HTC Incredible :: Unrevoked3 - Having Trouble Rooting

Sep 29, 2010

I've searched for hours for this, so I apologize if it's answered elsewhere, I simply can not find a solution that works.when I start up Unrevoked for the Incredible, it says to plug my phone in. I do that, making sure it says debug mode is enabled in the drop-down pane. But the unrevoked screen doesn't change I've tried:
- mounting as disk drive
- "charge only"
- one Windows XP PC and one Windows 7 PC
- removed PdaNet and tried those options again
Nothing gets me past that screen. I tried looking for an HTC Sync app to uninstall, or setting to disable (since it says "make sure it is NOT installed"), but I wasn't able to find anything.

HTC EVO 4G :: Using Unprovoked For Linux

Nov 3, 2010

Has anyone rooted their EVO using unprovoked for Linux? I'm attempting to do so, but it's not quite working. I downloaded unprovoked 3 for Linux and it started up fine. I put my Evo in debug mode and started the unprovoked process. The process seemed to start okay, and I ended up in the hboot screen. However, when I scroll down to the hboot usb option it seemed to be looking for pcdiag.xx (goes by too quickly). After a few seconds it just came back to the default hboot screen. I also got the following in my Linux terminal: unrEVOked recovery reflash tool git version: 4f78f67, ERROR: n = -1, errno = 19 (No such device), What am I missing? Everything I read indicates that all I need to do is run the unprovoked program. Is there something else I need to have?

HTC EVO 4G :: Switching Root From Unprovoked Method

Oct 10, 2010

I rooted using a video i found on you tube. the process involved using unprovoked and amon_ra, i downgraded to 2.1 and loaded a stock sense 2.2. However, as i was exploring and reading up on roms i saw that many people said that unprovoked was a bad way to go due to some problems. So now im scared to load any roms/themes. is there a way for me to switch my root from the unprovoked method to the other method?

HTC Desire :: Does Unprovoked Provide A ROM / Need To Unlock Phone?

Aug 21, 2010

I'm thinking of debranding my Orange-locked Desrie using Unrevoked3 as it's supposed to be a doddle. I've downloaded the programmer, but before I attach my phone ot my computer and press go, I have four questions:
1. Do I need to unlock my phone first?
2. Do I need a goldcard?
3. Does Unprovoked provide a ROM or do I have to install that myself separately?
4. What does this actually do? Root? Debrand? What?

I was wondering if there's a way to know if it's a referb or brand new. They told me that they would note my account stating that I requested a new phone and not a referb, but they couldn't promise anything as they just take the next availible Inc (new or refurb) and process the order.
The rep also said that there aren't alot of parts floating around to mass produce refurbs..

HTC :: Voltage Difference B/w BB / Incredible Charger?

Apr 30, 2010

I forgot to bring my Droid Incredible charger with me to work. Since the battery was getting low I decided to use my BlackBerry Storm charger on it. The ports are the same, and it goes in without any problems. However, after doing this, it became difficult to unlock. Swiping down usually didn't work. If I was able to swipe down I couldn't get past the "password puzzle." I thought the phone was locked up so I pulled the battery, but it still wouldn't swipe after coming back up. I took the charger out and realized I could swipe again. I repeated this, again plugging the charger in and again I was unable to swipe to unlock. Is there a voltage difference between the BB charger and the Incredible charger? It seems like it was charging it fine. JuicePlotter shows a charge while it was plugged in.

HTC Incredible :: Data Plan Difference

Apr 18, 2010

So after reading some other questions on here, I'm still kind of confused about the point of buying the $45 vs. the $30 data plan. What's the benefit of the more expensive one? From what I had understood in the past is that the $45 is if you want your exchange account pushed and synced, which I thought implied that you did not get those exchange features on the $30 plan. One of the big needs I have is that I can get my college e-mails, on an exchange server, pushed/synced to/on my phone.

May 15, 2010

I have seen quite a few posts about FB notifications. However I don't get any of these. But I installed the Android version since the HTC version didn't have an Inbox. Is that why I don't get Facebook notifications, ie is that a difference between the 2 apps? The only notifications I get are emails that someone commented etc.

With the Blackberry version, those emails come in, but the FB app knows to take them over and remove the email so you aren't inundated with FB updates in your email Inbox.
