I've had to pull the battery out three times now because the phone freezes up seemingly randomly when I use the browser. Haven't experienced this while using any other apps. Is anyone else experiencing this? Hoping this will stop happening or a new ROM will fix it.

Just loaded up CyanogenMod6 RC3 last night and since then my phone has frozen twice. I'm on the 2.xx radio not the 2.15. Should I up the radio? Or is the freezing a known issue with CM6?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently made the switch from a BlackBerry Curve to the HTC Incredible. One of the "features" of my Curve that I'm having trouble duplicating on the Incredible is this: I was able to set a timeout to lock the phone and a separate timeout to blacken the screen. That is, if the screen went black after 30 seconds of inactivity, the screen wouldn't necessarily lock until 30 minutes of inactivity. I have increased the screen timeout on my Incredible, but the screen doesn't dim at all. I tried installing the No Lock application, but now I can't find a way to manually lock the phone if necessary.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLately my phone has been freezing a LOT while texting. I'm using handcent. No fancy contact pictures, just simple iphone setup with black and white. I don't have a lot of apps on my phone, I have froyo, I don't have a lot of music on it, I mean.. I text a lot, but lately this slowdown has been pretty bad. Freezing every few minutes, locking up, having to lock the phone unlock it to work, sometimes having to reboot it.

It only does it on mine which has the ADW driver and an internet connection. the other computers I use it with don't have a net connection and it works fine when I use Easy tether to get the net. Any Idea why this would be happening on my system only? Also in case it's needed My PC uses windows 7 and the others have XP and 7 on them.

Now i've noticed its doing it with google talk as well as everything else on my phone. The only thing I was trying to do when this occured was play all music and not a playlist.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince we got the phones mine has been fine and my wife has had nothing but trouble. Her phone reboots all the time and freezes. We finally went to the Sprint store Friday and they determined hers was bad and sent her a new(refurb). We received it last night. We activate the new one and this one is worse. She has had it reboot 3 times today alone. It also keeps freezing on her.
Another strange issue the new phone is having is when she clicks on an email in the Gmail app the screen flashes like it is going to open the email and it just goes right back to the inbox.
Did she get 2 bad phones ? Now we have to go back to the Sprint store again. She also only receives one out of every three of my text messages.
I have baked snack and htc sense keeps freezing it says force close htc sense and i do that but then it starts loading and it says force close or wait. how do i fix it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since the 2.2 update, or downgrade as I now call it, my phone has been freezing nonstop. I have no clue what's going on. I have very few apps. The only reason I got this phone was because I'd thought it would be better than my old Samsung Instinct, which also constantly experienced freezes.
Here's an in depth look:
Press top button, slide down to unlock but no response.
Home screen, will not respond to touch.
Placing a call to someone, and before they answer, another call will come in completely freezing my phone, hard reset required.
The only reason I switched from the instinct is because I was sick of the freezes. And this phone hadn't done it before the update. Now, since my 30 day return is over, and the update came after the 30 grace period, I'm stuck with this POS phone.
Do you guys have any clue about this?
If not, looks like I'm switching from sprint after my 12 year run with them.
Today my phone has been randomly freezing up, once in dolphin browser, and once in a game called drop.each time the phone screen freezes, and i cant do anything and none of the buttons work. i turn off the display by hitting the top button, then it wont come back on ever, so had to take out battery and restart phone.any idea whats causing this? i've had the phone since june 4th, and today is the first time this happened and its happened twice.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI woke up today to see that my phone was locked up. I removed the battery and let it reboot, it goes back to the lock screen I have, shows the time/cell status. And then it immediately locks up. I'm able to get it into recovery mode and I wiped the cache, but no dice. I don't want to reset the data because I have some important sms messages that I'd like to back up, but I can't access the data folder in recovery mode it seems.
Is there a way to backup the data folder in recovery mode? Or another way to get the phone to not freeze on startup? I'm assuming something just got corrupt. I am able to connect to it via ADB in recovery mode just fine, but can't pull my data directory or use the su commands (permission denied). Phone is stock, except I did root it.
I've read somewhere on these forums over the past three days that a gesture can be used as a password for locking and unlocking the phone. Where do I find docs for this as I can't find it in the decide settings.

