View 8 RepliesIs it possible while rooted to hide the titles of all your icons? I know you can do it with LP and ADW, but was wondering about Sense.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWish there was a way to remove an icon from the notification bar - pretty much everyone has a larger clock widget on the home screen - it's redundant. And don't need to be reminded we have an alarm set constantly.
There's not an app for that is there?
I accidentally put two icons on the home screen that I don't need there. How do I remove them? I still want to remove the applications, just the shortcut icons.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI used Titanium Backup to freeze, then uninstall some of the bloatware apps on my DX. However, the icons are still found in the app tray and clicking them generates a FC.Is there any way to get rid of the icons permanently? I know I can hide them with LPP but that only hides them; I want to eliminate them.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been having fun customizing the look of my phone and getting more and more out of it. Recently I've been making custom shortcuts as I like having different icons. What I don't like is that there's a label on the Icon. The icon pack I am currently using is Manups Simple Word. What happens is when I create a Shortcut to the market for example the Icon shows in text Market Stock and then beneath it the Label Market. I don't like that if read together it becomes Market Stock Market
Is there a way I can remove the labels from shortcuts? I am currently running Froyo with LauncherPro using folder organizer and I also have anycut. The solution must not involve rooting or using any paid apps as well I can't get paid apps here. I read here Is it possible to strip HTC Sense UI from the HTC Desire? that Helix has the option to remove labels from shortcuts. I'll rather not move to Helix and stay with launcherpro.
Finally rooted my 2.2 leaked X. After going through the phone and renaming apps I wanted removed, certain ones are still there. Block Buster, News/weather and Social networking. I've cleaned the cache with cache cleaner and even done a battery pull. No go. I've even tried renaming them back to stock(apk)then back to bak.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running Apex Launcher Pro and have started to notice a problem. When I uninstall apps that I have in folders in Apex Launcher Pro, the icons for those apps are not being removed when i uninstall the apps. I uninstalled roughly 30-40 apps not too long ago and they are all still present in my app folders on my desktop. Is there a way to have Apex remove these icons when uninstalling apps? Currently I have to go and test icons to see if the apps are installed or uninstalled in order to test them, which can be quite annoying if you have a large number of apps.
I am running the latest Apex on a Verizon GS3 running Synergy ROM.
If it's possible how about removing every stop application that you can not download from the marketplace? If the application isn't downloadable by preference leave it, if it can be downloaded at a later time remove them. I have some applications like car home, clock, gmail, and google talk that I never use.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with some applications that simply disappeared. Some them did it after I moved them to SD card. I think (I'm not absolutely sure about it) that some of those "disappeared" applications were not moved to SD card.
The problem is, that if I try to install the application again, system tells me that it is already installed. If I choose to install it again (upgrade the app), the installation fails.
The problem is that I can't remove these applications because I don't see them listed in installed apps. I will have to remove the applications manually, but I don't know how to do it. I have root access, so I should be able to do it.
I posted b this in the troubleshooting forum, but few people look there, I guess. I tried to update mixing and it failed a few times. I didn't think much about it until I decided to spring for the paid version. I bought it, but it wouldn't upload either. So I went to un install mixing in hopes that a fresh re-install would fix the problem, but there's no option to un install. I have my apps backed up, so I tried un installing mixzing that way, but it fails. The app itself works fine. Mixing may have been bundled with UD 9.8, my current ROM, but I'm not sure. I guess ultimately what I need help with is completely removing the app so I can start with a fresh install.(Switching, or even reinstalling the ROM is simply not an option. It takes me days to get my phone back the way I like it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe updated ROM firmware updated wonderfully and now the fun is really responsive and fast with very little noticeable lag. I have searched but can't see anyone else mention this, I can't believe this is just me though. When you want to remove an item from the screens now, it will start the app just by touching and not give time enough to highlight so that it can be dragged to 'remove' tab. One example is googlemaps from the homescreen. Have I overlooked a setting which will allow this or are the updates to speed such that it is a little too responsive now?

View 1 Replies View RelatedKinda sick of all the knock-off versions of the same damn games. Where are the licensed franchises and big name IP's? The iPhone has plenty. Hell, even Java-based phones had a better selection of quality games. The Android market has alot of either crap or games that are trying too hard to show off the capabilities of a select few devices (unfortunately the latter seem to be the ones that are considered the "best" games on the market).
View 9 Replies View RelatedAnyone see misaligned titles on their "All apps" screen? Seems every so often (I think following and install/uninstall maybe) all the titles under each app are slid to the right and i usually have to reboot to fix. I know this is a software issue and very well could be a specific app I installed issue; but would like to know if anyone has seen it and know what causes it?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI looked through the market and couldnt find anything. Dont know if it even exists but is there a file manager out there that give the option to display audio files my their title instead of by their filename?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was just curious which Gameloft titles people own or have tried, and what their take on them is. I'd also like to know what devices you are running them on (although I guess your pot would indicate that under your name...) and what problems, if any, that you have encountered (bugs, force closes, etc.). I have the bought Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. and Dungeon Hunter, and here are my thoughts on them. Plane graphics are awesome, and the game play is pretty cool. Basically just a scaled down version of the PC/Console game. 13 missions give you a fair amount of gameplay and you can fly over 20 different planes and upgrade their weapon loads which is pretty cool. Gameloft LIVE and the achievement system make the game fun to play time and time again. I also like using the Accelerometer with this game too, and it works like a charm. I have not run into any bugs or anything of the sort with this game.Graphically the best RPG on the market (at least until Pocket Legends comes out, but even with that the two different styles will make them unique). Quite a few quests to do, hundreds of armor upgrades and ways to customize your characters. Gameplay is pretty smooth as well. The storyline and conversations get kind of cheesy at times, but overall a decent game. I encountered one part of the game causing a force close every time. At the end you defeat the last boss and there is a portal you are supposed to take after. This portal alone causes force closures every single time. Anyone have any of the other titles? How is the online multiplayer for those that have it (such as Modern Combat and NOVA)?
