Nov 19, 2009So despite my gut feeling I took off the film behind the screen as the other thread indicated.Now my phone slides smoother but when it is closed and using it in portrait view, the bottom and top left of the phone makes a tapping noise everytime I press there. It's really annoying specially when I'm typing something or going back and I keep hearing tap tap silent silent silent tap tap tap.As I took a closer look, it seems like the legs on the left side on the back of the screen don't quite reach the keyboard base, therefore creating a gap and tapping the keyboard base whenever i press there.Has this happened to yours too? If so, do you have the film in the back or have you taken it off?

Sep 30, 2010From the home screen, if I press 'phone' and then the keypad icon in the bottom left some of the numbers have a chevron on either side of them. I thought that possibly it indicated that the person had more than one number but that is not the case.

Apr 30, 2010I don't know how the hell this happened. There was absolutely no chance that this could have happened, but it did. The scratch is on the screen towards the bottom left and is deep enough that if you scratch your nail over it, you hear the concavity.
I don't believe this. I'm not able to call customer service at the moment, but I think I can get them to replace the phone. Honestly, I was so careful with it! I don't know what happened! I needed to vent. Scratches can still happen everyone.
General :: Red DEMO In Bottom Left Hand Corner?
Jun 26, 2013Purchased an inexpensive Android tablet (GDIPPO M7) recently. Worked pretty well, and am happy. Except today, when I turned it on and the word "DEMO" in bright red appeared in the corner. Have explored every conceivable setting to turn it off, and also did a factory reset, all to no avail.

Aug 8, 2010It was earlier this evening in fact. I went with my friends to check out the iphone 4 for the first time. So i decided to try and see the reception problem for myself. I took out my nexus one and did a side by side comparison. However to my surprise the iphone 4 was already at 2 bars the moment i picked it up, no idea why as my nexus one (Which was on the SAME carrier btw) had more bars on it at the same time. I carried on with the test anyway. You guys can guess the result.
The bars didn't drop completely as the coverage in Singapore is much better. But that doesn't mean it had better reception than my nexus one.
But the interesting thing was the lady beside me noticed us and asked "what are you trying to prove?". So while her daughter plays with the ipad, I kindly explained to her the whole issue with the iphone 4's revolutionary antenna having a ******ed flaw by which it loses signal when you cover the bottom left corner of the phone, unlike my phone which did not suffer as much as a drop. She then proceeded to saying "But they fixed the problem if you use the bumpers right?". Thats when i explained that you should not rely on a silly bumper case to improve reception when the actual problem lies with the antenna's design itself. But again she said "but the problem is fixed with the case right?". With one of the store sales person watching us the entire time, i still carried on and said "no it doesn't solve the problem, it only prevents it from happening". So we continued playing with the phone and she asked "you all are not fans of apple are you?". Trying not to be so direct, i just said "I actually used to have an iphone, but i didn't like it so i got this instead *shows nexus one*".
Ive never done this kind of thing before, so it was kinda thrilling. Especially when you know the staff is looking at you pseudo-promoting a rival phone. After looking at the iphone 4, i really think it does look beautiful, but it will still be crippled by the limitations of the OS regardless of how you jailbreak it. When i left the store i kinda hoped i shed some light into that lady's decision on whether or not to buy an iphone 4 or any other phone (Android or non-android).
Motorola Droid X :: Change Orientation Limits / Bottom Keys To Left
Jul 16, 2010First post here. First Android phone as well. Picked up the X yesterday and am enjoying it. One quick question though, can I not turn the phone to the right (bottom keys to the left) to change the orientation? Things only turn when I turn the phone left or straight up, not right or upside down.

Jul 9, 2009I've just moved to a new simcard and for some reason this afternoon a new icon has appeared in the notification area.
Its a picture of a simcard with a small cog wheel in the bottom left of it.
I cant get rid of it and cant find anywhere a list of notification icons and what they mean?
I cant clear it, i can select the icon in the dropdown notification listing but it does nothing.
Anyone got an idea or a list of default notification icons and their explanations????
This is a HTC Magic with 1.5 on it.

