I have and HTC Magic from Rogers. I do not use Rogers services as I live in Asia. It has the 1.6 system and has not been upgraded in any way. I am 50 and have trouble reading Gmail messages, The letters are too small. I can magnify the web browser so I can read the web sites but not gmail. How can I make gmail readable without wearing my glasses?

Why are the pics so small when there is an incoming call? I mean, you get this large green square area (that is like half the screen) and in the middle, at the top, is this postage size (if that) pic of the incoming caller's picture... any way to make it larger? Other then that field, there will be four other INT fields and a text field. The string field will probably be a 2 or 3 sentences long. Its a picture of a simcard with a small cog wheel in the bottom left of it.
I cant get rid of it and cant find anywhere a list of notification icons and what they mean?
I cant clear it, i can select the icon in the dropdown notification listing but it does nothing.
Anyone got an idea or a list of default notification icons and their explanations????

I know this has most likely been discussed many times. But I am looking for a decent email widget.
At the moment I am using the default htc email widget, however when ever I read an email from my gmail account it doesnt update the read status so it still shows as unread.
I would like one that would update the read status and possible the support for unified inbox so I can see new mail from hotmail account and gmail.
I bought a new HTC Majic from Rogers,Canada but it just support English&French .. I want to be able to read Arabic is there any way to read arabic in HTC Majic?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was looking at the Captivate and the iphone4 in store today and when comparing the same web pages in full page view the text on the Captivate was much smaller than the iphone4, even though the iphone screen is smaller. Zoom just made everything bigger so it wasn't in full page anymore. Is there a way to make the text bigger while in full page view? On a side note, that iphone4 screen is super sharp for text and the whites were much whiter vs the blueish tint on the Captivate.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThis is my first post. I've had a Moto Droid since day one, and I just love it. It is without a doubt better than any phone that I've had over the years, and that includes the iPhone, BB, etc.
However, there are 2 things that I don't understand - Font size and a spell checker. It is imposiible to read the small font size in emails or text messages.
1. Why has there not been an app to either change the font size or be able to zoom in? Picasy has incorporated multi-touch for zooming, so I've to assume that its doable! Why not have the same in an email client.
2. Why is there not an email client out there that allows for spell checking? There are many such apps for the BB! I am a terrible speller.
I am not complaining, I just want to understand the limitations from a developers prospective, as I am sure these isuues will eventually be addressed.
I have people that have gmail accounts on my phone. The problem is that some of them automatically links to that gmail account and others don't. For instance contact #1 has a gmail account I can see the picture that they update on their gmail account and statuses but contact #2 doesn't show anything from there gmail account. Is there a way to get this contacts to all link to there gmail, if they have a gmail account?

If it continues, call customer care. Keeps appearing after I tried signing into my gmail account. There is data inside my phone which I wish to keep it. My Backup manager isn't working.

On my previous phone, I could have the phone read the name of the person who was calling out loud (it would say: "Call from...and then their name). I came in handy because I like to have the same ring for everyone and just let the phone tell me who's calling. I haven't been able to find an app or setting for this.

I can see the folders that I've created a long time ago but nothing is in them. I read a couple of threads saying that I should enable labels but I'm not sure how to do that on the Incredible. View 2 Replies View RelatedI was a bit disappointed with the included email client on my magic (UK vodafone), by which I don't mean the gmail app but the "other one". It seems it doesn't like to mark emails as read. Anyway, I thought, since the gmail app is pretty neat and I have a long-time gmail account I'd use it to manage all my email accounts via POP (hotmail and yahoo and one other gmail).
I've set this up fine and online, via my desktop and I've set up a different label for each account with different colors. (i.e. Hotmail = red, yahoo = green) However, when I view my emails on the magic, all the labels are the incorrect colour. In fact they are all blue. Why is this?
I have a new Rogers HTC Magic. When I check my Gmail I can only view the last message in the conversation. None of the preceding messages in the same conversation can be viewed. The screen only displays the first few words of the prior message. When I click on those words nothing happens. The only way I can view the previous messages is to press menu and then select "mark unread". Is there no other way of viewing the other previous messages in the same conversation?

In my case they remain "unread" until I go through message. Is this normal? If it is, is there any way around this? If it's not normal, how do I go about making sure it syncs?

But on random times, not very often, I suddenly get a message, saying I have new unread Gmail email. When I look at my Gmail inbox, my inbox is totally up to date! I think this is very strange, because I had 3G and WIFI disabled when I retreived these mails. Can Gmail email be retreived via the 2G network? As far as I know, email can not be retrieved via GPRS or other 2G network.
Is there an e-mail app where I can configure my gmail, yahoo mail and hotmail all at the same place?
