Trouble is, the update happens whether you want it or not. I can no longer play vids using firefox. FF tell me there is no longer support and don't explain if that means for now or ever. Chrome has the usual flash not compatible bs they always come out with. Dolphin now seems to have joined Chrome. Puffin just shows blank screens. If this isn't temporary then android tablets are merely web browsers.

I have noticed that there are a lot of different big name browsers on Android yet coincidentally not a single one of them has been updated with a simple new API which allows for immersive mode full screen.
How and why has Chrome out of all the browsers not been updated with this?
Unhappy with Samsung's stock ICS version, I moved on to a CyanogenMod9 nightly build for my SGS2 - an admittedly risky thing to do on April 1st - which proves fantastically stable and fast.
However, when I installed the Facebook app, I found that the option to sync and merge contacts is gone. From the app, but also from the Accounts and Sync option in Android's settings. It still says "Facebook" under the accounts that I can add, but nothing happens when tapped.
I wiped and re-installed everything, but to no avail. The setting is no longer there and I cannot sync my Facebook contact details with my existing contact list.
Don't know if this has been covered, but some flash sites work fine with my internet browser.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I did an update about a year ago I could no longer get mms messages. Then there was an update a few months ago and all of a sudden I was able to receive MMS again. Then I updated again 2 days ago and again, cannot see MMS from certain people.. HTC phones I think. I was on the phone w/ ATT and Samsung yesterday for about 2 hours. I finally did what they said-backup on Kies and factory reset. Not only did the reset not fix the MMS issue, Kies did NOT back up my phone. Just like that, my phone has lost everything. Because of gmail, I got my apps back... but all blank, like I had never used them. Lost my texts, contacts, etc.. and still not receiving MMS.

there was any way to get the LED to flash longer after receiving a text/email/etc. It seems to only go for maybe 10 minutes after the notification is received. Also, did anyone else have any trouble setting up the email on the phone? I have tried to set it and it won't recognize my account.

I was taking pictures last night with my flash, and I noticed that even though the LED comes on, it turns off again the instant before the shutter closes. This problem is reproducible 100% of the time, and happens whether the picture is taken with the shutter button or the new touch button. This has basically rendered the flash useless.

Just upgraded nexus 5 to 4.4.2and the flash control is greyed out even with HDR+ deselected. I tested the flash by sheilding light with my hand and it works (on auto) just greyed out cant change from auto to manual. Pretty ordinary if you ask me. would like to force flash on on occasion.

Every time I try to connect into FB through either the stock browser or Skyfire I get a "Cookies Required" error msg and it won't let me log in. View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using CyanogenMod 5.0.6 on my Nexus One. Until recently everything was fine but now, none of the browsers on my device are working on either Wifi or EDGE. I tried default browser, Dolphin, Skyfire and even Firefox nightly build. All of them are not opening any pages. Strange thing is, all other internet related applications work i.e. Market, K9, News & Weather etc. It is not a DNS problem as I can ping sites in terminal and get a response. I tried clearing the cache/data. Also tried CacheCleaner. None of the things I tried seem to work.

Whenever I go on certain websites like Facebook, it will ask me which browser to use. So I select one, then the box comes up every couple seconds asking me to choose which browser to choose after I already selected one of them! This is so frustrating some times! I don't want to make skyfire my default since its still in Beta stages.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI got the OTA 2.2 update pushed to my first generation Verizon Droid this morning. Nice new homescreens, love the apps menu, USB tethering option even showed up in my settings menu as selectable. BUT, nether my Dolphin Browser HD or the stock browser can connect to the Internet via 3g anymore (they work on WiFi though). It worked fine before the update. After TWO hours on the phone with Verizon (one Customer Service guy and two Tech support guys, one of those a "Droid support" person), their solution: Factory Reset to 2.1 and don't update it if it asks again. All other 3g Internet based services work fine: SMS, Facebook, Marketplace, News apps, etc. I mean COME ON Verizon! "The glitch is with Froyo and our mobile network but there's really nothing we can do". "The update is pushed by Motorola" "There is a second OTA update supposed to be coming in early September" Folks, is this 2.2 update really this faulty? Or is this maybe just my particular phone? I was also having an issue with my GPS no longer working for several weeks before the update. They couldn't figure anything out for that so they agreed to send me a new phone, which they said will have 2.1 on it. Since I'm traveling next week, I am reluctant to accept another OTA update. Any opinions about whether I should?.......