It seems the phone is rubbing against my leg and answering the call. Obviously locking the phone does not help, since you can answer a call without unlocking the phone. i can't for example put a music folder or video folder or excel file in it to prevent unauthorised viewing and stuff.
So I have had my phone for 5 days, do not know how I used a BB before. i installed launcher pro, rebooted phone and it appears to be frozen on the skateboard screen (never happened in the past) what can i do?
Seems to be getting more frequent. At first it was just freezing and would sometimes return to a usable state while I was listening to music. In the past couple of days it has begun freezing completely when using gtalk or other messaging applications when I would go to enter text. Voice to Text hangs and then force close, but everything else freezes up. I hold down the power button and feel the vibration when the screen to choose what option comes up, but nothing on the screen changes. A minute later, it reboots. I haven't had to do a battery pull yet.
Droid is rooted and I have removed maybe 3 apps... I can't pinpoint an installation of something that maybe caused this to start. Anyone with similar issues? Any fix? Should I just try and swap it out? I have the newest update...
I have a LG Optimus G2X (p999), running CM7.
The phone got waterlogged being in a backpack during a thunderstorm. The common "overnight-in-rice" remedy worked to dry the phone. On power up everything seemed fine except for one thing, the notification that says "Safe to remove SD Card". Upon further inspection it seems to be irrelevant to the real problem, as the sd card is still readable and writable by the phone.
The phone "freezes" after allowing the phone to sleep (locking not necessary for the problem to occur). After the screen goes off for more than a few seconds, then next wake action will turn on the screen but the system will not respond. Only hitting the power button seems turn off the screen. From that point onward, no key is responsive (screen will stay off). The cause seems to be caused by the following logcat message

This warning is spammed from the point of "freezing" untill I pull the battery. Also the following message seems to be an indicator as to why the phone won't wake again.

The problem is difficult to debug because I cannot debug it, literally. The problem only occurs while on battery power. Connecting the cable to a usb port stopping this problem from occuring.
Things I've tried
-Airplane mode (to eliminate any communcation device as being the problem)
-Loaded an entirely different rom (Paranoid Android CM9 Based)
We are new to this droid market along with touch screen. She has a problem with hanging up or muting a call due to the touch screen. Is there an app or adjustment to lock the screen while on the phone? Sorry if this is a duplicate thread, I attempted to search. Not new to forums but new to this one.

As in nexus android phone there is hard button on top for making screen turn off and lock the phone. i have to do same functionality but by using soft key i.e. in a programmatic way. What are the APIs or routines that can help me ? Can someone point me for getting this functionality?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy phone starting locking yesterday and on pressing the home putting brings up the message reactivating phone & brings up the Sony Ericsson start up screen. Then shoes "Emergency Nos Only". It won't receive texts but I am able to send them. Calls appear to be working ok other than I had a couple of missed calls yesterday which apparently rang once and then said phone is switched off. I have done a reset but it's still the same. I've also had a problem with apps appearing on the home screen without me putting them there - I had four digital clocks on it yesterday. Is this a software problem?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo my End Call button no longer locks the phone today. I always hit it because I am trying to squeeze all I can from the battery. I did install the Not Call Log app because I wanted the button to return to Home instead of the default, but I did uninstall it. If I long press the button, it still brings up the menu to Power Off, Airplane mode, etc. It just does not quick lock the phone, which I really like.
More info: The end call button does re-lock the phone (turn off the screen) when it is already locked, but still does nothing when I am sitting on the Home screen (when I really want to lock the thing).
Anybody having a freezing issue with the Google search widget freezing? When i try a search it lets my type in a few letters, then it just freezes.I'm using OTA 2.2
