I never had one of these before. Today, I saw a little piece of it scratched up like it was pulled. It's a very tiny mark but it's on the screen. What do I do? Does it heal itself? Do I have to get a new one? Like what?

I checked out the steinheils website and some youtube vids and they look really nice. Is the only difference between the steinheil crystal and the anti-fingerprint the finish? I'm not too sure I'd like the matte finish as I would think it would slightly dull the brightness of the display. I've also seen the Phantom skinz and the orange peel effect seems to be a bit better than on the Zagg. Anyone with experience using both Zagg and Phantom SKinz products how do they compare? Does either of the two have a definitive advantage over the other in terms of appearance and feel of the coating while sliding your finger over it.

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy Incredible took its first fall yesterday. Considering I have nothing but a screen protector on the phone, I'd say it came out just fine. That said, there are a few rough feeling scratches on the body right above the screen near the power button (on the glossy black part facing the front). I was wondering if anyone has tried smoothing out some scratches successfully? Can't really see it, but I feel it every time I push the Power button or hold the phone in a certain way, and well, while I'll get over it, for now it annoys me.

I keep hearing from some reviews that the screen scratches really easy. I haven't found a definitive answer on this anywhere and planned on purchasing this as my 1st ever smart phone tomorrow.

Is it possible to scratch the screen? I have this line in the middle of the screen. Looks like a scratch but kinda doesn't. When I swipe my finger across it doesn't feel like a scratch. I noticed it not too long after I received the phone. The line looks to uniform it kinda looks like a stain.

View 20 Replies View RelatedThe iPhone uses some type of hardened glass that is very resistant to scratching. Other people (not me) have tried to scratch it with keys and it just won't do it.
Meanwhile I have an HTC G1 with glass that easily scratches and easily breaks. Its hard to break the glass on the iPhone.
What does HTC use for these Nexus One like phones? (Nexus One, Desire, Incredible, etc). Are they likewise using hardened glass?
If they use hardened glass, chances are you won't have any use for a screen protector.
I've been lurking while waiting for my Incredible to come in the mail- it's finally here,
I went to my local Verizon store in CT today to get a case for my phone. The sales assistant tried to push me into getting a screen protector too, but I'd rather buy them online so I declined. She kind of snootily replied that if I end up scratching the screen because I don't have a protector, it's considered physical damage and that voids the warranty on the phone. Does this make any sense to you guys?
I don't know how the hell this happened. There was absolutely no chance that this could have happened, but it did. The scratch is on the screen towards the bottom left and is deep enough that if you scratch your nail over it, you hear the concavity.
I don't believe this. I'm not able to call customer service at the moment, but I think I can get them to replace the phone. Honestly, I was so careful with it! I don't know what happened! I needed to vent. Scratches can still happen everyone.
So I have no clue how I got the scratch, but I have about a half inch scratch on my phone. It's very light and usually covered by a finger print. I am going back to screen protectors but I would say for a first scratch not a bad run. I have kept it naked since I bought it and have had kept in my keys with pockets. Honestly I wouldn't doubt thats how it happened !

I've used Steinheil before, so I know I like that kind.
Is the Ghost Armor closer to the rubbery feel of the Inivisishield or the hard plastic feel of the Steinheil?

I've heard that the T-Mo one doesn't cover the buttons at the bottom too, so I'd prefer not to get that one.
A few small bubbles, 'prolly my fault. No biggie, can't really see them when the screen is on.
Although the standard Verizon screen protectors don't cover the whole face,I seemed to be able able to squeegee them all out. Also, the feel of the screen wasn't as slick as with the VZ protectors, it was more sticky/resistant when sliding.
I'll hope protection will be what sells me on the Steinheil
Absolutely LOVELY. Went on beautifully with no bubbles or trapped dirt, though I must explain my application process. I did like most users suggested and ran a steaming hot shower and closed the doors, from here I used a sticky sheet that came with my iPod Touch screen protector that you lay on the device and then peel off to remove all dust, then cleaned all smudges with the microfiber cloth.
To put on, I simply peeled back the top end of the protector only, with the hard card thingy they give you for bubbles in my other hand, then slowly lined up the protector on the top edge and over the earpiece, from here I just squeegeed down the phone, peeling back more and more until it was on, then I got rid of all other little bubbles, and that was that! Perfectly applied!
Thoughts:
So I am very used to anti glare/fingerprint protectors, as I am totally unaccepting of the slightest smudges, so I am very accustomed to the clarity loss, but I do understand that this has been a problem with others who have purchased this protector. I can say that it is not really any worse than any other anti glare protectors, and there's hardly any rainbow effect on white screens, if any at all, which is a big improvement over the lexerd anti glare I had on before this one (we won't get into much of that, just don't ever buy it).
NO fingerprints show, it's amazing, I mean with my other one it would heavily reduce them, but they would still sort of show in direct light, here, NONE! And the matte feeling gives the best feeling and sound when swiping (or should I say Sywpe-ing) on the touch screen.
I HIGHLY recommend this protector if you want the anti-glare and no fingerprints and of course don't mind the recuction in screen clarity, and with the Droid and its beautiful screen, this can be a bit hard, but if you can sacrifice a bit, you will be extremely happy!

All was well.yesterday, I had a Voice mail notifier appear and it was the symbol that looks like a cassette tape sort of. This ca be accessed through the basic SMS messages icon.It wants me to dial my # and listen to a message. There is no message, and I do not know how to clear the notification.Also, I do not know where this VM came from and I want to get rid of it so it does not happen again. removing the Messaging tab and reinstalling it, nothing changed.

We were comparing the people in the bar to the people in the photos and we found some hilarious matches. Anyway, that was last Thursday. Now I see that the pictures that were pulled up on my phone are now easily viewable by merely trying to attach a picture to a text message or an email. Basically, if anyone looks at my phone and tries to see my pictures or something they will see these stupid pictures. The phone says these pictures are saved in the SD Card Cache. How can I clear this cache? I've unmounted the card, twice. No go. I've uninstalled the horrible program (it was free and you get what you pay for, I guess). I needs me some help! I've been perusing the interwebs looking for help and this forum seemed like the most active place right now.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEverything was fine (since 4/28) until yesterday....all of a sudden, there is a notification in the status bar for 2 new voice mails- I am, and have always used google voice for my voicemail - the notificaiton says to call my gv number, which is unusual, because it usually says that one of my contacts left a voicemail - anyhow, I have no new gv messages - went online and deleted all of them, also powered on and off the phone, even removed the check mark in settings to notify in the status bar......can't get rid of this this notification....there is no "clear" option, as you usually get when checking notifications from the menu button
Even calling my gv number manually, entering my pin, and hearing "you have no new messages" doesn't remove the notification from the status bar....this is very weird. Anyone else exp something like this from gv ?
I have a website that I have to log into and out of everyday. I usually do it from my phone to make it easier. I accidentally put in the wrong user name one day and now that user name is saved in there and I have to retype my actual user name to log in. Is there anyway I can clear the history somehwere so it wont save that one?

Should I take it back or is there a setting in the phone I am missing. I have made sure the effects are set to "None" and I have also restarted my phone. Nothing seems to work.
