Is it just me or does the call screen (what displays when there is an incoming/active/ended call) look like crap? Ugly colors, minimal layout, contact picture too small, etc... So many other features on the phone are so polished, it just seems odd that the call screen would look so unfinished - it's almost looks like a development placeholder that they never got around to updating.

I know that MIUI uses a separate contact picture as a small icon (automatically downloaded), and a caller picture as a fullscreen picture when you get a call (manually set from gallery), as stated here. For me app Friendcaster automatically downloads my friends' facebook profile pictures in full size, and sets them as contact pictures. Can I use these automatically downloaded pictures as fullscreen caller pictures?

Not that I haven't mess with them before but I found it strange. Also got a small screen that popped up once when I went into applications saying Sim on/off with the choices to click ok or cancel. I'm baffled. Any help would be appreciated. Might just walk into AT&T for a replacement...

1)Has anyone found a way to change which picture is displayed for a linked contact? On the HTC Aria, you could choose whether you wanted the picture from Gmail or the one from Facebook.
2)Has anyone found a way to change the displayed name in Contacts. Again, on the HTC Aria, you could pick whether to display the name from your Gmail contact or the one from the Facebook contact.
Did anyone notice that you can't use the camera to take a picture/video when you are on a call? First phone I've owned to prevent this.

They almost look like LEDs (although I realize they aren't, or shouldnt be). You can see them in the owners manual pics but they arent labeled on their diagram, and I can't figure out what they are.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was looking at the Captivate and the iphone4 in store today and when comparing the same web pages in full page view the text on the Captivate was much smaller than the iphone4, even though the iphone screen is smaller. Zoom just made everything bigger so it wasn't in full page anymore. Is there a way to make the text bigger while in full page view? On a side note, that iphone4 screen is super sharp for text and the whites were much whiter vs the blueish tint on the Captivate.

When I go to send a text message and press contacts, my contacts are there multiple times, but I can't see any differences because they are named the same. View 2 Replies View RelatedI upgraded (through tmobile) from a G1 (which I had since launch date, and loved until it just became too slow and all support ended) three weeks ago. I went to the tmobile store, and checked out the options. I LOVED the Vibrant, but I had some concerns over it's apparent "flimsieness"... the sales rep assured me that it only felt breakable, and that the Gorilla Glass screen and other features of the construction made it just as durable as all other phones. So, I got it.
I love it, still.
Thing is, last night, I picked it up off my desk, and it would not unlock. When I looked closer, I could see a small crack running under the screen. The phone has never been dropped, never been hit with any impact... nothing. It has never been out of my possession, never been water damaged... nothing. But, now, it has this cracked screen and won't unlock, won't do anything. Plus, now this morning it is showing a completely pink screen.
Of course, I know these (and all tiny little smartphones) are fragile. I have insurance for that very reason. If I break my phone, I am more than willing to pay the $130 through insurance to replace it. But, I do not feel like I (or anyone else, for that matter) broke this thing. The most impact it has had on the screen is button use on the touchscreen. If this thing is going to do this as a result of normal (actually, probably lighter-than-normal) use, I feel like it is insane for tmobile to expect me to pay for the claim. I do not think it is reasonable to ask a customer to pay $130 for a new phone 3 weeks into owning it, when it has not been damaged due to any human error or damage.
I had a Ghost Armor protector on it, and it was in a plastic protective shell, and it shows NO signs of damage beyond the messed up screen. I feel like that, coupled with the GPS thing (the awesome GPS was the second main selling point the sales rep spouted, after the Gorilla Glass screen!) and the fact that tmobile inexplicably removed my unlimited text option ("accidentally" according to them), should mean something to someone.
So, any ideas for options here? Is there ANY chance that I can tmobile's warranty people to regard this as a warranty issue and not an insurance issue? I do not want to be $400 into a new phone after just 3 weeks, especially with no solid GPS, no Froyo, and the other issues. I have been with tmobile for 5 years, and always justified it by their good customer service; so how can i get that customer care to work for ME now?
I've got a problem in saving a picture in a full size after capturing it using ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE intent the picture become very small , its resolution is 27X44.

All the pics I receive by MMS are tiny and apparently only 1kb in size. If I 'open' the pic, it can be stretched a bit, but being only 1kb, the resolution is terrible! I am on O2, but don't know if that's the problem?

View 4 Replies View RelatedOn the Droid X, the caller ID which is synced from my Facebook or Google account is very low quality and small in size/dimensions. Is there not a setting to show high res quality and to make it appear larger on the screen? I just switched from the Evo and know that it was a similar issue on there. just curious if there is a known work around for the Droid X. Other than that, I am very happy with this phone so far. The build quality is much much better than the Evo's.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to attach a picture file on my droid eris for a message, it automatically resizes it, only problem is, that the pictures were never too big to begin with, usually aroun100-300kb and then when it does resize it, it goes down to 12kb on average, a tiny picture with a big black frame on the screen. What gives? Using stock message program. No other complaints about the message program, so not looking to switch.

I bought 2 Epics last night was so excited! I like the phone except for a couple of things that i have noticed one of them being the wobble oreo effect that I seem to have on both phones and I just noticed I have dead pixels on both phones! I am so disappointed and don't know what to do? The pixels are one to two tiny black specks that can be seen on light background screen colors.
