So I want to update my baseband for various reasons. I'm rooted and just ran unprovoked forever, so I've got s-off. I am currently running 2.1 update1, with baseband 1.00.03.04.06. how do I go about updating to a 2.xx.xx.xx.xx baseband, and do I need to be running 2.2 to do this?

I try to "adb remount" when the phone is on, and I get an error saying it can't be permitted. it also says "$" when I do adb shell
but I can still do it fine from clockwork recovery.
I'm currently running the CM6 rom on my DINC, and I guess I forgot to update my baseband version, which is preventing me from using WiFi, and my camcorder function. So I downloaded the baseband update.zip, and put it on the root of my microSD, formatted in fat32 btw. Hboot detects the update.zip, but for whatever reason can't install it. When I go into ClockworkMod Recovery, and choose the apply sdcard:update.zip option, after 'Writing RDL/BP image..." I get the error "E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip (status 0) Installation aborted".

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted Droid Incredible currently running froyo (2.2) with a sky raider 2.0 ROM. I have attempted to install the PB31IMG.zip then the update.zip onto a rooted incredible then installed the sky raider ROM. I did not realize that the PB31IMG.zip did not successfully install. From what I could tell it unzips it then says that it cannot find the images. After downloading it to my PC before putting on the root of the SD card it wont let me open it and says that it is corrupt and could not create the file. However I am able to unzip it from my PC running XP. Basically My issue is that the sky raider 2.0 ROM only works with the version2 baseband and I have baseband 1.x version and cannot seem to get it updated. It is causing the wireless tether to not work and the camcorder. Sorry If i have provided too much detail or confusing. I have also tried to unroot but since it wont open the PB31IMG.zip i am unable to downgrade.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHas anyone rooted their EVO using unprovoked for Linux? I'm attempting to do so, but it's not quite working. I downloaded unprovoked 3 for Linux and it started up fine. I put my Evo in debug mode and started the unprovoked process. The process seemed to start okay, and I ended up in the hboot screen. However, when I scroll down to the hboot usb option it seemed to be looking for pcdiag.xx (goes by too quickly). After a few seconds it just came back to the default hboot screen. I also got the following in my Linux terminal: unrEVOked recovery reflash tool git version: 4f78f67, ERROR: n = -1, errno = 19 (No such device), What am I missing? Everything I read indicates that all I need to do is run the unprovoked program. Is there something else I need to have?

However, as i was exploring and reading up on roms i saw that many people said that unprovoked was a bad way to go due to some problems. So now im scared to load any roms/themes. is there a way for me to switch my root from the unprovoked method to the other method?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm thinking of debranding my Orange-locked Desrie using Unrevoked3 as it's supposed to be a doddle. I've downloaded the programmer, but before I attach my phone ot my computer and press go, I have four questions:
1. Do I need to unlock my phone first?
2. Do I need a goldcard?
3. Does Unprovoked provide a ROM or do I have to install that myself separately?
4. What does this actually do? Root? Debrand? What?
So I unrooted my phone to update it to froyo. I want to get root back but if I update to froyo will I be able to use unprovoked to root it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was following the "guide to rooting no mater whats your status" and got stuck because of a bad link, then found a new link later on in the thread and that still didnt work (staus 7 error) anyways i have a rooted 2.1 with now unrevoked-forever, S-off.....what should i do from here, just stay with 2.1 and just mess with roms, or try and find another thread for updating to 2.2 with a rooted 2.1?

I tried logging out and back in then 'resyncing' it again to no avail. Any resolution to this problem? I see that some Evo and Hero users are having the same problem.

I believe i know how to do it,
1) Download http://koush.tandtgaming.com/recover....5.0.1-inc.img
2) DO NOT PLUG IN YOUR PHONE
3) Run unrEVOked v3.0
4) Under FILE choose CUSTOM RECOVERY
5) Point to the img file
6) Plug in your phone
What does the new version do that the old one doesnt?
Is it in my best interest to do it?

Yes, Auto sync is on. Yes I've even manually synced it.I put the contact in there 3 days ago. It has complete info, even added it to my favorites and friends.STILL NO UPDATE INTO MY GMAIL ACCOUNT.I LOVE this phone but its little things like this that have me still keep me missing my blackberry.)

I've already tried clearing the data in the Calendar application, and manually syncing them. I'm also using Pure Calendar, if it matters, and have the update frequency set to every 30 minutes, and have already manually refreshed that as well.

I go into Menu>Setting>Update automatically, click on the box, then get the Data warning "this may result in additional charges from your wireless provider. Enable automatic download of weather data"
Click on YES
then I back out, and go back in to the setting, and the box is UNCHECKED again.
It's not holding the update yes setting.
Given that we have s-off, is it now possible to update clockworkmod from the phone itself rather than having to use unrevoked? if so, how?

Whenever I try to update this app, it downloads, but the installation always starts and just stops, saying the installation was incomplete. Of course, I went and took the next step, uninstalling, and trying to reinstall. Same problem. If I was looking at the Angry Birds screen on the market during this, it pops up Installation error Unknown reason-18 I ran into the same issue with Google Sky Map updating, and reinstalling. Same error message. Does anyone know what this error is?

View 4 Replies View RelatedAnyone having trouble with widgets stop updating? Like my clock/calendar/weather/news/pretty much any widget i have stops updating after an hour. So i look at my clock widget two hours later and it is an hour behind. Happens to ALL my widgets.Even the quick turn on/off wifi,bt,gps and such. They just stop updating/showing animation.I have ADW launcher installed. I am wondering if it is that. I do not really want to remove it as i hate the stock 3 button interface at the bottom (why do i need a contacts and phone, just use the phone to look thru contacts, wasted space IMO) and am quite keen on keeping the 5 button.Any ideas? If i power off the phone and turn it back on it's fine again for about an hour. SOmetimes randomly thru the day it will start updating and working fine again then randomly stop again.

Google Talk photos are not updated to reflect my Google Account.i.e. Some people have no photo displayed on the phone, but on my computer (in my Google Account) there is actually a photo, whether it be one the user selected or I set for them. And the photos that are there are not updated when/if someone changes it. The old one remains there.
2. Google Latitude photos do just the same. They are not updating... Anyboy experiencing similar problems, or have a fix? The photos seem to update, but slower in my contacts (People). But they don't update in the Google-based apps, which is wierd.
