I am new to the android phone. The button settings on my home screen on my Epic have 5 icons. No matter which icon is 2nd to the left, it never opens. It gives me "could not launch the requested activity". Currently it is the "envelope" icon.

I'm currently running into an issue that makes sense but I'm not too sure how to resolve it... Here is the scenario: App v1 icon LAUNCH is set to Activity Main from the manifest file. App v2 icon LAUNCH is set to Activity All from the manifest file and Activity Main no longer exists. After updating to App v2 the app icon fails to launch the application saying it doesn't exist! After a restart of the phone things work. So how can I refresh the applications package or better the launch icon and shortcut icons so that my users don't experience this after an upgrade of my newest app version?

Now I press HOME button, and from homescreen click again on my app icon, which launches A and adds it on top of the activity stack, which now looks like this: A-B-A. But I just want to bring my application to foreground, is that possible in Android?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe left lower side of my battery cover doesn't fully snap into place, causing an annoying gap. It was never like this, but I took the cover off to remove the battery, and when I tried to put it back in, it wouldn't snap. I tried a different cover and it still didn't fit... I have no idea why it wont snap in all of a sudden. Anyone else have this? I'm on my fourth epic, If I have to go to #5 I might just say forget it and save my upgrade
View 3 Replies View RelatedI tried to search but I'm new to Sprint and just got the epic 4g coming from N1 and AT&T. Had a question regarding the 3g icon. Most of time instead of seeing the up and down arrows under the 3g icon, I see a "D" and if I have 4g on I see the 4g logo with the letters "zzz".. what is the "D" and if this means it is idle 3g how can I stop this? Does this mean that my gmail etc does not sync unless I use an application that needs to use data?

View 10 Replies View RelatedOn my droid phone, I get what I consider a proper pause/stop/resume/restart sequence when the home button is pressed and I then select my application. However, I'm testing on a new Samsung Galaxy tablet and when I select my application after having pressed the home button, a new activity is being launched. I do not understand why the behavior is different on the Galaxy. Any ideas? I have removed orientation config changes in the manifest, so it's not that.

Its relentless and can only be cleared by dropping down the notification window and clicking on 'clear'. It looks like a small envelope but not very good graphically. View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it in any way possible to launch an activity from the main function without having a UI? i.e. is there a way to create a sort of "wrapper" around another activity, i.e. by launching the main activity, it takes you to another activity automatically. If that is not possible, is there a way to remove the main activity from the stack so that clicking the back button does not take you to a blank UI?
