Is it possible to remove the pre installed apps from my legend,Apps such as peep / stocks / talk ect I simply wont use or will i? According to the manual you keep your finger on it until you get a red ring around it and then drag it to the bottom of the screen to the delete bin. Have tried this and it doesnt work? Help please and also what would people recommend to delete from the pre installed apps

I have a htc legend.Im very happy with it but i still have one question.Is it true that apps are installed on internal memory?because i install very much apps. so my mobile is starting to lag. already have a kill all background taskmanager and stuff.but still lags? so maybe is there a way to install an apk file from the internet to the sd card so its not on internal memory?

If I can't remove them, then I can't use the bulk install option and have to manually start all the installs.

I flashed the phone but thereafter it would only turn on, pull up the MotoBlur sign in and have a date of 12/31/1969 at 7PM. I can't sign in to MotoBlur at that point and have to basically reinstall the most recent update and start from scratch again. All I want to do is remove those pre-installed apps that I never use.

What struck me was the amount of apps or widgets for things I'll never use cluttering the screens. Can these be removed or is this all linked to the OS? A brief search on this matter on related threads seems to indicate only on "rooted" phones.

The htc legend has a different interface, which is unuasble to me. It seems that htc did some customization of android.
Especially the phone interface is terrible where the android interface was good.
How can I remove that htc crap and get closer to the original android interface ?
I've got a HTC Legend and i'm having a problem with plugging it in to charge via usb.
I use a usb dock plugged into my win 7 machine. I've always had it set to "Charge Only" and change it to mount as disk drive when I require.
However, just starting from yesterday, every time I plugged the phone it, it would mount as a disk drive and show up in windows. Strangely though, the phone still shows in the notification bar that it's "Charge only", but i can't access anything on the sd card from the phone. The only way to fix it while it's plugged in is to change it to "DIsk Drive" then back to "Charge only" via the notification bar on the phone.
I've checked the settings and it's definitely still defaulted to "Charge only" in there but obviously it's not doing it!
Is there any way I can extract the .apk for an app I downloaded and installed from the market? So I can store the .apk on my PC

It bombs out when trying to contact the Google server. This happens despite the fact that the phone has a good mobile signal and is connected to the Internet via the wifi. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had the legend now for quite a few weeks since it was launched and my initial excitement with the phone lead me to install a lot of interesting apps from the market, after a couple of weeks usage I was pleased with the Legend apart from battery life not getting much more than 12 hours usage which lead me to use the device along with a small nokia incase the battery died on the HTC. I was having trouble with facebook and exchange contact information not syncing so I did a complete factory reset which cured the syncing but I have also not reinstalled many apps because I haven't had the time. My point is I am now getting nearly 48 hrs from a charge without any battery apps like JuiceDefender or similar which leads me to think the terrible battery life was down to one or more apps using up the power while idle, I am now wary of installing any apps and would like some sort of rating on these apps that show how efficient or not theses apps are. If I do install an app I might wait at least two weeks before installing another to test its battery friendliness.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased an unlocked HTC Desire. As you may or may not know, here in Australia the only carrier of the Desire is Telstra. However I use 3 mobile so that's the reason I purchased an unlocked device.
My problem is that my phone has about a dozen or more apps which are installed by Telstra and uninstallable. Most of them are 100% useless because I'm not even on their network and I'd like them out of my applications list.
I've had a read around and I saw something about being able to remove them by deleting the file and then uninstalling them using a command prompt program.
Would anyone please be able to give me detailed instructions on how to do this because I'm not sure how to find the system/apps folder and I'm also not sure on how to get the command prompt thing to work.
