Motorola Droid X :: Removing BlurHome.Apk From 2.3.13?

Sep 13, 2010

So, in the past, with 2.1 or 2.2 when I would rename the blurhome.apk to .bak the phone would then run extremely slow and shutter a lot, basically running like crap, with consistently low quadrant scores (800s). Since installing the 2.3.13 leak I tried renaming the blurhome.apk to .bak and have found that it no longer causes the phone to run lousy. Quadrant scores are the same and everything survives a reboot. I figured others might want to know this also.

Motorola Droid :: How To Removing Application From Phone?

Apr 27, 2010

I posted b this in the troubleshooting forum, but few people look there, I guess. I tried to update mixing and it failed a few times. I didn't think much about it until I decided to spring for the paid version. I bought it, but it wouldn't upload either. So I went to un install mixing in hopes that a fresh re-install would fix the problem, but there's no option to un install. I have my apps backed up, so I tried un installing mixzing that way, but it fails. The app itself works fine. Mixing may have been bundled with UD 9.8, my current ROM, but I'm not sure. I guess ultimately what I need help with is completely removing the app so I can start with a fresh install.(Switching, or even reinstalling the ROM is simply not an option. It takes me days to get my phone back the way I like it.

I know I can hide them with LPP but that only hides them; I want to eliminate them.

Motorola Droid X :: Useless Bloatware With No Way Of Removing It?

Oct 5, 2010

I have been a big fan of android since I heard about it a few years ago and when my carrier finally got a android phone I jumped at it. The day the Motorola droid came out I bought it. The Motorola Droid is a great device and I am really happy with it. Fast forward last week I bought a Droid X for my girl friend and at first we both thought it was an amazing device. But after using it some more I noticed all the CRAP that comes with the phone.(she will never use skype and all the other junk) I am mad at google for letting companys like Motorola add all this useless crap on a phone with no way of removing it. Also the battery only lasts a few hours with only twitter and facebook installed on the device? Without rooting it does anyone else know a way to remove these apps?

Motorola Droid :: Unroot - Back To Stock (Removing SU)

Feb 7, 2010

Everyone is always so concerned about unrooting, removing su, removing busybox, etc., and so-forth. Well, finally an extremely simply solution. Almost too simple. Go to the Market and install SholesMod Updater. Sure it's $5, but it does it all for ya. Just install the application like any other, then open it. Select "Stock 2.0.1 (No root)" and let it do it's thing. And no one is the wiser. Hope this puts some minds at ease.

Is there a way to make the alarm clock icon go away in the notification bar? I'm big on minimalism, so I try and have as few icons up there as possible. Running 2.2 from OTA when I take the phone out of a dock (Multimedia or car), the home screen has to rebuild it self. Meaning all the icons are slow to come back. think of it as on a windows machine Explorer dies and you have to do a start/run/explorer to get it back. Only difference i that this is automatic, just slow to get responsive again. Even swipping through the screen is slow at first. Is froyo, google's VISTA?

Motorola Droid X : Removing Bloatware Noticeably Increase Performance / Battery Life?

Jul 23, 2010

I have asked this on the bloatware thread, and I've only seen one person mention that they have seen an improvement (BringTheRain403). I know a lot of you have removed most of the bloatware by now.

Do you see a noticeable increase in performance or battery life after removing the bloatware? By removing, I mean freezing the apk's in Titanium Backup. I don't really have a problem with this stuff being on the phone, but if it will noticeably help to remove it, then I definitely will.

There are some minor scratches in the window that the camera lens uses to take pictures on the battery cover. Even if I don't get all of them (some MIGHT be too deep, its hard to tell whether my fingernail catches or not in that little area), it would still be better if I could get some of them out. Any way I can do this without harming the lens even more? The scratches are on the outside of the cover, btw, not the tiny circle opening on the inside.

HTC EVO 4G :: Removing The Partitions

Nov 18, 2010

I partitioned my SD for app2sd and now that im having some problems (may or may not be related to the app2sd) i want to remove it. I booted in to recovery and did partition. set the ext and swap to 0 and the remaining for fat and it chewed for a min and then smiled and carried on. yet it was still there. i went in to ADB shell and ran parted /dev/block/mmcblk0 and printed a list (saw all 3) and did rm 1 rm 2 rm 3, printed again, all still there. i found the log that the recovery wipe made and it did the same thing i did and it showed an error saying it cant create overlapping partitions (because they were never deleted)

so, from recovery i mounted the SD to windows, went in to diskpart and removed them there, which seemed to work, but again, its still the same... disk manager as well.. no luck is there some sort of lock im missing? why on earth cant i delete and recreate my partitions? these are the steps i took to get the app2sd working
