When listening to Podcasts on Google Listen and I receive an e-mail or a txt it turns down the media volume to 0�. I really like how simple Google Listen is for Podcasts but this is irritating.

Will hopefully be coming to the Android Hero when it comes out, but one thing is a deal breaker for me. I am on call 24/7 and have a application on my Blackberry (Message Alerts)that turns off all e-mail notifications at night except if received from two different accounts.

But I noticed recently that suddenly the volume rocker only controls the Media Volume or the In-call volume (if you're in a call), not the Ringer Volume. I don't have anything playing, so not sure why it's like that. I want it to default to ringer and I'll worry about Media when I'm actually in a program that uses it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI noticed that you can't adjust media volume without first playing media. Like you have to, for example, press the play button before pressing rocker volume in order to adjust media volume or else you'll just be adjusting ringer volume. This is unfortunate since games also use media volume. So if you wonna start up a quick game in a quiet setting, your in trouble if you were listening music before and never turned down/off the media volume. Unless I'm missing something and there is in fact a way to do it?

No sound is playing, but it is rolling through my MP3s.Any way to stop this?I've even killed it in Task Killer, but it will start back up even without a power down or battery pull.Not sure if is using battery life, but it is a bit annoying.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI live in Canada and after months of eagerly waiting, I finally got my paws on the HTC Desire from Telus (network provider). After having it for a little over 2 weeks now I've got nothing, but good things to say about the overall performance of the device except for the Call Volume!!! When I make a call or receive a call the Volume is so quiet I can almost never hear the person on the other end.
Have any of you had this issue or found a way to correct it? I've seen it commonly talked about on some other threads, but so far nothing on this site. Please tell me I'm not alone in this.
Edit: I should add that yes I have the call volume maxed and I have no issues with the Speakers when playing Music or Videos. Just Call Volume during Calls.

Sometimes it will check if the phone is awake, but otherwise it could sit in my pocket sleeping for three hours and never once send/receive.

I have tried removing my account/adding it again, it still only fetches the mails that where fetched before the 15th oktober.
I have the same mailsetup on my own computer, fetches new mails just fine, no problems.

Iphones and blackberrys all give you a notification when you receive a new email or a new facebook message. The galaxy s does nothing when you receive a new mail. In settings you can select a ringtone, set it to vibrate when you receive a message. But nothing happens. The only way to find out if there any new messages is by clicking on the email app ( in which i am using hotmail).

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I receive a voice mail, it shows up in the visual voice mail application like it always does. Everything is normal EXCEPT ... When I play the voice mail I hear nothing. The time bar moves as it is playing, but nothing can be heard. This has been happening for the past 3 days. I then have to access my VMs through the traditional "Dial #1" portal. I love visual VM though, and would like to fix this. Does anyone know what the problem might be and/or have had this problem before?
Note: I am not using a task killer, and I don't even have one downloaded on my UNROOTED Hero.

After reading several posts for other android phones it seems the suggested route is to restore the phone to its original settings. I would rather not lose everything I've installed on my phone.

When I've got the earbuds in and media volume set to minimum it's really still a bit on the loud side when I'm at home, rather than in the noisy outdoors. Has anyone seen something that can do this? I expect it's easy as pie with a rooted device, but I haven't bothered with that just yet.

As much as I knew, There are 4 volume types in Android Phone. They are "Ringer Volume", "Media Volume", "Alarm Volume", and "Volume". But the volumes which are adjustable in Settings are only "Ringer Volume" and Alarm Volume" in Settings - Audio Profiles. I can't find where to adjust "Media Volume" and "Volume".

The problem I have is that the minimum volume for media is still too loud for me while listening to music at work. Is there any way I could say, lower the overall volume of the phone? Secondly, what kind of app can people suggest as an equalizer for adjusting bass/treble etc?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have HTC Desire with Android 2.1 and Windows 7 Premium 32bit. I have created some 3GP videos on the HTC and can play these successfully. When I transfer the file to Windows 7 the playback via Windows Media play doesn't have any sound. Same files playback with volume via iTunes. I'd really like to use these files with Windows Media Player. Is this some sort of codec issue? Why are such task seemingly simple tasks made so difficult?
