Ok so i have been searching the forums for an answer to my questions but cannot seem to find anything definitive. Does hdmi out/tv out work with any of the Internet browsers? Do any of the emulators support hdmi out/tv out? Is there any android device the supports tv out for its home screen and all apps? If not when will we get any of this?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was wondering about internet browsers and their capability in displaying certain content on web pages. I go back and forth between the stock internet browser that came with the Evo and Xscope Browser. I noticed two things, on that it doesn't display animation on GIFs. I wanted to know, is there a plug-in one can download or a browser that would run the animation on the page? The reason I ask is because right now I can�t tell the difference between a JPEG and GIF on the page when it loads up. Its only when I decide to download it that it displays the extension. My second question is about playing Quicktime files on trailer websites that run QT. I can�t play these back. Is there a plug-in or browser that I can use to play those videos on my Evo?

On a daily basis I will toggle between 4 different home screens, 3 different music players, 4 different internet browsers various wallpapers, various weather widgets. I'm sure if I was able to settle one having the same layout on a daily basis I wouldn't be charging my phone 2 times a day.

I finally bought a cable. I plugged it in to my phone and the TV. The tv automatically switched to "480p" and goes black (like it is about to do something). But it stays black. For anything.
Also, someone told me that there should be a little "HDMI" icon in the stop left of the phone when it is plugged in. I don't have this on my phone. Nothing happens on my phone at all. I have 3 HDMI inputs on my tv. It's a viewsonic, if that matters.
I purchased an HDMI cable for my Droid X from Amazon.com and when I tried it out it didn't do anything. I don't have wi-fi, I just want to watch my videos on my tv. It' s a Vizio, about 3 years old. Don't know if its my tv or my DroidX. Again, nothing happens when plugged in.

I've got a Razr Maxx that I'm looking at replacing and was looking at the new Droid Maxx but I'm concerned about the lack of HDMI out. I'm a boater and have a TV on my boat. I connect my Razr Maxx to my TV with a Micro HDMI to HDMI cable and watch Netflix when I'm on the. I'd hate to give that up but also realize that my Maxx won't last forever.
Any new phones that do have HDMI out?
I'm trying to find out if anyone has tried to use Evo + Slingplayer + mini hdmi cable and hooking up to a tv? Any success?

(WIFI does) the weird thing is: When i have my phone in my pocket or on the table and my screen is off, it recieves gprs. But when i turn my screen on the gprs turns into 3g, then in HSPA and then it disappears. This takes about 5 seconds or less..
When i put my simcard in my old iphone 3g the internet works fine, so that means its my phone to blame and not the network
I am reletively new to this but have now successfully updated and backed up my hero a few times. I;m not sure whether this problem is due to a ROM upgrade or me just being stupid but i cannot connect to the internet on my orange hero unless im hooked up to my home wireless? when i go to use the internet without wireless on i get the message "web page not available. check to make sure your device has a signal and data connection.reload this web page later. view a cached copy of the web page from google? im assuming its a problem with my settings but dont know how to sort the prob out.

Is there a cable that is micro HDMI on one end and the three on the other end? I realize it won't be HDMI quality, but i could at least put movies up on the TV from my phone.

For example when I am on the mobile internet network, de standard Internet browser does not work. It just displays a white page whatever I'm trying to load.Other programs say there is no internet connection avaible or just don't respond.
However there are 2 programs that d� work. Opera Mini and eBuddy can work with Wi-Fi and 3G. Other Apps like to check if it's gonna rain, or a News RSS viewer etcetera does not work.They only do with Wi-Fi.I have no clue what to search for and also no idea if it's my mobile phone or my provider(it's named 'Hi', it's dutch).
After seeing the image of Google selling the unlocked version of the Nexus One, I'm intrigued to buy one. However, I'm wondering if Google navigation will work without Internet as I don't plan on buying a data plan. If Google navigation does work, can you tell me what features, if any, are lacking because of the loss of Internet. I understand that this cannot answered by a person without a Nexus One, since its not released yet, but does anyone with a Motorola Milestone know the answer?

