HTC Desire :: Facebook Contact Sync - Not Sense One - Issue
Sep 16, 2010ALright, so I just went from the original samsung galaxy to the htc desire and one of the first things I tried was to sync contacts with facebook. I only want existing contacts to be synced so I chose not to use the facebook for htc sense app as it will sync all facebook users and add them to my contact list (correct me if I'm wrong). So I tried to sync with facebook for android but nothing happens when I chose the account. I get prompted to sign into the app, which I do, I get into the app like normal, but no contacts are synced. Returning to the accounts settings page I cant even select the facebook. It is there to add but when I hit it nothing happens. I did sync with the official twitter app with no problem which I noticed with the samsung galaxy (running froyo) should be the same procedure. Kinda strange issue if you ask me... anyone else encountering this problem?

May 12, 2010Well, I seem to either A) have a problem or B) it's a problem just in general.I have Facebook installed, and there's obviously Facebook for HTC Sense. I want to sync my Facebook account and only that. I don't personally care to use the Sense inspired widgets because I like my streams separate.Anyway, I go into the Accounts menu in settings and removed the Facebook for Sense account and tried to add a new account, but whenever I click Facebook, it does absolutely nothing.I don't understand what's going on. If anyone has any clue, I'd love to hear it!

Apr 21, 2010Back when my friend first got her Droid, she showed me that she synched her Facebook account to her phone and all of her contacts were from Facebook. Does this still work the same way for HTC's Sense UI?I know that you can synch your Facebook account to the Incredible but does it actually make all of your contacts your Facebook friends? This is a feature I would like alot because all of my friends that I am close with are my FB friends and I really like having all of my contacts have pictures and their full names.

1)Go to your facebook profile on your computer browser
2)Got to Info, then Edit profile
3)Go to Education And Work
4)Under employer: I changed both position and city/town to include whatever city you are currently in. If you have multiple employers (past and present), change those too
5)Go to your Incredible, settings, accounts & sync, Facebook for HTC sense, sign in & it should work..
HTC Incredible :: Can't Load Sync On Laptop
Jun 13, 2010I have a Thinkpad Laptop running XP Pro. I haven't been able to load the HTC Sync application.
I have downloaded the current version HTC_Sync_2.0.33.
Here is what happens:
Language message opens, selected english
Preparing to install window box opens. Starts decompressing HTC PC Suite.msi.
Then the installation stops and I get a Windows installer message window. It lists all of the install and display options. Clicking OK at the bottom stops the install.
I have all of the windows updates. Any ideas what setting on my laptop is crashing the install? I have loaded it successfully on other computers.

Aug 10, 2010I manually linked a few contacts in HTC Sense to their corresponding Facebook profile. Afterwards I see strange behavior including one or more of the following:The contact becomes unavailable to Google Gesture Search One or more single digit telephone numbers are added to the contact adding clutter. I learned I can delete these if I click Menu > Edit > choose Google > remove when clicking on the contact in the People app, I receive an error that the contact is not available I am running the stock Android 2.1 that shipped with my Incredible. This seems like a pretty substantial bug. Has anyone experienced and/or solved it?

Nov 8, 2010I have been trying out some different ROMs trying to pick out a daily and I have ran into a very annoying problem. When I download a sense ROM I cannot send MMS through Handcent or ChompSMS. However, the stock messaging app works like a charm when sending them. The only problem is that I hate the stock messaging app. I always wipe and don't flash any other zips before I try sending the MMS and it still doesn't work. The weird thing is that I can use Handcent and ChompSMS on the CM6 ROM. I've tried the APN method and factory data resets. Nothing.
Here's the sense ROMs I have tried with no luck:
-Myn's RLS2 and 3
-Nil's business sense
-Virtuous v3.1.0
-SkyRaider 3.3
Today I actually unrooted my phone and got everything stock again, and Handcent and Chomp still didn't work. This is very annoying because I have flashed probably 30 times in the past 3 days trying to find a Sense ROM I can get to work.

May 18, 2010Like everyone who's updated to 2.1, I'm experiencin the same bugs with Facebook (i.e. all my FB contacts show up in my dialer and my txt msgs). Anyways, I was toolin around in Accounts & Sync under Settings. Right now, the accounts I have set up are Google, Weather, and Facebook for HTC Sense. When I click Add an Account, there's something called just "Facebook," in addition to the "Facebook for HTC Sense."I've always known there were two Facebook apps (or whatever you wanna call them) on my phone, cause when I want to share a pic I take, I can do it using either "Facebook" or "Facebook for HTC Sense." I always share the picture using "Facebook" because it allows me to post a comment as well.Anyways, getting back to Accounts & Sync, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on how these two apps differ. Maybe if I choose to sync the "Facebook" account as opposed to "Facebook for HTC Sense," that could solve some of these issues we're all having? I have no idea, but I'm hesitant to do anything for fear of clogging up my phone's contact list with Facebook friends.

Aug 4, 2010I logged out of Facebook through the Android App then logged in and all is well. I dont know why it had to come to that, it should do it automatically.I have even done battery pulls which should theoretically log me out, oh well, it works now.I have done some searching around and there was a problem with Facebook a couple weeks back, but I dont think this has anything to do with that. I added a new friend on Facebook on the 25th of July, I also added them manually into my People on my Inc. For whatever reason when I go to the Link part of the contact and go to the Facebook Link, it says to pick from my friends. He does not show up in my friends if I am browsing through the link area. I can go to facebook from the phone and from the computer and he is there. It is making me insane.Also the profile pics are not updating, and havent for many months. My wife's picture has not changed on my phone's end in 4 months, but on the actual Facebook site it has.

On my old blackberry this was automatic but for some reason it won't work on this phone. Also do you guys leave your fb signed in all the time? Jun 4, 2010I know the FB app doesn't work but my fb email is set up to my yahoo email. The emails notify me of any updates, status comments, etc. When i receive the email it says i can "reply to the email" to post a comment. I used that 95% of the time with my blackberry with no problem at all. Now, on the DINC, i reply but it never posts.
Anyone else having this issue? if so, is there a way to fix it?

Jun 22, 2010My HTC Desire's Facebook directory lists 205 friends for my Facebook, while in reality I have 207 (and Facebook for Android app of course shows them all, too)I'm not quite sure why or how 2 of them have gone missing, but I think one went when I messed a bit up, merged 2 contacts on my phone and started removing information from that contact, so it in the end had only 1 number and 1 facebook friend linked to it. Ever since I haven't been able to see the friend whose contact/link I removed in Facebook directory.I've tried uninstalling Facebook for Android to access Facebook for HTC Sense, but apparently it can't be completely uninstalled - only the update(s) for it, and the cache/data can be uninstalled for what I can tell.
So I've uninstalled it's updates, I've cleared it data/cache - and I've cleared all the cache/data from Facebook for HTC Sense too.I've removed my phone-linked Facebook account, too, with no luck.No matter how many times I try re-syncing or refreshing, the 2 contacts are still missing.One new contact that I added as my friend today appeared normally, though.Any ideas how to fix this? It's annoying when I can't link 1 contact to her Facebook, when I have pretty much everyone else linked to theirs.
