I have just recently rooted and installed 2.1 sense custom firmware on my HTC Hero but i do not like it - drains battery, bit buggy etc. i was wondering how easy it is to go back to an official rom. anyone got any procedures?

View 15 Replies View RelatedI realize that this is a totally newbie question but here goes. I've rooted my Hero and now I want to try out a custom rom. My question is this, once I flash the custom rom and it boots up, does the phone work automatically just as when I updated from 1.5 to 2.1? I mean the phone functions, not the android operating system. As I said, this may be a silly question but I haven't seen it actually addressed in the forums.

The only option I receive via menu is 'Scan for Devices'

View 49 Replies View RelatedI REALLY need some assistance, think I screwed my phone, really want to avoid a hard wipe. I installed Lock bot the other day, has some issues with dual lock layers (i.e. the lock bot app wasn't disabling my HTC lock so I had two unlocks.). emailed dev and he sent me a beta version to hopefully correct issue. I only received an apk file from him. FYI I am on fresh 1.1, rooted. I used the kitchen to puch this file: "LockBotPro_1.10.0_beta.apk" to /system/app. The install went successfully, but later after a reboot I face a HUGE issue. The lock bot app is hanging upon reboot and will not unlock. At first I thought i would still be okay, I had ATK and Advanced Task manager both running at start up, so I can enter both of them through my notification drop down menu. I used both to kill the task-to no avail it is still locked. I tried to use advanced task manager to uninstall lock bot - to no avail, it cannot be removed. Then I tried to pull back the file through kitchen, to no avail.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThe updated ROM firmware updated wonderfully and now the fun is really responsive and fast with very little noticeable lag. I have searched but can't see anyone else mention this, I can't believe this is just me though. When you want to remove an item from the screens now, it will start the app just by touching and not give time enough to highlight so that it can be dragged to 'remove' tab. One example is googlemaps from the homescreen. Have I overlooked a setting which will allow this or are the updates to speed such that it is a little too responsive now?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've seen a few posts about this, but i wanted to ask again and see if anything new has come up.I'm happy with my USER dictionary, because i check it every couple days to make sure there's no crazy stuff in there that will pop up while typing.However, i would really like to be able to edit the dictionary that comes on the Hero. The biggest gripe i have is that EVERY time i type "the" it replaces it with "Tue"Wouldn't the dictionary be a file on the phone? Seems like you should be able to edit it after rooting, no?

Ive done some searching and came up empty. I want to remove vanilla lock screen and re installing the htcsense lock screen. I tried just flashing a custom htcsense lock screen but that didnt work. I cant even figure out where vanilla lock screen is installed.

However in my settings/applications/manage applications page, I still see a few apps that I cannot remove like SprintTV Widget and Flickr.I also loaded Root Explorer and wanted to try and remove some app/files that are cluttering my Hero. View 5 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone for the first time yesterday. I have not yet flashed any ROM's, all I have done so far is remove some of the stock apps. I have lost my data connection a couple times today, usually a reboot will solve it, however it hasn't on one or two occasions. It seems to have started happening after changing my boot animation to something closer to the 1.5 boot animation. Is it possible that this new boot animation is causing my data connection problems.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI posted b this in the troubleshooting forum, but few people look there, I guess. I tried to update mixing and it failed a few times. I didn't think much about it until I decided to spring for the paid version. I bought it, but it wouldn't upload either. So I went to un install mixing in hopes that a fresh re-install would fix the problem, but there's no option to un install. I have my apps backed up, so I tried un installing mixzing that way, but it fails. The app itself works fine. Mixing may have been bundled with UD 9.8, my current ROM, but I'm not sure. I guess ultimately what I need help with is completely removing the app so I can start with a fresh install.(Switching, or even reinstalling the ROM is simply not an option. It takes me days to get my phone back the way I like it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn my way to work I use the headphones attached to my Incredible to listen to iHeartRadio/Padora, etc. Once I get to work I make sure I kill the applications that I am not using, including the music applications. Once they are killed I remove the headphones from the phone. The problem is that once I remove the headphones, the music application automatically starts and plays over the speaker on the phone eventhough the applications were killed before I disconnect the headphones. The only way to stop the music from playing is to task kill it again after I disconnect the headphones.I am using the headphones supplied by the Blackberry Storm that have the microphone.

I have a new phone, that came with android 5.1 (Ice cream sandwich) and it came with a trial of plants vs zombies. I enjoyed the trial and tried to upgrade, and it just gave me a network error. So I went to the google play app store, and bought the full version there. But now I have two copies installed, one that is still the trial, and one that is the full version. How I can remove the trial version from my phone?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having problems that when I manually or automatically sync my Gmail/Google calendar from my phone or - items and/or reminders are disappearing.
For instance, I am viewing my Gmail calendar and US Holidays Calendar in the Calendars view - I turned off/unchecked "My Calendar" and "PC Sync" calendar. I can add a reminder or two to father's day - which is June 20th and when I go back or press home I see it has saved the reminder and added a picture of a bell to the entry in my Agenda view. The reminder is there when I double check it.
But when I manually sync the calendar up with Google/Gmail sync in Accounts & sync OR let the Calendar automatically sync the alert will be taken off father's day.
I have had this problem with Events too... I will add a new event, it shows up and saves but I noticed it has disappeared from the Calendar after the sync has taken place.
Anyone else experiencing this? I looked at my Gmail/Calendar settings on the phone and Gmail online and can't find anything.
I have the HTC Incredible with Android 2.1.
