So I have no clue how I got the scratch, but I have about a half inch scratch on my phone. It's very light and usually covered by a finger print. I am going back to screen protectors but I would say for a first scratch not a bad run. I have kept it naked since I bought it and have had kept in my keys with pockets. Honestly I wouldn't doubt thats how it happened !

Well it finally happened. I scratched the crap out of my screen. Have no idea how since I am very careful but oh well - nice 2 inch scratch right down the middle. I've been reading about various fixes. I'm intrigued by the idea of clear nail polish. This works well on glass, but I am afraid the nail polish remover used to wipe away any excess might melt this screen.

View 1 Replies View Relatedmy Clarivue Screen Protectors arrived today! I ordered both the anti glare and the clear ones. Reason being that with some companies the anti glare is very grainey. Anyway it was a good chice to order both because the anti glare is pretty grainey, and does distort the screen a little bit. I have it next to my iphone with the Anti glare from Apple, and the one from Apple is much clearer, while still keeping fingerprints off. However the shape fits well, they dont hug the sides, which is good because a tight case will not push the screen up and cause bubbles. They fit just right, and yes they have the U shape on the lower half which is fine. I will most likely replace the Anti Glare with the clear one only because the screen is so nice and vibrant that an Anti Glare will not do it justice at all. Well these Anti Glare ones anyway. Maybe the boxwave, Siedio, or Steinheil ones are a bit clearer and dont show so much grain, and are closer to the apple ones. We'll just have to wait and see what people say in the next couple of weeks. Hope this helps some people out!

But I was willing to live with that till better ones came out, but what really got me (unless I did something wrong) was the second tab you are supposed to pull off after installing the shield is stuck on like a sticker that has glue on the back side and left part of the sticker stuck on the screen.On my second attempt I used Goo Gone to get the sticker off first but the application for applying still came out messy.Anyway just a heads up stay away.On a side note one thing that doesnt suck was the red and black gradient case I got for the phone. It feels nice and I believe will absorb most falls to the ground while still protecting the phone. It also looks great and seems to sit flush to the ground so that the camera is not touching the surface directly.

View 20 Replies View RelatedThe iPhone uses some type of hardened glass that is very resistant to scratching. Other people (not me) have tried to scratch it with keys and it just won't do it.
Meanwhile I have an HTC G1 with glass that easily scratches and easily breaks. Its hard to break the glass on the iPhone.
What does HTC use for these Nexus One like phones? (Nexus One, Desire, Incredible, etc). Are they likewise using hardened glass?
If they use hardened glass, chances are you won't have any use for a screen protector.
I've been lurking while waiting for my Incredible to come in the mail- it's finally here,
I went to my local Verizon store in CT today to get a case for my phone. The sales assistant tried to push me into getting a screen protector too, but I'd rather buy them online so I declined. She kind of snootily replied that if I end up scratching the screen because I don't have a protector, it's considered physical damage and that voids the warranty on the phone. Does this make any sense to you guys?
I don't know how the hell this happened. There was absolutely no chance that this could have happened, but it did. The scratch is on the screen towards the bottom left and is deep enough that if you scratch your nail over it, you hear the concavity.
I don't believe this. I'm not able to call customer service at the moment, but I think I can get them to replace the phone. Honestly, I was so careful with it! I don't know what happened! I needed to vent. Scratches can still happen everyone.
Took my EVO out of my pocket when I landed this morning and noticed that I have a horizontal scratch running across the back camera lens. Not even sure where it came from or when it happened. Seems like it'd be way to easy to do though considering the phone rests on the camera lens when you place it on a flat surface. I know this happens to all new toys - but I didn't even make it a week.

I bought a new droid for $20 haha lucky i think until i notice that the touch screen only works for the middle of the screen to the left so if yu cut the screen into thirds only the middle and left work assuming that yu cut it from top to bottom with the lights at the bottom for the home button etc. I opened it up cleaned all the flex cable with alcohol and waited for it to dry and it still does the same thing so my question is = do i need a new digitizer or is it a software problem or something that i dont even know?
