Why are the pics so small when there is an incoming call? I mean, you get this large green square area (that is like half the screen) and in the middle, at the top, is this postage size (if that) pic of the incoming caller's picture... any way to make it larger? Everything about this phone is SMALL... SMALL pics, SMALL text...

On the Droid X, the caller ID which is synced from my Facebook or Google account is very low quality and small in size/dimensions. Is there not a setting to show high res quality and to make it appear larger on the screen? I just switched from the Evo and know that it was a similar issue on there. just curious if there is a known work around for the Droid X. Other than that, I am very happy with this phone so far. The build quality is much much better than the Evo's.

Its a picture of a simcard with a small cog wheel in the bottom left of it.
I cant get rid of it and cant find anywhere a list of notification icons and what they mean?
I cant clear it, i can select the icon in the dropdown notification listing but it does nothing.
Anyone got an idea or a list of default notification icons and their explanations????
This is a HTC Magic with 1.5 on it.
I have and HTC Magic from Rogers. I do not use Rogers services as I live in Asia. It has the 1.6 system and has not been upgraded in any way. I am 50 and have trouble reading Gmail messages, The letters are too small. I can magnify the web browser so I can read the web sites but not gmail. How can I make gmail readable without wearing my glasses?

Presently am displaying html file in web view and my emulator size 1024*600. If the html file is large then user is scrolling down to see bottom part of the html. I Need to break these html file in equal parts so that it fits exactly in my screen size. I don't want User to Scroll Down but load remaining part (next page) next time.

When I increase text size, the character is no more displayed in the center of the button and the button's position gets shifted some pixels to the top (very strange).

I am trying to detect if the screen size is normal, large or small. I am using
Configuration conf =view.getResources().getConfiguration();
(conf.screenLayout&Configuration.SCREENLAYOUT_SIZE_MASK) == Configuration.SCREENLAYOUT_SIZE_NORMAL
When testing with the emulator this works for screen sizes normal and small, but large (480x800 & 480x854) returns that it is normal...
I have found very little information on using the configuration to detect the group, has anyone got any experience with this?
I've got a problem in saving a picture in a full size after capturing it using ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE intent the picture become very small , its resolution is 27X44.
I'm using 1.5 android emulator, this is the code:

All the pics I receive by MMS are tiny and apparently only 1kb in size. If I 'open' the pic, it can be stretched a bit, but being only 1kb, the resolution is terrible! I am on O2, but don't know if that's the problem?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to attach a picture file on my droid eris for a message, it automatically resizes it, only problem is, that the pictures were never too big to begin with, usually aroun100-300kb and then when it does resize it, it goes down to 12kb on average, a tiny picture with a big black frame on the screen. What gives? Using stock message program. No other complaints about the message program, so not looking to switch.

I know that I could simply get another dialer but I like Google's version. That blank space just bugs me.
I just don't get it: when I use the camera with an intent and also specify an output file, the returned image is always very small on many devices (e.g. Motorola Milestone 2.1, HTC Desire 2.1, Emulator 2.1, Emulator 2.0.1) but not on all (e.g. Nexus One). I know that MIUI uses a separate contact picture as a small icon (automatically downloaded), and a caller picture as a fullscreen picture when you get a call (manually set from gallery), as stated here. For me app Friendcaster automatically downloads my friends' facebook profile pictures in full size, and sets them as contact pictures. Can I use these automatically downloaded pictures as fullscreen caller pictures?

Ugly colors, minimal layout, contact picture too small, etc... So many other features on the phone are so polished, it just seems odd that the call screen would look so unfinished - it's almost looks like a development placeholder that they never got around to updating.

User would download the APP and then have access to an ever growing library of files they can then choose to download whatever they want from it.
Can this be done by a simple RSS reader?
I don't want the files available to anyone without the app installed. It would only be a text list of the files, clickable to download.

Is there anyway to make the Caller ID pics any bigger than what they are? I know you can make them clearer by using syncmypix but they are ridiculously small for this large of screen. 1- How do I make all the fonts larger. Inlcuding the default system font for menus, SMS, calendar, etc.
2- How do I set the color of the LED for different notifications. I use to have Blue for e-mail, green for SMS and red for calls.
3- How do I set the notifications to repeat periodically. I've always used 2 mins.
4a- In the favorites screen how can I have just a list of individuals. It wants to use a photo and I do not use these. The space for the photo is just wasted.
4b- In the favorites screen how can I set up the same individual for multiple items. For instance: John - Mobile and John - SMS.
4c- If some one is familiar with Quicklaunch for the BB then I really need something like that. If this exists the 4b is not relevant.
5- Is there an app that will make the keyboard letters larger.
6- Can I speed up the accelerometer. It is woefully slow.
7- How do I delete a downloaded app that I no longer want. (I already uninstalled) but it still shows up as downloaded.
I was looking at the Captivate and the iphone4 in store today and when comparing the same web pages in full page view the text on the Captivate was much smaller than the iphone4, even though the iphone screen is smaller. Zoom just made everything bigger so it wasn't in full page anymore. Is there a way to make the text bigger while in full page view? On a side note, that iphone4 screen is super sharp for text and the whites were much whiter vs the blueish tint on the Captivate.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI import VCF's with contact details from the company intranet into google contacts to get the details to my Magic (Vodafone, Android 1.6). This works just fine but the pictures get messed up:
Picture of person A ends up connected to the picture of person B or C. Pictures don't show up when dialing or incoming calls are received, they only show up when searching. Please note: in google contacts all looks fine. Again, I'm quite content with the way it works, the picture handling is just confusing.
I want make it support multiple screens(small,normal and large).I am 100% sure the all of layouts are working perfectly now, but large screen,the problem is that all XML files of layouts in layout-large can't load,The platform always load default XML file(these are under layout folder) at large screen environment.
