Sprint HTC Hero :: Have 2 Mail Notifications For Every Email I Get?
Mar 15, 2010I recently picked up the HTC hero and love it so far. My only complaints are battery life and the fact I did something wrong when setting up my yahoo mail. As far as the battery goes there is nothing wrong, I was just used to a regular flip phone. I just charge this every night now.I have been lurking here for a long time and finally picked up my first smartphone and LOVE IT. This site has helped me in so many ways already.When I set up my yahoo mail using the (other(POP3/IMAP)) setting and I got a call in the middle of it and started over. I actually ended up entering my yahoo mail twice on accident. They both work perfectly fine. So I get a notification twice for every one email I get. Completely my fault and not the phones in any way, but either way I cant figure out how to delete one of them. One is named Yahoo and the other jjj_85, my account name. I have dug through every option I can think of and searched on here and came up with nothing. All the options are just to modify the accounts I set up already. Any ideas on how to delete one of them? Hopefully I just overlooked something simple.

Oct 23, 2010I was wandering if anybody could help me with the email notification problem im currently having. Iphones and blackberrys all give you a notification when you receive a new email or a new facebook message. The galaxy s does nothing when you receive a new mail. In settings you can select a ringtone, set it to vibrate when you receive a message. But nothing happens. The only way to find out if there any new messages is by clicking on the email app ( in which i am using hotmail).

Nov 6, 2010Anyone noticing their Yahoo notification not showing up in the bar when they receive email? I get the sound, but there is no icon displayed in the bar. When I pull the bar down, I see the message title, but the icon does not appear.
Also, I've noticed on the Messaging app, that the Yahoo icon is missing the purple Y. The icon is just a generic looking envelope. Something has changed with the account. Battery pulls or logging in or out of the account have not helped either.
HTC Droid Eris :: Two E-mail Notifications Per Received Email
Dec 12, 2009Did a search, didn't find what I'm looking for. I have only one email account, a gmail account, set up on my Eris. I would have my Yahoo set up as well, but for some reason it says my account info is wrong. Anyway, I get 1 notification for each of the email systems in the phone. 1 seems to be through HTC or a widget or something, 1 is the gmail app or whatever it's called. I've only had this phone for 3 days, and I love it. If it's any help, I'd like to only use the htc one as the keyboard seems more responsive as far as the auto-correction goes, and the layout is more simple and easier for me to read.

Jan 14, 2010Question about Stock Mail (not gmail) app. First - I am rooted running Fresh 1.1 Rom. I have noticed that my mail client does not send/receive mail on it's set schedule. Sometimes it will check if the phone is awake, but otherwise it could sit in my pocket sleeping for three hours and never once send/receive.

Mar 11, 2010When I receive a voice mail, it shows up in the visual voice mail application like it always does. Everything is normal EXCEPT ... When I play the voice mail I hear nothing. The time bar moves as it is playing, but nothing can be heard. This has been happening for the past 3 days. I then have to access my VMs through the traditional "Dial #1" portal. I love visual VM though, and would like to fix this. Does anyone know what the problem might be and/or have had this problem before?
Note: I am not using a task killer, and I don't even have one downloaded on my UNROOTED Hero.

Jul 12, 2012I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy SII. I updated to the stock ICS last week, and ever since the update, my text notifications and email notifications will periodically mute themselves. Screen still lights up, notification is still in the notification bar, but no sound.
I've changed the settings to ensure I have them correct several times. I did a master reset as well. Doing a hard reset will fix the issue temporarily, but it always goes back to not working.

May 4, 2010After I read an email, my phone keeps if for a day or so, then deletes it. I don't want it to delete any emails without my approval. Why is it doing this and is there something in settings that will prevent it from deleting emails from my phone? I've spent what seems like hours going through the email settings menus and cant' find anything. Is there something in the general settings menu? Please help. I'm running the stock HTC mail program.

Jul 18, 2010I have a pop e-mail account set up on my incredible to check every 10 minutes for new e-mail, but it never does. the only time it checks for new mail is when I manually launch the mail app. My Gmail account works fine. I will send myself a e-mail from my gmail account to my pop e-mail account (another email address) and that email will not hit my incredible until I manually launch the mail app.

1 Exchange Account - Push
1 IMAP (Gmail) - 2 hourly
1 POP (Hotmail) - Once daily
My issue is that I am receiving alerts for the same new mail repeatedly. Here's the gist:
11:50 - New mail hits my inbox.
12:00 - I receive a notification of the new email.
12:05 - I check my inbox, but choose not to open the email at this time.
14:00 - I get a notification of a 'new' email, yet on checking it's the one received at 11:50, but still haven't opened.
15:00 - Rinse and repeat. Now, I'm not sure how many times this is happening, or even if it's everytime, but there's something definitely glitchy with mail notifications.Has anybody else noticed similar behaviour? If not I may try removing/adding my accounts back in again.

Feb 15, 2010I would like a different notification sound for my email than I have for voice mail. I keep reading that each app has a setting that allows one to select a unique sound, but I am not able to find this setting for the stock email app, or the voicemail app. The only options under email settings are:
Email notifications - ON or OFF
Notification sound - ON or OFF
Notification vibrate - ON or OFF
Under Voicemail settings, I see NO choices for notifications.

Nov 25, 2009should the voice mail icon have a number on it like the email or text icons if you get a new voicemail? If I get a notification, it only shows up on the task bar. I was also experiencing not recieving texts. I have since done a reset which fixed the text issue (and sleep-for now), but not the voicemail. Should I take the phone back? I fear its anotjer software bug, not hardware. I love this phone, but I'm getting very annoyed that it can't even do what its suppose to.

It then started with the process and the screen said it was downloading.........2 days later, every time I go into voicemail ..it says it's downloading.