View 7 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to see the titles of pictures and video in the gallery instead of just a thumbnail of it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was just trying something and realized this doesn't seem possible due to the debugging code in the android OS. I register a context menu on an AdapterView, via registerContextMenu(adaptive), and then implement the onCreateContextMenu, like this: CharSequence title = context.getString(R.string.txt, userName); title = Html.fromHtml((String) title); MenuItem item = menu.add(ContextMenu.NONE, ContextMenu.NONE, ContextMenu.NONE, title); The context menu displays correctly, however when it is clicked I get an illegalArgumentException from the EventLog class when it tries to print out the condensedTitle. So I have found without setting the condensedTitle explicitly to something that is a String this occurs. Why is this marked as a CharSequence if it cannot handle it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedUsing the gallery ap or video player to select a video to play shows an image from the video in filmstrip mode. Is there a way to see the file name or title of the video instead of a frame?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone know of an app that makes this possible or even just an icon pack but without the text underneath each icon?
View 8 Replies View RelatedHello everyone. Is there a feature or a check box that I am missing that allows you to turn off the little text labels beneath the application icons on the home screen? I'm kind of doubtful, but a search did not return an answer. It would certainly clean up the home screen. Plus a lot of labels are "cut off" due to length and that is just annoying.

View 2 Replies View Relatedreturned my first Cappy today, for a plethora of reasons (Battery, GPS incredibly unsnappy 1ghz processor that my previous iphone 4 crushed) among others. But this one seems to be a happy and healthy cappy so far. Anyway, running in to an issue. I have all of my music in itunes, but converted it and just housed it in windows media player when i took my iphone back and got the captivate. When I put my music on the captivate, I get all kinds of crazy file names, numbers, squiggles and the like. It's showing me the actual file and not what I've tagged it as, so I have very few artwork, cd names, and track names there. I've tried to sync music 2 ways:
1) Hook cappy up to pc under media player mode and sync through windows media player
2) sync with itunes agent
Both methods got the same results. I like my music libary to be smooth and organized, but i can't figure out how to change the files names to what I want! Should i get mp3 tagging software? if so, which kind? Can I just change the name in windows? It's kind of making miss my iphone!
When the app starts up it shows the activity label property in the title bar. If you set a different title for the activity in onCreate that will show up later. You see the launcher activity title for a while and then the programmatic title replaces it, which is not very nice visually. The icon on the home screen uses the label for the activity. What I'm trying to do is get a label for the icon on the home screen that is different from the activity title bar. I tried setting the intent- filter label, but that didn't appear under the home screen icon. There is a label property for the application, the activity, and the intent-filter. The activity label is shown for the icon and the title and the other label properties are not shown.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWas just in a thread and Fadelight's response was dead on. There are too many "Help!" "Please help" "What do I do" titled threads that give no clue about the thread content. If you want people to take notice let them know what the thread is about. Yea, eventually I will check out a thread titled "Oh No!" (morbid curiosity) but my first pick is one with a title that catches my interest. This has been a public service announcement. The thread titles have been changed to protect the innocent.
View 16 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if there is a way to rename the icons/shortcuts for apps? Do these icons reside in a folder within root somewhere? I wonder if renaming the icons/shortcuts would allow us to reorganize the way they are sorted in the app tray (since it is alphabetic).
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have the LG Intuition and I sync it with iTunes. I use iTunes because I used to have an iPod and a phone, now since I have both in one, i sold my iPod but kept iTunes. I have a lot of playlists and whatnot. Also most of the music files are something crazy like "it's-a-long-way-2-the-top.mp3" or "Nightclub-Mixers 2012 Monstercat April 101 (DJ Mix Madmax)". I cleaned up all the titles in my iTunes so the title is just the title and so on. But when I sync my phone with iTunes, it uses the file name and it looks like crap. Is there anyway (different music player) or something that uses the name i have in iTunes?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an application with two activities and I'd like to be able to have two icons appear in the launcher, each launching the respective activity within the app.Specifically, I want one icon to launch my main app, and another icon to launch my settings activity. Is this possible? This creates two launcher icons, but they both run my main app instead of the second icon running my settings app. I've tried just having the launcher category but then I don't get an icon so it looks like I need the main action as well.Is this the right approach or should I be declaring two applications in the manifest instead?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a single Android application that houses a suite of applications. I want each application to install with its own launcher icon, so I have a few activities with the same intent filter. It works just fine if I close out of an application using the back button. Each launcher icon starts a different activity. However, if I simply send the application into the background using the home button and then try to start a different activity, the one I put into the background is brought to the foreground instead of the correct activity starting. Can I make the multiple icons work or do I need to create a central activity as a way to start all the sub-applications?
