What is the best way to sync iTunes music? I've been using DoubleTwist but it is just not working these days (especially after ICS update). I sync it and sync it and Playlists never appear. So I need something else. I'm mostly concerned about a Smart Playlist I have for podcasts, which would not sync with Google Play. So frustrating dealing with Doubletwist. I have Droid Bionic.

I think I'm going in the reverse direction of most people here, but my lapper hard drive died and took my itunes library with it. However, I have a backup of the music and playlists to Google Music and I'm using the Music Manager software to download my library back to my new PC.
My question is this...how can I get my Google Music playlists download to my PC and then synced to my new iTunes?
How to deal wit iTunes on my S4. I transferred my list of songs from my BB 9900. There was only a partial xfer. I am lost as to where to go from here

I know I can easily drag-n-drop files onto my Hero's SD card, and also use programs like MediaMonkey or Windows Media Player to sync music, but I can't seem to sync playlists. I have to manually create playlists on the Hero music app on the phone, and that is a pain.

Recently I got her to jump ship to the DI and so far she is loving it. My request now is, what is the EASIEST program to sync music with? (Obviously, it needs to be Linux compatible) I've never been a music/mp3 listener so I'm not real fluent on the best methods for storing/playing music. Do you keep all your music in one folder on your phone or SD card? Do you organize it via folders? Do you use the stock music player app? If you all don't mind, give me ideas on the best music management and I'll get her setup and running smoothly so she'll never look back to iPods/Windows again!!

View 1 Replies View RelatedIve been looking everywhere and still cant seem to do it but manually, but is there any program possible that I can sync Playlists from say iTunes that are in m3u format and it will show up as a playlist on my Droid? The only way that i found possible is by making the playlist each time i add a song to it and loading it to the Droid, which is a pain. And Songbird doesnt really support the Droid yet.

There has got to be some way to do this. I playlists in itunes that I want to sync with my incredible. I'm using a mac. At first I was just dragging and dropping the files, which works fine, except there are no playlists. I tried salling mediasync, it copied the songs, but not any playlists. I also get about half of the songs that won't play and message "unable to play files of this type" on the phone. So, is there a streamlined way to copy playlists from itunes to the incredible without downloading 2-3 different applications?

It looks as though it's only allowing me to add music without any playlists??? Am I doing something wrong? Or missing something? So far I have had no luck with FREE programs to allow me to sync my iTunes playlist with my Evo. It's becoming very frustrating. I thought that it was going to be an easy and FAST process to sync my music but it's more of a pain in my arse! I have tried DoubleTwist which is crap. IMO, it never recognizes my device and takes hours, or at least it seems to actually sync my device, when of course it actually recognizes it. I wasn't planning on spending any money on a program but looks like I may have to since I want to keep iTunes as my media player on my laptop. This is one thing I miss about my iPhone. It was soooo simple to sync my music and playlists.

In order to prepare for this, I set up Google Play Music to upload my music so it can be ready for me when I get my new phone (I like it better than Samsung's default music player). Only one problem: protected AAC files (or DRM) can't be transferred to Play Music. I tried converting my music with 2 different DRM converters, but they were free trials, and it only would convert 1:00 of each song and then stop. Is there any free way to convert each protected song completely, along with protected videos? Also, does music on Play Music eat up an Android device's space? I have over 12 GB of music and movies and I don't want to have barely any any space left on a 16 GB device if a 32 or 64 GB ever comes out, minus the SD card.

