May 6, 2010Before I even ordered my Incredible I ordered a stand alone battery charger and two extra batteries direct from a China supplier on e bay for $14 total. These batteries are Atomic! I'm getting 50% more running time out of them than the factory battery no lie. The batteries are marked HTC Touch Pro 2 but fit the Incredible also.

May 9, 2010Can I swap out my current sd card for a bigger one without any ill effects on the apps I have installed or will they cease to function properly? Wondering if a wipe of the phone and re-install of my apps is the road to go. The only reason I'm asking is because I thought the apps were saved to the sd card as opposed to the internal storage.

What are the drawbacks to buying a really cheap one off of ebay? I've noticed you can get them for about $10 with shipping. Is it just that the transfer will be very slow?

Dec 8, 2009So I had several micro-USB sitting around from monoprice (I ordered the wrong cables a year ago, and they happened to be micro at $1 a pop I wasn't so concerned with sending them back) and after shaving the tops down a bit with a dremel (so I could still slide the kb open) I tried them out. I can charge with a wall-to-USB charging base or with the cable plugged into my PC, but I can't use them for any sort of data sync apparently. I'm really wondering if I'm just suffering from badly made cheap cables, or if there's something actually different between these and the cable that came with the phone. Anyone have any idea? Has anyone been using micro USB cables that they found for a good deal online?

Here's the requirements I'm looking for: - Support GSM - Single SIM slot or eSIM (3G preferred but not required) - Support GPS - Support BlueTooth - Optionally have an accelerometer - No display (this is an embedded device) - Would be willing to provide my own packaging (raw boards would be ok) I've debated taking the guts out of old G1s for this project. But if there is a specific device that meets my needs all the better. If there's any Manufacturers out there that have Android phone "guts" available, let me know too.

Dec 27, 2009I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice for my possible plan of grabbing a fairly cheap (under �120 so I think that's about $180) HTC handset, preferably with a good size screen as I like to spend far too long online on my current phone (!), and install Android on it!
So... how easy is this? Is there a recommended phone or small range of phones within my price bracket? And... are there disadvantages, and do I get automatic updates and stuff? I'm a fairly heavy medium-term Linux and Ubuntu user but this is my first adventure with Android!

Im not too fussed about the language the device uses though Im not really interested in the iTouch as theres no intention to release the app in the app store and I don`t really want to jail break everybodys iTouch. Ideally it would be small , iTouch size for example and relatively cheap $100 or less. Nothing fancy just ability to write a simple UI and have wifi. Voice is not needed.

Jul 26, 2010After reading a lot in the eris forum about the SD Card debate, I've decided to drop the cash on a 32GB card. However, since I haven't made the purchase yet, I was wondering what some of you thought of the brands. There is a class 2 sandisk out there a brand I know very well, but its only a class two. Then there are two brands I have never heard of: 3C and Topram. Has anybody had any experience with these brands? If so, what do you think of them? The cards are cheaper and faster (in theory) than the sandisk, but if it's a bad brand, then I don't think it'll be worth it.

Nov 18, 2009this may not be the right place for it, but i dont know where else to go. I have 2 micro sd cards. one a 4gig that i used in my g1 and a 8gig that i use in my hero. in my hero the 8gig says damaged sd card. it happened last night while trying to copy a bunch of stuff from laptop and it crashed during it. says i need to format it, but it just locks up phone and i have to pull battery out to restart. tried to do it from windows, but it wont even mount. so i was going to try to use my old 4gig from my g1 that i could never delete or add any files to. no luck there either. i can access it and copy files and they will be there, but then they just disapeer. i tried formating in windows and it formats and shows empty, but then everything comes back. is there a way to fix these cards like a formating program or something.
