I've got a problem in saving a picture in a full size after capturing it using ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE intent the picture become very small , its resolution is 27X44.

This is my first post. I've had a Moto Droid since day one, and I just love it. It is without a doubt better than any phone that I've had over the years, and that includes the iPhone, BB, etc.
However, there are 2 things that I don't understand - Font size and a spell checker. It is imposiible to read the small font size in emails or text messages.
1. Why has there not been an app to either change the font size or be able to zoom in? Picasy has incorporated multi-touch for zooming, so I've to assume that its doable! Why not have the same in an email client.
2. Why is there not an email client out there that allows for spell checking? There are many such apps for the BB! I am a terrible speller.
I am not complaining, I just want to understand the limitations from a developers prospective, as I am sure these isuues will eventually be addressed.
I'm using a droid and am having problems with receiving picture messages that are the size of a penny! i can send full size pictures but when i receive them, it is sooo small. and when i stretch it out, it looks all blurry.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI added -scale 0.2 to the Default emulator option under eclipse and launched the emulator.After that I got a really small window. I then removed the -scale 0.2 but the emulator window remains small.I can start the emulator from command line and i get the normal size, but not with eclipse.Any help would be appreciated.

My problem is lets say I set my icon to 30x30 when I load the widget on the screen the Icon is the correct size but the layout itself takes up a lot more space than what is actually needed. This means that I can't really place my widget next to other icons on the screen. Its like the bounding box is 3 times bigger than the content that fills it.

I have tried wrap_content and other width/height settings but nothing seems to reduce the "Box" around my widget content. I clicked on my ATK widget and started to drag it around on my HTC Aria and it shows the bounding box around the widget and that one is the same size of the content inside same with all the other widgets on my screens.
My app uses a custom View that does a lot of text drawing.To ensure my text is always readable I've been using the result of calling getTextSize() on a newly-created Paint() instance as the minimum size. Docs say calling 'new Paint()' sets attributes like text size to default values.One of my European users just got a Motorola Milestone phone and reports that some text is unreadably small.I believe I've duplicated this using the WVGA854 skin in a 2.1 emulator.Run in that emulator my app's smallest TextViews look fine, but the text I'm drawing myself using Paint instances where I haven't changed the text size from the default is too small. I confirmed this by commenting out all setTextSize() calls in my View subclass: the text becomes too small to read comfortably.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just don't get it: when I use the camera with an intent and also specify an output file, the returned image is always very small on many devices (e.g. Motorola Milestone 2.1, HTC Desire 2.1, Emulator 2.1, Emulator 2.0.1) but not on all (e.g. Nexus One). Here's what I do to bring up the camera app:

All the pics I receive by MMS are tiny and apparently only 1kb in size. If I 'open' the pic, it can be stretched a bit, but being only 1kb, the resolution is terrible! I am on O2, but don't know if that's the problem?

When testing with the emulator this works for screen sizes normal and small, but large (480x800 & 480x854) returns that it is normal...
I have found very little information on using the configuration to detect the group, has anyone got any experience with this?

The measureText() call is returning a number that is obviously too small to display the string. When it runs through to find a font size that will allow the text to fit, the font size it settles on is still too big. I feel like there is some other kind of padding or margin or some other invisible that is contributing the math that makes up the width which is causing the discrepancy.For example I want to set the text of my FontFitTextView to be "10,000.25".The width of my FontFitTextView is 96 pixels, with 8px padding on both sides, so my available width is 80 pixels. The call to measureText() says that the text "10,000.25" is 64 pixels wide. This means that the current font size should be small enough to display the entire string. However, when the string is actually drawn on the TextView the last 2 characters are chopped off and all I see is "10,000." instead of "10,000.25"
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn the Droid X, the caller ID which is synced from my Facebook or Google account is very low quality and small in size/dimensions. Is there not a setting to show high res quality and to make it appear larger on the screen? I just switched from the Evo and know that it was a similar issue on there. just curious if there is a known work around for the Droid X. Other than that, I am very happy with this phone so far. The build quality is much much better than the Evo's.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to attach a picture file on my droid eris for a message, it automatically resizes it, only problem is, that the pictures were never too big to begin with, usually aroun100-300kb and then when it does resize it, it goes down to 12kb on average, a tiny picture with a big black frame on the screen. What gives? Using stock message program. No other complaints about the message program, so not looking to switch.