Basically, i want to place four buttons near the top/left/bottom/right edge of the screen. AbsoluteLayout helped, but it is deprecated (It is also better to avoid AbsoluteLayout as it is not very flexible for orientation changes)

Nov 1, 2009Ive had open home downloaded for over a month and i only used it for a short period of time before switching back to the default homepage setting. Now, because of the new features added to Open Home i want to switch back, and every time i open 'Open Home' it only opens until i hit the home key. Then it does not ask me what i want to use as my default as it used to. I went to settings>applications>manage applications>open home to clear all defaults but it is not highlighted for me to select it. How can i set Open Home to my default again?

Aug 6, 2010I sent a text to my sister that said ?and ever since, every time i return to 1 of the home screens from any application, mail, etc, comes up at the bottom of the screen in black, then eventually fades away. What I assume it has something to do with the text i sent, it can't be just a coincidence that it's 4 ? marks too. Never seen anything like it on this phone, had it for about 4 months.

Samsung Epic 4G : How To Change Bottom Four Home Buttons
Nov 20, 2010i saw a video back when i was debating between evo and epic, and it showed me how to change those bottom 4 buttons (PHONE CONTACTS MESSAGING APPLICATIONS). i figure phone and contacts kinda go hand in hand so its a waste, and i use HANDCENT. now that i have the phone i cant figure out how to do it to save my life. anyone have any ideas?
The same feature also allowed you to swap around the applications view, and delete unused home pages. i dont need 7 pages id be fine with 4 or 5 (multicon FTW)
HTC Droid Eris :: Home Screen / Cursor Moves Left While Charging
Jul 7, 2010I have been reading a lot on this issue since my 3 week old Eris has started moving the home screens and cursors to the far left but only when charging. Is there a fix to this I can do myself? I know if I go to Verizon (corp store) they will offer to replace it with a FRU model (refurb) and I will not have that since this phone is brand new. Since being a Verizon customer for 4 years I have had FRU replacements all resulting in a replacement phone that has even more issue's than the one it replaced which then resulted in a multi model FRU to a new phone (Samsung Gleam (2 replacements) to a new Env2 (3 Env's) then to an new LG voyager that lasted 2 years.What worries me is that Verizon has dropped the Eris and if I cant get a new Eris replacement I know they are going to throw the cinder block sized Moto Droid at me.

May 3, 2010I updated to 2.1 recently, and I am using Helix launcher with 5 screens. I let a friend use my phone the other night and when she gave it back, it was messed up. I mean, it seems to work the same, but there are 5 small screens at the bottom of my home screen that look as if they are previews/shortcuts to the other screens. I cannot seem to figure out how she got that on there, or how to get rid of it! It's really annoying. Anyone have a clue??

Aug 18, 2010This is hard to explain, but all the videos i show for the droid x shows that when you finger scroll through screen left to right and you get that little thing that pops up on the bottom where you can tap the dots to take you to certain home screens.in that same video i see that the phone arrow for apps and contacts icons move out of site while the dots pop up. until you let go then the navigation dots dissapear and the phone arrow for all apps and contacts icons slide back up.The same thing for deleting an app, when i see someone in the droid x video tap and hold and drag down to bottom to delete the phone, contacts and all apps moves out of the way.

Feb 25, 2010So oddly enough my wife's Eris does not let her long press ANY of the bottom two rows of app icons/widgets. I can long press any of the top two rows apps/widgets fine to remove or add in an empty space. but the bottom two rows I can't remove or add with a long press.anyone else have this issue? I'm trying to figure out whats new but she isn't that into her phone so she never installs stuff on it, im the one tweaking and playing with her phone and I haven't touched it in a week this started happening randomly 2 days ago.
