View 2 RepliesI pre-ordered an Incredible and I plan to sell my Eris. I scanned through some posts and I see that there have been just a couple of short responses to this question in other forums, so I will ask the question here in the hope that it is useful to others. Question: for safety/privacy, is it adequate to wipe my Eris via the following method before selling it? Settings --> Security --> Factory Data Reset
Do I need to do more, or will this cover it?
I'm due for a upgrade and wanted to know where is the cheapest place to buy it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm playing around with some ideas and was wondering if anyone knew of an Android-based device that was basically a cell-phone with no screen.
Here's the requirements I'm looking for: - Support GSM - Single SIM slot or eSIM (3G preferred but not required) - Support GPS - Support BlueTooth - Optionally have an accelerometer - No display (this is an embedded device) - Would be willing to provide my own packaging (raw boards would be ok) I've debated taking the guts out of old G1s for this project. But if there is a specific device that meets my needs all the better. If there's any Manufacturers out there that have Android phone "guts" available, let me know too.
I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice for my possible plan of grabbing a fairly cheap (under 120 so I think that's about $180) HTC handset, preferably with a good size screen as I like to spend far too long online on my current phone (!), and install Android on it!
So... how easy is this? Is there a recommended phone or small range of phones within my price bracket? And... are there disadvantages, and do I get automatic updates and stuff? I'm a fairly heavy medium-term Linux and Ubuntu user but this is my first adventure with Android!
Has anyone made a cheap stylus for a touch screen phone using household items?

View 49 Replies View RelatedIs this correct?A user has reported this to me.I was wondering what the 1.5 public release date was since I haven't had a chance to update my software for 1.5 yet.I thought it would be end of May, but people already have it apparently.Furthermore, even if I download the 1.5 SDK,is there any way to test my code on my phone with 1.5 before the 1.5 upgrade is pushed to my phone.and when will that be anyway?I was surprised to have a user report that his new G1 was using 1.5.Does this not come as a surprise to others?

Allowable price ranges are $0.99 to $200 (YES $200 Sheesh) or 0.50 GBP to 100 GBP.Chargebacks for less than $10 USD will be automatically charged back.A $3 USD fee may be added to chargebacks on top of the refund. The 24 hour refund period starts when the user has *downloaded* the app, not when they purchase it. Google Checkout, as you may be acutely aware, only supports ~9 countries. Some apps use PayPal to receive payment, then send out an "activation code" to the user. How can this be done to ensure that a single user receives a single activation code? Once the app verifies the code, how could the app more or less "verify itself" that it's been paid for? Storing such data in a preference file or a database on the Android device can surely be easily extracted and exploited.
How are other developers handling app sales in other countries--or do they just not care?
I was wondering if it is possible for a manufacturer to sell a computer device with an Android OS with Pre-installed free android apps from the Android Market..?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using Google Code to host my application code, its convenient and the SVN repository means I don't have to worry about backups. When you create a project on there you need to select a license, I chose GNU GPL v3. By doing so, does that prevent me from selling my application on the Android market place?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI see a few members on here already have one, just interested to see where they got it from.
I found one site in the UK selling them but they are not in stock.
Anyone find cheap micro sd cards? For the DI, do we need class 6 cards?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI really want to buy one, anyone know?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I had several micro-USB sitting around from monoprice (I ordered the wrong cables a year ago, and they happened to be micro at $1 a pop I wasn't so concerned with sending them back) and after shaving the tops down a bit with a dremel (so I could still slide the kb open) I tried them out. I can charge with a wall-to-USB charging base or with the cable plugged into my PC, but I can't use them for any sort of data sync apparently. I'm really wondering if I'm just suffering from badly made cheap cables, or if there's something actually different between these and the cable that came with the phone. Anyone have any idea? Has anyone been using micro USB cables that they found for a good deal online?
View 19 Replies View RelatedIs anyone looking for screen protectors for there Eris, i know this is going to sound really weired but you can use packing tape, it works perfectly. it is a lot better than paying $12.99 for it. just thought i would try and help some of you out, and give you a cheaper alternative.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI just got my incredible, typing on it as we speak. It's pretty awesome, but the screen puts a red tint thats most visible on grays. The Verizon dude convinced me to get a cheap screen protector, could that be the cause?
View 15 Replies View RelatedBefore I even ordered my Incredible I ordered a stand alone battery charger and two extra batteries direct from a China supplier on e bay for $14 total. These batteries are Atomic! I'm getting 50% more running time out of them than the factory battery no lie. The batteries are marked HTC Touch Pro 2 but fit the Incredible also.

Is there an app available that allows me to make cheap international calls? So far the only only one ive seen gives you a local access number to dial. But the problem with this is that it uses the inclusive mins from your mobile. Are there any apps that gives cheap rates and uses 3g/WiFi to make the calls?
View 6 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know of a cheap Android or programmable device that has wifi? I need it for a project for a company that needs a wifi handheld device for the shop floor. Im not too fussed about the language the device uses though Im not really interested in the iTouch as theres no intention to release the app in the app store and I don`t really want to jail break everybodys iTouch. Ideally it would be small , iTouch size for example and relatively cheap $100 or less. Nothing fancy just ability to write a simple UI and have wifi. Voice is not needed.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy camera key is loose, English, and wiggle. Looks cheap to say the least. Especially when compared to the rest of the structurally sound phone. I don't remember my first droid being this way.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThis I what I use as a Car Charger works like a charm for me granted its a little slower then the wall charger. Its just a cigarette lighter plugin that has a USB port so you can use the data cable you get with the phone OR just buy another one on Ebay for like 5$ or less shipped..HDMI Cable, Home Theater Accessories, HDMI Products, Cables, Adapters, Video/Audio Switch, Networking, USB, Firewire, Printer Toner, and more!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm a long time user of LauncherPro on the Moment and though Sense is fine, I'd like to go back. The one thing I'm missing is some sort of widget or shortcut to toggle 4G on my Evo. I've searched the market and frankly, I'm not paying a buck for a simple widget. It might be worth a quarter to me, but not a dollar. Ideally, I'd love something like the notification setup from the Epics touch wiz which would be worth some $$$ to me. Anyone know a free or cheap alternative?
View 35 Replies View RelatedI have the 45$ voice and data with the 1000 sent message option.. the reason im asking is never got the call display because that is 8 a month.. but i hear there are add on plans for 15 and 25$ that give calldisplay and unlimited text.. now my question is there just a cheap voice plan and a cheap data plan i can get so i can get one of these add ons and keep it around the current 52 bucks?