View 18 Replies View RelatedI uploaded a couple of pics I had taken with my Evo on Androidforums and when I did I notice everyones pics in the thread were allot bigger than my pics.I had the 5.3 widescreen turned on and they told me to take it off. I did and tried taking new pics and seeing the results. The pictures did come out a a bit bigger but when I tried resizing them in photobucket the quality would be effected which makes no sense since 8m is goog enough to make a huge poster whith amazing quality.
There was also people with much bigger pics than the ones I had resized and made as big as photobucket let me and they were perfect high quality while mine which were smaller were loosing quality.
I know that MIUI uses a separate contact picture as a small icon (automatically downloaded), and a caller picture as a fullscreen picture when you get a call (manually set from gallery), as stated here. For me app Friendcaster automatically downloads my friends' facebook profile pictures in full size, and sets them as contact pictures. Can I use these automatically downloaded pictures as fullscreen caller pictures?

Its a picture of a simcard with a small cog wheel in the bottom left of it.
I cant get rid of it and cant find anywhere a list of notification icons and what they mean?
I cant clear it, i can select the icon in the dropdown notification listing but it does nothing.

Specifically i am looking for something that can compress a photo / picture to a small enough size that it can be emailed / MMS'd.
Is it just me or does the call screen (what displays when there is an incoming/active/ended call) look like crap? Ugly colors, minimal layout, contact picture too small, etc... So many other features on the phone are so polished, it just seems odd that the call screen would look so unfinished - it's almost looks like a development placeholder that they never got around to updating.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn my application, I will get a instance of android.graphics.picture which is populated by user. Then I use writeToStream to save. After save, I have to check the file size. If the size is too large, then I should delete this file.
I think this save-check-delete operation is not reasonable. I prefer to check the size of android.graphics.picture. If the size is too large, I should not save to local. But I checked android.graphics.picture, it only have getHeight and getWidth member functions.

My DInc takes great pictures in the day, and my so-so night pics can now be fixed to look quite decent. Anyway, question is this. When I chose to get a picture to edit, it asked me what size I wanted for it. I chose maximum size and chose the option to always pick that size. I normally take pics in 8 megs, will a photo edited by Picsay be lower in quality than the original, or just about the same? Also, is there any way I can default the app to just ask me what size I want to edit pics in? (Rather than maximum size being the default)

It appears these messages appear.. I guess my question is, why is the picture size stuck at 213x350? If I set my picture size to 640x480 it fails.

As title - having tried everything I could find already suggested, I've completely run out of options. I'm unable to set the picture size taken by the camera on the Samsung Galaxy.
I don't set preview size anywhere and I've tried the ShutterCallback trick. On checking the camera parameters before and after attempting to change the size, I get the correct results - the camera *reports* that its size has now been changed... however, the size of the byte array I'm receiving in the onPictureTaken() callback is only consistent with the camera's default (enormous) image - and forces an OutOfMemoryError when I attempt to decode it into a bitmap!

No matter what I do I cannot make the final camera image be smaller than the gigantic 5MP which effectively crashes the poor old BitmapFactory.
The ShutterCallback trick is in use. Does somebody have some other ideas?
Boy, it feels like going all the way back to J2ME.
I have a picture that i want as my background on the EVO but the thing is that I don't want it to take up all seven screens just the home screen. The rest of the screens could have a black background for all I care. So my question is HOW do i do this or go about doing this. If it helps I will also post the picture of what I want as my wallpaper.
