HTC Incredible : Need File Manager That Reads DINC's Internal Memory
Jul 14, 2010Is anyone aware of a file manager that can read both the internal DINC memory and the SD card? Perhaps I'm missing something, but I've tried both ASTRO File Manager and ES File Explorer with no success.

Oct 25, 2010So my Dinc which I bought on launch day blew the front speaker yesterday. I called Verizon and they are shipping me a brand new Dinc out today. My question is, I have already rooted my phone and installed like 50 apps on it with tons of other crap, settings, data, etc. I have made multiple nandroid backups and titanium backups. Can I just save the backups on my SD card then get my hands on the new Dinc, root that one as well then use my backups on the SD card to just load everything on to the new phone so I don't have to go through the process of re-setting up my entire phone again?

Nov 8, 2010By default, files saved to the internal storage are private to your application and other applications cannot access them (nor can the user).I am able to see the file "/data/data/package_name/files/ in file explore in DDMS, but when i attached the above file URI using imageUri in email , then i saw that attached file is of 0kb.i have used the default email APIs of Android.Can anyone suggest me ,how to attach a file in email that is private to the application?although i am successful able to save the file in SD card and attaching the file from SD card , this is working fine.But if SD card is not available and saving the file to the internal storage , then how can i attach them in email.

Feb 25, 2009I am trying to launch an Intent to send an email. All of that works, but when I try to actually send the email a couple 'weird' things happen.So if I launch using the Gmail menu context It shows the attachment, lets me type who the email is to, and edit the body & subject. No big deal. I hit send, and it sends. The only thing is the attachment does NOT get sent.I figured, why not try it w/ the Email menu context (for my backup email account on my phone). It shows the attachment, but no text at all in the body or subject. When I send it, the attachment sends correctly. That would lead me to believe something is quite wrong. Do I need a new permission in the Manifest launch an intent to send email w/ attachment? What am I doing wrong?

Nov 26, 2010I can send picture MMS on my Fascinate but everytime I want to attach a file and choose camera (take the picture right now) it never sends the picture I take, it sends a picture I took about 3 months ago, that is not even on my phone. Jul 9, 2010I have an Android app that saves a text file directly onto the phone, in the app's install directory. I need to allow the user to create a new email, attaching this saved text file. When I start the intent to send the email, everything shows up in Gmail correctly, but the attachment does not get sent. All of my searches on stack overflow seem to only deal with attaching an image file from the SD card. Below is the code that I used. Please let me know if I have done something incorrectly.

General :: HTC Dinc - Cannot Sync Mobile File
Nov 9, 2011Running HTC Dinc..I typically buy my movies and tv shows from Amazon and I use their unbox app to download them to my pc. This includes a full size file and a mobile file. The mobile file downloads as a .amzn extension and the only way to get the file to work on a mobile device is to sync it through the unbox app.
the HTC Dinc is not a supported device thus I cannot sync the mobile file, and the regular files are DRM'd up the wazoo and also dont work. Need to get either of these types of files to work on my Dinc? How to get DRM'd amazon videos to work on android.

Jul 6, 2010The battery in the Magellan in my car died and I didn't have a charger with me. So I pressed my DInc into service as a GPS unit. I must admit it performed remarkably well. The user interface on it wasn't as smooth as the Magellan, but the Magellan is designed to function as a GPS and only a GPS and the DInc isn't. The only problem I had with it is I couldn't see the screen as the screen was washed out in the sunlight. Is there any way to combat this? How can I use this as a GPS replacement if I can't see the screen?

Aug 11, 2010So I finallly talked the wife into a DINC from her old Samsung slider. I let her play with mine a bit (my PHONE! get your mind out of the gutter) and she went monday and ordered it from our local Verizon store. FedEx left a call tag today and I'm about to run out to our local hub and pick it up for her (2 day delivery !) Anyhow - the CSR at the Verizon store said "when you get your phone - make an appointment with me and I'll activate for you". We're leaving tomorrow for a short trip - and I really don't feel like postponing it for a couple hours just to get a phone activated. Are we able to activate these ourselves? When I got mine - I left the store for an hour or two and when I came back I was all set to go.

Aug 26, 2010My DINC seems to be overheating a lot lately. Checking System Panel I see temperatures as high as 109. The symptoms are as follows: when using to browse the internet, check Face book and do email, continually for 30+ minutes - temp 102 - charging on Verizon Auto Charger - temp 109 - GPS for 2-3 hours - temp 104. Have brought this to Verizon's attention 4 times. Each time it was noted, I was told that they could not recreate it. Finally, after it getting to the 109 temp, I called and was told take it in and tell the store to exchange it. So, my questions are: 1 - has anyone else seen temps like this? 2 - if they take the phone and exchange, I lose all my apps, correct? Is there any way for me to get them to the SD card prior? 3 - do I try to get a different phone altogether?

I'm going to get it replaced and am really considering the Dinc.I've found that I rarely use the slide out keyboard on the D1 because of the Swype keyboard love that thing.I'm looking for some insight on the Dinc and especially how it compares to the D1.How does Sense work? I have a screen protector on it and use the plastic verizon case and I take the case off, wipe it down with the cloth the provide with the screen protector, sides, back front and the screen protector itself.Then I wipe down the plastic case itself.Put it back together and it looks so nice.
