View 23 Replies View RelatedI know there have been other threads about the Youtube app no longer working (majority of the time), but it looks like it hasn't been commented on in awhile.SO, I really want to get this phone but won't until I know the bug is fixed.Can you Eris users let me know if your Youtube app is working or not working? (basically by not working I mean, almost every video you try to open you get a message saying: "Sorry, this video cannot be played")Also, does anyone have any logical ideas as to why not EVERY Eris user is affected by this bug?
View 22 Replies View RelatedHas anyone rooted their EVO using unprovoked for Linux? I'm attempting to do so, but it's not quite working. I downloaded unprovoked 3 for Linux and it started up fine. I put my Evo in debug mode and started the unprovoked process. The process seemed to start okay, and I ended up in the hboot screen. However, when I scroll down to the hboot usb option it seemed to be looking for pcdiag.xx (goes by too quickly). After a few seconds it just came back to the default hboot screen. I also got the following in my Linux terminal: unrEVOked recovery reflash tool git version: 4f78f67, ERROR: n = -1, errno = 19 (No such device), What am I missing? Everything I read indicates that all I need to do is run the unprovoked program. Is there something else I need to have?

It'll also start playing a song skip to another , then another then back to the original and then call my voicemail. Other times when I dont even have a music app open and try to send a text it'll start playing a song. Anyone have any clue what is going on?

Google Maps & Latitude, Youtube, the Market will not load properly and will either give error messages or won't load at all. Gmail, Voice, Gtalk and the web still work. I have did a couple reboots, pulled the battery, cleared the cache and nothing has helped. Any suggestions short of a factory restore or the Verizon store?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI rooted using a video i found on you tube. the process involved using unprovoked and amon_ra, i downgraded to 2.1 and loaded a stock sense 2.2. However, as i was exploring and reading up on roms i saw that many people said that unprovoked was a bad way to go due to some problems. So now im scared to load any roms/themes. is there a way for me to switch my root from the unprovoked method to the other method?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm thinking of debranding my Orange-locked Desrie using Unrevoked3 as it's supposed to be a doddle. I've downloaded the programmer, but before I attach my phone ot my computer and press go, I have four questions:
1. Do I need to unlock my phone first?
2. Do I need a goldcard?
3. Does Unprovoked provide a ROM or do I have to install that myself separately?
4. What does this actually do? Root? Debrand? What?
So I want to update my baseband for various reasons. I'm rooted and just ran unprovoked forever, so I've got s-off. I am currently running 2.1 update1, with baseband 1.00.03.04.06. how do I go about updating to a 2.xx.xx.xx.xx baseband, and do I need to be running 2.2 to do this?

Microsoft Gives Android the Free Barcode-Reading Tag App - Microsoft tag android - Gizmodo. I found it in the marketplace but it doesn't work on my Eris. I downloaded it and opened it but couldn't get it to scan any of the barcodes or QR codes I tried whereas my Barcode Scanner app picked them up easily. The is started freezing, doing nothing. I uninstalled and then reinstalled and all I got was force closes after that. Maybe it is not compatible with 1.5 although it was in the marketplace. Has anyone else tried it successfully? I guess I will stick with Barcode Scanner, not sure if Tag does anything different or better than that anyway although the article said it has an advanced way of reading.
I'm trying to debug apps with the new HTC Droid Eris and ADB doesn't seem to recognize the device. I have the latest SDK installed with "Usb Driver Package, Revsion 2" downloaded through the Android SDK and AVD Manager. When the device is connected, it recognizes new hardware and I point it to the USB_driver folder to install the drivers. Windows accepts and installs the drivers. However, "adb devices" from a command prompt never lists the phone. I've tried this on two different Windows XP systems. I have "Unknown Sources" and "USB Debugging" checked under Application Settings, Development.

View 10 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden, Ringdroid isn't working any more.Whenever I try and cut out part of a song, no matter where it is, the song keeps playing from the beginning.I saw this link (Ringdroid help), but that didn't work.I powered off the phone for a few minutes then back on, and I have the same problem.I have an Eris with the 1.5 OS on it.I thought it was working previously, but admittedly, I don't use it all that often.Any ideas?

However, I just realized that call history/caller ID doesn't really seem to be working. If I go to the call history page, everybody shows up as "unknown", even though they are all saved in my contacts (manually input). Also, it doesn't list the numbers - just "unknown" and the time the call was made/sent/etc. If I try to add the number to contacts from the call history page, it brings up a blank new contact sheet... the number isn't filled out in advance It also doesn't list numbers, names, etc if I am receiving a call... the phone just displays the (adorable) green guy - no name, no pic, even though these people are saved in my contacts. Does anybody else have this issue or know what might be causing it? I'm hopeful that I'm foolishly ignoring some setting..

View 5 Replies View RelatedI keep getting errors on my pdanet it use to work fine..since upgrading it..i keep getting socket error and it disconnects and then have to reconnect..which is as often as every 2 minutes...then it gave me an htc sync error ...on the websites help it wants me to uninstall htc sync...uhh thats really the part of the phone..it is the phone..isnt it? and where the flip do i uninstall..and do i even want to uninstall that...i tried other programs..cannot get nothing to work..or they wanted me to transfer this program here...that doesnt work...or i dont know how..or where exactly...i really want to get rid of this stupid verizon wireless card..i pay far to much for limited usage and crappy service...but i cant do that until this tethering works..

After a couple days it just stops working and then I have to reenter all my info again.It is frustrating.Has this happened to anyone else? View 11 Replies View RelatedAfter working well for the first month or so, it looks like GPS is not working very well for me. I'm not sure what changed. I now, when using the locate feature in Google Maps, often find myself in the middle of the Pacific off the Social shore. I usually try to remain on land when possible, though. Or it my randomly 'telephonist' me a few hundred yards off in some direction, then I'm back withing seconds. But a lot of the time it's not able to really locate me well at all. I think the network locating is doing 'k', but GPS is failing pretty bad lately. The icon shows GPS working, and I try disabling and re-enabling it. But that doesn't help. Anyone else having issues with GPS accuracy? Any apps that can help 'fine-tune' the GPS?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm just wondering if this is normal: I can go into an app like Google Maps and drop down into street view with the compass view enabled. I'll see that the view will really only point one way and jerk around that one direction as I move it around. I'll then calibrate the compass using the figure 8 method and then street view will work properly. If I then exit back to the home screen and load up say LAYER I'll have the same problem. The compass will point in one direction and jerk around it until it's recalibrate again. It's more of an annoyance really as I basically have to recalibrate it every time I open up an app that uses it. Just wondering if others are having this issue. I've talked to a few i phone friends and other than the occasional recalibration they don't seem to have this issue.

I use it primarily for a forum such as this and it freezes up all the time. I've tried clearing the cache and cookies and nothing seems to help. Not sure if I should go with another browser but I downloaded the dolphin one and that did the same thing. Anyone have a clue? Im not pc smart so please talk "dumb" to me if you have any clues!

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy GPS quit working yesterday in Ruidoso, NM. Was working great all weekend, even in the mountains. Yesterday morning, it refused to find my location. Rebooted several times (didn't remove battery-should have) but it never kicked in. Turned GPS off, but kept turning it on periodically just to check it on the drive back to Austin. When we got home, I checked it one more time and it was working? I'm very glad it's working, but just wonder why it stopped? I really missed it!
