View 3 Replies View RelatedHad my Legend for about a month and a half now and I've started getting 'low phone memory' errors. Looked in the memory lists and it says the only 'biggies' are maps at 4mb each (and there's 4 of them?) and 'HTC mail' at 116mb. I only have my hotmail account, texts, and Gmail and they're all empty. Not really got that many applications installed (4 or 5) and had to remove some just to get the phone to stop reminding me. I've emptied the drafts, trash and cache and it made little to no difference.

Now, I want to open & read the file content from phone's internal memory to UI. I tried to do it by using the FileInputStream, I have given just filename with extension to open it but I am not sure how to mention the file path for file in internal memory, as it forces the application to close.

Does anyone know how to access the internal storage memory using ES File Explorer? I have tried going up and down the folder hierarchy and can never find it.I've read that Astro File Manager can access it but I prefer using ES File Explorer and don't want to have two file managers on my DI.I am surprised at this stage of Android that a file explorer is not included in the OS.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo recently I got lack of internal memory(it is only 512MB though) and I tried to swap internal memory with microSD(marked as sdcard2). However, Im noob in this and after changing the lines I understood, that I changed sdcard with sdcard2(swapped sdcard and sdcard2), however, my android system seems to be not working now. I can boot and access settings, but thats all. No menu, no apps, no anything. Empty screen, only settings accessible. I cannot access any files or anything...
What I tried:
- Connecting phone to PC as I have Android Commander program which can browse system files from pc, unfortunately, failed to connect.
- Factory reset. Didnt work.
- Recovery mode - tried all options that are available, didnt work.
The phone is Prestigio Multiphone PAP4300 DUO. When I boot to the phone, I unlock it and I get many messages saying com.android.phone, system and such things stopped working. When pressing HOME button, it goes to home, but its empty(empty screen) and tells Launcher stopped working too. All I can do is access the settings. Cant call anyone though.
What to say to warranty service when I will bring the phone to them. Can they recognize that its rooted/that the vold.fstab file is modified?

That looks to be white, but mine is black. I rooted it only. Havent done any changes to the phone until yesterday - swap the memories.

Recently my the screen stoped working on my phone so I pulled the battery to get it back working. After I put it back in the phone was completely reset, no contacts, no messages, no email, no downloads. I use google sync to recover all my contacts and such but when I cut the phone off and cut it back on again it is completely reset again and this trends continues time and time again. . and to make matters worse its saying that I have zero internal memory to install my apps again from the marketplace.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThere are a couple of options within the browser I didn't find until after searching for it, so I thought I would share it with the rest of the community in order to help out.
-Everyone should clear the browser cache and previous history in order to save internal phone memory. To do this go to BROWSER press the MENU button and press MORE. There should be a list of things in there but what you should be interested in is the last item which is SETTINGS. From there in privacy settings there will be options to clear both cache and history.
- Another little tip I wanted to share was viewing webpages in landscape mode without opening your keyboard. To do this simply press the MENU button from within the BROWSER and go down to FLIP ORIENTATION. You should realize tho by doing this you browser will continue to be in landscape the next time it's used. In order to return it to it's normal portrait mode just follow these steps once again.
-There are a number of other things you can mess around with or find with the MENU button within the browser so just take a look at it yourself even if you don't want to do any of these tips.
I have free space on the internal memory of my phone that is not recognized for things like installing an app.
This is my phone:
Model: Motorola XT919
Android version: jelly bean 4.1.2
Internal memory: 4gb (really 2,2 gb free since the rest is used by the OS)
Rooted: Yes
I found out about this problem because I was running out of internal space so I inmediately checked the storage settings and I found this:
In the installed apps settings it shows 766 mb free of internal space But in the storage settings the things are different: As you can see, this time I only have 127 mb free of internal storage....
Just to be sure, I downloaded the app Storage Analyser and once again checked the internal storage free space: And this time shows 1,52 gb free...
Well the thing is that my phone considers as free space just the 127mb shown on storage settings, and I want the phone also uses the free space shown on the app settings or the one shown by storage analyser.
I decided to do a factory wipe and nand restore on my phone because the internal memory was low. The wipe went fine but when I try to do a nand restore I get this message. Error : run 'nandroid-mobile.sh restore' via adb. What cause this? Is my recovery messed up?

View 12 Replies View RelatedThe Dinc has a lot of internal memory but what use is it? Most apps do not see media in internal memory. Now with Froyo coming I see some discussions on the ability to install apps to the SD. Why? What are they freeing the space up for? I have a 16GB SD and space isn't really a factor for me. But, isn't internal memory faster than card access? How can I best use that space?