I've tried a lot of things and every one of them just transfers over the songs from the playlist and not the actual playlist. I really like the Music Player Samsung has and I want to use that one, but nothing seems to transfer playlists to it. I've tried doubletwist (only transfers the music, not the playlists), iTunes agent, (same) dazzboard (doesn't work at all), and songbird (so buggy and slow, impossible to use... gave up) There has to be some way to get that player to work with iTunes or to import everything from iTunes and use it with the Samsung Music Player.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just got a Motorola Milestone 2 and have used MotoCast to transfer my iTunes music over. I listen to a lot of radio plays in mp3 format on my iPad and Mac, as well as my Android phone. If I tell iTunes that the plays are Audiobooks and to remember the position that's no problem, they can pick up where I left off across the iPad and Mac, but I can't seem to do this in Android.
I use Poweramp on Android to listen to the plays and have experimented but can't seem to get it to sync where I last played.
There is an annoying playlist on my Nexus 5 on Play Music app. It is under Auto Playlists and is called "Last added". I can't seem to delete it, which is annoying. I don't know if these auto playlists will go away after some time by themselves, but if not, do any of you know how to delete the playlist?
Btw, I used iSyncr to transfer my music from Mac to phone, and I didn't have that playlist before.
Is there an app that can extract playlists from the default music player in CM9 (the one before Apollo)?
Alternatively, is there an app that to build universal playlists (i.e. .m3u) on my device?
I've been having some playlist issues... I've got one that I made and one that keeps reappearing, that I started to make at some point but lost (or, thought I lost). I finally just dragged and dropped a bunch of music over but how do I organize that into a playlist? Do I have to do it from the Eris itself (which involves adding every single song, one by one)? I have tried mounting the SD card and creating a playlist folder under the main music folder but that doesn't seem to work. The playlist is already created on the Eris and I moved a few songs over for testing, but when the card is mounted to the PC I can't find how the playlist is stored.....am I making any sense? View 2 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that despite having only four or five playlists on Google Music (desktop) my phone shows a bunch - mostly ones from albums I've downloaded. They don't show up in the browser version on my desktop so it looks like the only way to get rid of them is to manually delete every single one via the phone app.
Also, I've noticed that when I switch the settings to "on device only" my playlists created on the web page no longer show up, despite me having the majority of the songs on my microSD. I remember I used to be able to switch to "on device only" and the cloud playlist would scale down to only what I had on local storage. Was so....logical! Is there any way I can still do this? My microSD music is pretty much pointless since I don't have access to the playlists when I'm using "on device only".
I have downloaded all of my music onto my phone because streaming it out of the cloud used about a gig in 3 days. One of the issues is that I could not find a way to download the playlists I had created in google music onto the phone. So, I created playlists on my phone, made sure all of my music was set to be on the device. As soon as I made a playlist on my phone it immediately began downloading those songs out of the cloud.

been using it for near a couple weeks now. loving it by the way, don't know why i hadn't switched long ago. i would like your input on how to transfer my music from itunes to my android device, along with the album art and all the id3 tags and all. i've spent long periods of time over the years organizing my music in itunes with album art, artist name, track/song name, additional info and wouldn't want to go through the whole process again. i tried transferring one album by airdroid, then opening it in poweramp, but it switched out artist and album names (album name was identified as artist and vice versa) and no album art.

Here's my issue;
Basically when i sync playlists from my PC to my phone, it saves the playlists on my phone as .PLA format.
Now the only player that actually reads those playlists is my stock player.
I have tried several android players, but non of them will recognize the playlists.
On my PC for syncing i have tried
-WMP
-Winamp
-MediaMonkey
-DoubleTwist
All of these create playlists in PLA format on my device when transferring them, which wouldnt be a problem if i wanted to use the stock player.
As for android apps/media players i have tried:
-Cubed
-Winamp
-Mort Player
-Media PlayerPro
-Mixzing
-Astro Player
When i create a playlist using any of the apps on my phone, every other app is capable of reading them.
However, the playlist file can not be found on my phone, or my SD card. so i have no clue what format they are saved to, or where they are saved too.
I'm basically looking for a way to transfer my playlists from my computer to my android phone, and have the other apps actually read the playlists. The phone im using is the Samsung Galaxy S.
I want to transfer some iTunes music files over to my Galaxy S2. I've done this before but can't figure what I did to make it happen again.
I'm pretty sure that last time I did this I just connected the Galaxy to the iMac using a regular USB cable which then showed up on the background of the Mac as a media device. I then just clicked on the music I wanted to transfer in iTunes and dragged that over to the device. Simple as. Now however, when I connect the phone to the Mac it doesn't show up at all. On the phone itself it says "connected as a media device" but as I say, no sign of it on the Mac. I've tried several different cables and USB ports with same result.
I desperately need an app that syncs podcasts (as well as music) between my S3 and iTunes. I hate it when I listen to a new podcast on my phone then get back to my pc to start a new one but can't remember which ones I've listened to. Is there a good app that checks off a podcast on my phone but also shows it checked off on my pc (in iTunes)?
