I just got my droid eris yesterday, and I like it but i don't have any sounds at all, but can make and recieve calls and talk without a problem. I pluged in my head phones and could hear the application i was trying to use but when i unplug it nothing..HELP

I saved my ringtones to my SD card and mounted it to my Eris the first week I bought my phone. They worked great under notifications and ringtones. As of last week my notification sounds wouldn't change when I chose a different sound and then it'd stay on the very first ringtone I chose. Now, the ringtones I've set for notifications won't work at all. I can hear them when I test them out, but after I set it as my current sound I won't hear it when I get a text message or anything. I know others are having this problem. Does it have to do with the update you think? Maybe Android 2.0 will fix it.....
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just noticed a couple days ago that some of my sounds aren't working on my Droid X. Ringtones, alarms, notifications work. Audible touch tones, audible selection, keyboard typing and some other sounds in games are not working. Also, when rebooting the "droid" sound isn't playing (not sure if that was taken out with froyo.) About a week ago these sounds were all working so I know it wasn't the update that killed them. And yes I've looked and made sure that all the checks were selected for these sounds.

Is it possible to have one tone for Yahoo a different one for GMail another for text messages ect.....? Right now the phone only has one tone for all notifications. Once again, sorry if this has been asked numerous times I'm just looking for a quick answer.

Is that even possible - to use your own sounds for notifications? If so, I wonder what the best way would be to get that sound on the Eris, and keep the fidelity.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to make the sounds on the Eris louder? I have put in music from my computer using MP3 gain at 93 db. and it seems really quiet most of the time. I can try and raise the db some more, but does anyone know if there is a setting somewhere that is curbing the volume? My wife has the Eris too and her phone is louder playing the same song.
Mine seems to have quieted for some reason and it is not a speaker blown or anything. Just quieter than hers is and a bit hard to hear if in the car with the window down. I noticed it is really low in volume if I am listening to Last FM, Pandora, or Stitcher Radio. They are hard to hear at all if the window is slightly down.
Is there any way to preview the different notification sounds? I've been trying to figure this out for several weeks but have decided to ask the experts here for help.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some reason when someone text messages me it plays no sounds. Just started it today. I checked all volume settings and everything is on. Even selected a new ringtone still no go. It plays sounds so its not the speaker. Any way to fix this?
Also I fixed my numbers not coming up in my gmail contacts sync last night. Now the phone wont recognize my gmail contacts. I made sure all sync settings were turned on. Anyone know how to fix this. Search the forums and went to manage applications and cleared all google apps still no go.

I used to be able to use Zedge as a choice to use different sounds. I cant do it anymore and I do not know why. My girlfriends phone still has the option and I even tried to clear defaults and clear data from clock and ht sense and all that and it still doesn't let me. Any idea of how I can use different sounds for my default alarm clock. I used to be able to and my girlfriend still can.

If I click on mail and open it up I go to menu Button>more>settings>notifications but all I can do is either turn the notification on or off. I can't set an individual sound for each email acct.

And even when I try to select a default notification sound, it doesn't change to it, its stays the same as when the one that it was set to when i got the phone. 2. If it will work, any recommendations such a headset? I'm no audiophile, so my main issues would be comfort and battery life.
Sorry if this has been asked... I've searched and so far nothing. I just got my new Droid Eris. So far I love it, except for my text message sounds. My ringtone works as my new one. My notification sound plays my preference (Clapton's Layla) when I have an email and such, however, when I get a text message, it still plays the default sound. Is there somewhere you change this other than notification sounds?

I know there have been other threads about the Youtube app no longer working (majority of the time), but it looks like it hasn't been commented on in awhile.SO, I really want to get this phone but won't until I know the bug is fixed.Can you Eris users let me know if your Youtube app is working or not working? Almost [anytime?] I am speaking on the phone [with anyone?] I will intermittently get a "touch tone" sound blasted in my ear randomly. At first I thought it may have been because my ear/face was hitting a button on the screen, but this happens even when the keypad is hidden. The other odd thing is that it only seems to happen on MY end, the caller on the other end will *NEVER* hear it when I have asked.
I *do* use google voice for all my calls. I do not know if this happens outside of GV or if it has anything to do with it. Any ideas why this could be, or has anyone run into this issue?
Today it was in my mind because it was happening a LOT (every minute or so) when I was talking to one of my friends. I never took note about it happening more often with her vs. other people or not [honestly, I don't use TALK so much on my phone] but we had a longer conversation today and it kept happening randomly.
It's definitely coming through the headset and not out of the speaker (ie: it will drown out the voice on the other end), and I did disable all touch-tone sounds on the phone. It is the sound you would receive through a regular phone system through the headset, not a chinsy "beep" or something the phone itself would make, it's coming across the "line" but again only I am hearing it.
I've recently started working with the SoundPool class in SDK 1.1R1, and noticed that my app deadlocks from time to time, or sounds are not loaded. I remember reading, back in November, that this was to be addressed in the next SDK. I've used pretty much the same code that others have used and most of the time it works for a bit. Just a minute ago, the app completely crashed with no "Force Close" and returned to the home screen. Logcat reveals that "HeapWorker is wedged: 26577ms spent inside Landroid/media/SoundPool;.finalize()V" I'm not sure if this is the same issue others had with SoundPool or if I have encountered an entirely new beast.

The notification appears in the status bar, though. I have tried to reasearch the problem, but search involving the keyword prestigio doesn't yield much and in the general case, the problem is mostly reverse, i.e. the notifications popping up when they shouldn't.

In the last two days my external speakerhas stopped working but only after I change the profile to vib or silent then go back to normal. To get sound again I have to do a battery pull then it works again. So I have a feeling its a software issue. I wanted to know 1st if any one else has had this 2nd what do I want to use to back up to do a reset. And 3rd how do I do a reset.

It'll also start playing a song skip to another , then another then back to the original and then call my voicemail. Other times when I dont even have a music app open and try to send a text it'll start playing a song. Anyone have any clue what is going on?