View 49 Replies View Relatedfor whatever reason today we lost our internet connection at work. Now I work for an airline doing charters and today we added a second flight to each shift. So I tethered my phone for the 3g and just plugged it in at the end of the day to charge it. Needless to say it handeled 300 passengers/customers easy. Changes, bag fees, checking in and selling for a solid 8hrs today! I don't think I'll ever get another cell phone ever. Maybe a bigger SD, but phone, probably not.
View 9 Replies View Relatedi'm here at work and have been trying for the last hour to get my phone to work as a modem. I got the same error message over and over again after connecting it to my computer "Error Code 67, your PCS Vision username and password may be incorrect." I installed HTC Sync, and it still doesn't work. So, assuming to myself that tethering for just one computer would be free, I call up Sprint tech support to find out what the problem is. First person didn't know what I was talking about so I was transferred to a really nice lady who helped me reprogram the phone but that didn't work so she sent me to another woman from tech support who had me go into System Updates and select Update Profile. I did that twice while talking to her and nothing fixed the problem.I kept getting error 67.So then, I get transferred to "Advanced" tech support and I talk to a really cool guy who goes out of his way to find a loop hole, but no success. So, he explains to me that after looking at it that they don't offer the "phone as modem" option anymore to my account type, and even then it would be $15 a month to just tether one phone. He said he could add the wifi hotspot option but I told him I don't want to pay $30/month for something I only use on Saturdays and when I travel. So after a hour on the phone, I got nowhere... but then I went onto the App Store and found Easy Tether-Lite and after 5 minutes I am sitting here writing this thread. (The full version said it supports https but idk what that means and I can surf the web now).
I only have one concern now though.I'm really happy this works but i'm scared now because this App was too easy to setup. I feel like I may be charged up the ass by Sprint somehow by finding this loophole or I may get penalized. My family and I are on the Everything Data where all data is unlimited so I don't think I should have a problem but after paying $30 extra a month for data with AT&T and finding this work around i'm getting paranoid that i'm going to get a bill at the end of the month charging me for tethering. So I guess i'll see what happens, but i'm glad for now.
So my setup at work is pretty slick. My network internet connection at work is restricted and monitored as is similar in most corporations. My technique to avoid the proxy is this...
Plug a USB wireless adapter into the PC, Run a virtual machine with the virtual network adapter pointed to the USB wireless adapter. I run wireless tether on the EVO and boom my PC stays in tact on the corporate network, so email and other network activity works and appears normal and is routed thru the corp LAN, but when I want to browse the web I jump in my VM which is routed thru my EVO.
My Magic connects to the Internet via WiFi but I can't actually browse Internet or get apps to work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently found that my internet connection only appears to work when I am in contact with WIFI, the o2 service seems to have stopped working. When I have wi fi turned off, as I can't connect when I am not in work anyway I use the usual O2 facilty however in this mode, I cannot download anything. I seem to be receiving my email notification ok. Is there something I may need to change in my settings?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an LG Optimus Elite and when I first set the phone up with WIFI, the bars were green and everything worked, but then I powered the phone off and the bars turned white and my WIFI status says that I'm connected but nothing (except the browser, Skype and sometimes Youtube) works--they all mostly say "authentication required" or "not connected." I have multiple laptops, have had two iPod Touch devices, and friends' devices work just fine on my internet, but this one won't--the time/date isn't even correct.
I've rebooted the phone about 4 times and each doing different things, like signing in to Youtube with Google account, syncing my Google account, and just trying different things with the WIFI (airplane mode, turning off sleep), and I've restarted my modem and router. I logged in at a restaurant and the time was correct, but I wasn't able to check more than that. I've been searching for a fix for a few days now and nothing has worked at home.
I don't have the phone plan connected so there's nothing that I can do with the 3G connection. It's just really frustrating because I bought two of these phones (one for myself, and one for my girlfriend) and only one phone works, even though we've checked to see if all our settings were exactly the same--which they are.
Edit: Each time I power the phone off the WIFI bars turn white and the internet doesn't work good (like I wrote above). For the amount of time that there is internet (after factory reset) the time is wrong. I forgot to mention this.
Edit 2: I cleared the Google Services Framework data and, after doing that, the WIFI works until I power the phone off and on again. I'll add more information as I try more things.
I never had a problem until today and now my evo is having trouble connecting in places it used to work great in. And when it does connect, it (a) either doesn't work at all (browser, speed test, nothing registers an internet connection) or (b) works for a minute, then (a) happens. I have an allegedly "good" 4g signal too. Tried soft reset and battery pulling, hoping that the problem will go away before resorting to a factory reset...

I have been looking for something I can browse the internet with, watch video, and take notes in class all while having the capabilities of a tablet. My girlfriend works nights at a sleep lab and has an extremely terrible wifi connection at her work. The only way for her to connect to the internet is via cable. I'm thinking that the Transformer (with dock) is our best option but I was wondering if a simple cable to USB adapter will work on a Transformer for connecting to the internet?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an Asus Slider Sl101. Around 3 days ago, our router had been changes as the previous one wasn't working properly. Our carrier is Charter and our router is Netgear. We hooked every device up to that new router and everything worked fine, including the tablet. But later on in the day,the Internet on there stopped working.
It shows that it's connected, but when I try to access the internet through the browser, it does not work. The blue line at the top of the browser starts up, moves forward a little, and stops entirely while the browser then says "Webpage Not Available". Apps that require Internet, such as Accuweather and my SAT apps, fail to work as well. Other devices that use our wifi include another computer and Nintendo DSi and 3DS. They all work fine. Our router shows that our android is connected to it, as well.
I've tried the static IP stuff, restarted the router, left the wifi off on the tablet for a few hours, and turned it off and off. I even factory resetted it and not even that worked.
