Aug 30, 2010Anyone have any luck with this app actually removing ads? I followed the instructions on Jonamerica's page with no luck actually removing ads.

HTC Incredible :: Removing HTC Apps?
May 3, 2010Does it bother anybody else that you can't delete the pre-loaded apps? I don't tweet, will never tweet lol. But damned if I can remove the tweet apps from my list of apps to keep down on clutter. There are several others that can go by the wayside as well, if I could figure out how.

This is my first android phone (coming from a BB) and I could usually remove apps from the listing of core apps in the desktop software, but haven't learned how to do this with the Android OS. The specific apps I'm talking about are the ones that came on the phone like Twitter, Flickr, and Peep.

May 26, 2010On my way to work I use the headphones attached to my Incredible to listen to iHeartRadio/Padora, etc. Once I get to work I make sure I kill the applications that I am not using, including the music applications. Once they are killed I remove the headphones from the phone. The problem is that once I remove the headphones, the music application automatically starts and plays over the speaker on the phone eventhough the applications were killed before I disconnect the headphones. The only way to stop the music from playing is to task kill it again after I disconnect the headphones.I am using the headphones supplied by the Blackberry Storm that have the microphone.

Jun 8, 2010I am trying to remove an Exchange account from my DI. When I go to delete the account, it asks me for a password.
I have entered the password/PIN I use to unlock the phone. No good. I have entered the password I use to access the Exchange server. No good.
I have no freaking idea what password the phone is asking me for. Right now it seems my only option is maser reset of the phone, re-install everything...
HTC Incredible :: Removing Boot Animation Completely?
Jul 30, 2010Is it possible to completely remove the boot animation? I'd have to assume the phone would boot faster, and anyway, I don't need all these flashy things and sounds playing when I turn on my phone.
I thought about just removing the zip file thingy whose name I can't remember, but won't that just make it do the default animation?

Nov 6, 2010I have looked and looked and I guess I'm not entirely sure what to call it so I'll try here.Whenever I plug my DINC into the usb on my laptop there is an auto run file that launches my browser on my computer and opens a verizon web page for their media manager thing that I don't use or want.What and where is that file?I just can't seem to be able to find it.I have a rooted Inc and have been using root explorer to wash out all the unwanted stuff but can't seem to get this one.If this has already been asked, sorry for the repeat. Like I said I caouldn't find the topic.

Aug 27, 2010Installed the leaked update minus the bloatware, and was trying to remove more, but there are a couple that don't seem to work such as PDF viewer, and News and Weather Reader.
I'm using these commands:
mv /system/app/PDFViewer.apk /system/app.disabled/
mv /system/app/NewsReader.apk /system/app.disabled/
mv /system/app/com.htc.NewsReaderWidget.apk /system/app.disabled/
Anyone been able to remove these two apps?

Nov 18, 2010I partitioned my SD for app2sd and now that im having some problems (may or may not be related to the app2sd) i want to remove it. I booted in to recovery and did partition. set the ext and swap to 0 and the remaining for fat and it chewed for a min and then smiled and carried on. yet it was still there. i went in to ADB shell and ran parted /dev/block/mmcblk0 and printed a list (saw all 3) and did rm 1 rm 2 rm 3, printed again, all still there. i found the log that the recovery wipe made and it did the same thing i did and it showed an error saying it cant create overlapping partitions (because they were never deleted)
so, from recovery i mounted the SD to windows, went in to diskpart and removed them there, which seemed to work, but again, its still the same... disk manager as well.. no luck is there some sort of lock im missing? why on earth cant i delete and recreate my partitions? these are the steps i took to get the app2sd working

Jul 29, 2010I just removed a couple apps I decided I didn't like and they removed fine and all but I noticed my memory space did not increase after the uninstall. Do these apps really go away or are they still on the phone somewhere hiding? My memory never came back.

Sep 13, 2010So, in the past, with 2.1 or 2.2 when I would rename the blurhome.apk to .bak the phone would then run extremely slow and shutter a lot, basically running like crap, with consistently low quadrant scores (800s). Since installing the 2.3.13 leak I tried renaming the blurhome.apk to .bak and have found that it no longer causes the phone to run lousy. Quadrant scores are the same and everything survives a reboot. I figured others might want to know this also.
