i am trying to root my Samsung Galaxy s3 L710VPUND8 4.4.2. I have read and search around and figure out the basic concept on how to do it but I can not find the correct files for my phone.

I upgraded my firmware to 4.4.2 kitkat and now my GS4 seems to run abit sluggish. I get some delay when entering and exiting apps and also some delay when you hold the home button to open the task manager. Also when I type sometimes what I type takes awhile to come up and also takes some time for the phone to react to the buttons I press. Is this an issue with the new update. I have the Rogers version of the Gs4. Also if I have to end up restoring my phone, software because I used Samsung Kies in the past and found that when you restore your apps back to your phone. Samsung Kies does not restore your save data for the apps.

Every time I want to set a custom notification I get this list of Samsung sounds to choose from, instead of being asked, for instance, where I want to find the sound.
My friend, who has an LG G2 running Android 4.3 gets the following when he clicks on notification sound in Whatsapp:

I then thought to install an app that controls all notification sounds, kind of like Lightflow does notification LEDs. I found MegaSound and tried that. Gave it permission, went in, tried to set a custom notification sound for Whatsapp and was shown the same list to choose from.
Before I updated I was able to choose a wma/mp3 sound from my files on my phone to use.
I have an original s4 black version but I recently found out that they have released a black edition s4 that features the same leather back found on the note 3? do any of you know where I can buy this back and wether it will be available?

I unrooted it using SuperSU but when I went to install the latest KitKat update (4.4.2) it flashed the yellow triangle and said I had unauthorized software and I needed to contact the Verizon store. I did the down volume-home-power thing and took care of that but it is clear to me that even though SuperSU says my phone is unrooted it isn't. How do I really unroot my phone?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Virgin Mobile Galaxy S3 that just got the 4.4 update this morning. Afterwards it had to redownload/update nearly every app on the device as well as all my SNES and Playsation ROMs which I though was odd.
Now all the notifications for thos downloads will not go away. I've cleared them all at once, I've cleared them all individually. When I turn the screen off and then turn it back on an dunlock the phone all those notifications are back in the notification bar.
When will my device Samsung galaxy s3 GT-I9300 will get android 4.4 kitkat update in India my device is running slow and heats up very fastly .

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been reading a lot about this rooting of the phone just so you can install a fix that will get rid of all the so-called Lag issue. Now, I really like to know why it is a MUST to root your phone just to increase the speed? I do not get it. Aren't there available programs in the market, to shut down unwanted programs? Like Task killer etc. BTW, is this the best program for this issue? I have ordered a Samsung Galaxy S and hopefully I will be getting it soon. But it worries me that the first thing I have to do is 'Root' my phone because of programs running in the background? Does not sound too logical to me. Are these official Samsung versions? If so, why does Kies not offer to upgrade my phone if there are later versions? If not and I upgrade to a later firmware version:Which version should I upgrade to? Do I need to root the phone? What happens if Samsung release later versions - will there be a conflict etc? Will it affect any of the apps I currently have? Will there be a problem upgrading to v2.2 Froyo?

The reason i would like to upgrade the firmware is the lag - I can live with it, but if there is a solution I would rather not. If I could remove the lag it woulld be the perfect phone.
One thing I am not too keen on, is ending up in a similar situation to my jailbroken iphone - became a pain in the arse everytime a new version of the OS was released.
I live in Canada and I have this I7500L Samsung Galaxy (with BELL mobility) I want to upgrade with the newer androids 2.1 or 2.2.

I am having an issue with Yahoo Mail app on my Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 running 4.4.
Initially when I was using the Yahoo Mail App on my 12.2 with contacts synced. I was able to successfully use the autofill in the "To" bar. But for some unknown reason autofill no longer works. I have uninstalled and reinstalled YM app a few times and there is no change. I have alse cleared cache on Contacts with no dice either.
Since I updated my phone yesterday...When I go to create a text message and enter the recipient it is not finding anyone. There is a few names/e-mails that pop up but not the ones im looking for. My address book is still the same and it is people I regularly message.

I finally (after some trouble) rooted my Captivate earlier today. Since then, I have not been able to download any apps from the Android Marketplace, either paid or free.
The apps get to the stage of "Starting Download" but just wind up hanging there infinitely.
Is it likely that something occurred during or indirectly related to the rooting itself that's caused this problem, or is this just as likely coincidental?
Is it possible to get more than the stock 3 screens on the Galaxy without rooting? Just recently got the phone and not sure if going down the rooting path yet (at least until I'm comfortable I won't brick it) I'm still on Android 1.5 as I cannot upgrade to 1.6 through Samsung PC studio.

I have messed up big time! I rooted my phone perfectly fine and everything. But when I tried to install a new ICS rom and rebooted, my phone showed the samsung logo followed by a screeching frequency noise, followed by a restart. This process continues forever. I really hope I didn't break my phone.. I can access the CWM btw.
