I have noticed that there are a lot of different big name browsers on Android yet coincidentally not a single one of them has been updated with a simple new API which allows for immersive mode full screen.
How and why has Chrome out of all the browsers not been updated with this?

I've searched how to disable immersive mode in KitKat, and found nothing but topics on how to enable immersive mode.
In some games, immersive mode is annoying, since you'll swipe an area of the game interface near the immersed status bar, and the status bar will appear while gaming.
Is there an app, mod, or setting that can disable immersive mode?
I am searching for an Mod for Android 4.4 kitkat which make possible that navbar is invisible on immersive mod when keyboard is activate. And with swipe navbar is visible. Like normal in immersive mode. Is there a Mod vor a Rom or someone who can create an flashable ZIP with this mod??

View 3 Replies View RelatedTrouble is, the update happens whether you want it or not. I can no longer play vids using firefox. FF tell me there is no longer support and don't explain if that means for now or ever. Chrome has the usual flash not compatible bs they always come out with. Dolphin now seems to have joined Chrome. Puffin just shows blank screens. If this isn't temporary then android tablets are merely web browsers.

Because of this difficulty, I am unable to search and find web browsers that support inverted mode. Google search will always come up with tutorials on how to turn on inverted mode in the ICS browser, which this RUU version doesn't support.
Where can I find a list of browsers that support Inverted Mode/Night Mode?I do know Dolphin Browser dropped support for Night Mode.

Is there a way to do that in 4.4.2 without downloading a new app in Google Play? It would be nice to be able to do that automatically so i do not have to silent the phone every single time for that recurring event.
Any app that can quickly switching between location modes? I often need the High Accuracy mode for navigation, but would rather be able to quickly go back to Battery Saving any other time. A widget switch would be very useful.

However, I'm not able to correctly turn on/off the airplane mode.I have the following codes: (checked value is from onCheckedChanged callback of a check box UI)

The line where it calls Settings.Global.putInt(....) works, because we can see that the airplane mode's check box in the android's settings app will changes as we change this value from our app, so we know that our app is indeed a system app. Otherwise, it will throw a SecurityException at this line.
However, we're getting "Permission Denial: not allowed to send broadcast android.intent.action.AIRPLANE_MODE", at the line where it calls mContext.sendBroadcast(...). I have no idea why this fails while Settings.Global.putInt works.
One last note is that we're using Android 4.4.2 (KitKat).
It is a big gap currently IMO, especially when you see how well it works on Safari/iOS.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded to Kitkat. Now when I come out of airplane mode there is no way to enter my Sim pin code. The only solution I've found is to reboot it.
Before kitkat I'd have to select an app like tasker or data manager before it'd ask for the pin. This no longer happens though. HTC One

Seems fairly straight forward Settings > Apps > Uninstall. But is there any reason, or a good idea to boot into recovery mode and wipe cache?

Every time I try to connect into FB through either the stock browser or Skyfire I get a "Cookies Required" error msg and it won't let me log in. Cookies are enabled on both browsers but I still can't get in. What gives?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using CyanogenMod 5.0.6 on my Nexus One. Until recently everything was fine but now, none of the browsers on my device are working on either Wifi or EDGE. I tried default browser, Dolphin, Skyfire and even Firefox nightly build. All of them are not opening any pages. Strange thing is, all other internet related applications work i.e. Market, K9, News & Weather etc. It is not a DNS problem as I can ping sites in terminal and get a response. I tried clearing the cache/data. Also tried CacheCleaner. None of the things I tried seem to work.

Whenever I go on certain websites like Facebook, it will ask me which browser to use. So I select one, then the box comes up every couple seconds asking me to choose which browser to choose after I already selected one of them! This is so frustrating some times! I don't want to make skyfire my default since its still in Beta stages.
