does anybody know if there is any update on how to save apps to SD card instead of the internal memory? or even moving them to the SD card. Im using HTC legend
I have a htc legend.Im very happy with it but i still have one question. Is it true that apps are installed on internal memory?because i install very much apps. so my mobile is starting to lag. already have a kill all background taskmanager and stuff.but still lags? so maybe is there a way to install an apk file from the internet to the sd card so its not on internal memory?

View 3 Replies View RelatedRunning Froyo on my Desire. Have forced almost all my app's onto SD, apart from ones that run in background and update data. Still getting the annoying "low on memory" notification. Q. Is there a way to see exactly what applications are taking up the available memory space?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSince moving to Froyo I have noticed a problem.there are only a few apps at the moment that you are able to move to the SD card and I have noticed that when you I do move the app my internal memory does not increase back up. eg: say i have 110mb free internal memory and I install a 10mb app knocking internal down to 100mb if I "move app to SD card" it does transfer but my internal is still 100mb. Am i being completely stupid and missing something or have any of you guys had a similar prob?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am about to get my first Android phone. It is a Motorola Flipside (I am on a budget and I need a physical keyboard; hopefully, if you didn't hate me for posting a new thread you will not hate me for buying a Flipside). The phone comes with Eclair, but can be upgraded to Froyo. When I do this, I know that I will have less than 100MB of free space (could be as little as 60MB) on the internal hard drive, but I am not sure how much less, and I don't want to mess around with moving too much bloatware or rooting. In order to get the apps that I have preselected to all fit, I'm going to need to get them in a certain order. I should get the ones that I can move to SD first, and then get the ones that are not able to be moved.
I have heard that App 2 SD is a good program, although Froyo can probably do it on its own. Do I need App 2 SD?
I am wondering which of the following large-ish apps can be moved so that I don't need to install apps only to be forced to delete them because they cannot be moved:
1. Battleheart
2. Battleloot
3. Modern Conflict
4. Plague, Inc.
Firts off, I would like to say hi to everyone, since this is my first post. Also, sorry if this topic has been discussed already, but I did a search and was unable to find what I needed. Alright, lets get to the question. I have a Moto Droid and just recently I received a notification about running out of internal memory space. Is there a way to move the apps from my internal memory to my SD card without rooting the phone? If this is not possible is there any way to free up more internal memory space?

View 2 Replies View RelatedHad my Legend for about a month and a half now and I've started getting 'low phone memory' errors. Looked in the memory lists and it says the only 'biggies' are maps at 4mb each (and there's 4 of them?) and 'HTC mail' at 116mb. I only have my hotmail account, texts, and Gmail and they're all empty. Not really got that many applications installed (4 or 5) and had to remove some just to get the phone to stop reminding me. I've emptied the drafts, trash and cache and it made little to no difference.

View 10 Replies View RelatedMy son got an HTC Legend a few months ago & didn't register his Google account. In order to do so now he has to do a factory reset. Unfortunately, a lot of his contacts are stored on the phone & there's no room on the Sim for them. He tried downloading My Backup via the internet to move them to the SD card but the app requires a Google account which he can't register until he's done the factory reset. Are there any apps or tricks available to move his contacts to the SD card that don't require him deleting them in the first place to do it, or is he going to have to buy a pen & paper?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have purchased a HTC Legend about 3 weeks ago and am very satisfied with this cell phone. My only concern is related to the reliability of the "mechanical keys" (Home, Menu, Return and Search) . I have interacted a lot with my cell phone and verified that I need to press the Home button many and many times to leave an application in order to go back to the main menu to get access to another application.
I would like to know if there is some application to create an icon in the Notification bar (on the top of the touch screen) in order to return to Home screen. This seems to be an interesting solution because the Notification bar is always active, regardless of the application that is running. In this case, the user could access it through the touch screen and avoid using the mechanical keys all the time, so that the user would not need to worry with the life time of the mechanical keys.
I need help to get my apps to the memory card instead of phone memory, how do I do that?

I can't say how much a love this phone and am a bit ashamed that I didn't realize how great android devices were. So far I have been able to find out on my own how to do pretty much everything I needed done except for one thing.
I work in music hence have a lot of music on my phone. I didn't want to restart the cataloging process of recreating playlist after playlist. So i found a solution to transfer my itunes to my phone.
I did this with Air Sync and DoubleTwist. The main problem I have is it put all of my music on my internal memory card and now it is full. I have a 32gb external SD card that is empty right now and was wondering if there is a solution to quickly transfer all of my music from the internal memory to the SD card. Furthermore I would like for the air sync / doubleTwist software to put all future music on the SD card as well.
Recently talked Tmobile into sending me a Slide, and letting me keep the BHII. Used one of BH Man's roms to take the BHII back to stock to get it ready for resale. Now, i cannot load any apps onto the phone because it says "not enough memory". Checking the memory settings shows 0 Maximum, 0 available. I've done a factory reset, i've reflashed the rom twice, still no memory.

I have a HTC Legend phone and I would like to get extra Apps. The obvious place (to me) is via the Google Marketplace but I am unable to get my phone to connect to Google. It bombs out when trying to contact the Google server. This happens despite the fact that the phone has a good mobile signal and is connected to the Internet via the wifi. How else can I find Apps and get them onto my phone?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had the legend now for quite a few weeks since it was launched and my initial excitement with the phone lead me to install a lot of interesting apps from the market, after a couple of weeks usage I was pleased with the Legend apart from battery life not getting much more than 12 hours usage which lead me to use the device along with a small nokia incase the battery died on the HTC. I was having trouble with facebook and exchange contact information not syncing so I did a complete factory reset which cured the syncing but I have also not reinstalled many apps because I haven't had the time. My point is I am now getting nearly 48 hrs from a charge without any battery apps like JuiceDefender or similar which leads me to think the terrible battery life was down to one or more apps using up the power while idle, I am now wary of installing any apps and would like some sort of rating on these apps that show how efficient or not theses apps are. If I do install an app I might wait at least two weeks before installing another to test its battery friendliness.
