I know the FB app doesn't work but my fb email is set up to my yahoo email. The emails notify me of any updates, status comments, etc. When i receive the email it says i can "reply to the email" to post a comment. I used that 95% of the time with my blackberry with no problem at all. Now, on the DINC, i reply but it never posts.
Anyone else having this issue? if so, is there a way to fix it?

a) Speaker doesn't work in call (very weak). works well in ringtones etc.
b) Scrolling contacts by letter doesn't work.
Other than that this is a leap forward, especially with the overclock options!
Both bugs, as well as others, fixed in 1.6.3.1 update!
I have a bit of a dilliema when it comes to texting on this phone. I am coming from a BB curve. I run a small business and I schedule my employees through text message. I do so 10+ employees at a time. The problem I have found with Handcent and Chomp, is that if I message 10 people "Work Thursday at 315" when they reply to confirm, it doesnt show my original message, so I have no idea what they are confirming because Im often sending out many different times to many different people. Now, the stock messaging app DOES show my original message when they reply, but the sort order is all screwed up.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is the 2nd time now that this has happened, and both times it has been when my phone was plugged into an outlet and charging. I was on a bus ride and had my phone charging while I was using it pretty heavily - Google Talk, web viewing, etc. Basically, some aspects of the screen would stop working. For instance, the "space bar" wouldn't register when I touched it, and certain other letters. Overall, the touch screen was pretty unresponsive. The problem only went away later after I had unplugged it for some time. During this problem, I reset the phone, reset the calibration - nothing worked.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAnyone having issues with the reply of a message in facebook? When I go to the facebook website I get forced into the m.facebook.com site (and iphone.facebook.com). When I try to reply to a message (inbox) it doesn't do anything. It only works if I go to the full site, but that is annoying and doesn't work too well on the htc magic.
I wonder if it is because of the rom update and/or being auto-directed to the iphone.facebook.com?

View 6 Replies View RelatedLast night I was hammering out some emails while watching TV. The only light in the room was from the Inc and the TV. I could not get the track pad to register my motions. I attempted to angle the phone to face the TV but still got no response.
I'm thinking this is a design failure. An optical device shouldn't be on a phone if it can't be used in the dark. Seems to me that the light sensor would affect the track pad's sensitivity based on the ambient light.
Is there any work around to getting the track pad to work in the dark?
Every now and then when I get a text and try to reply, none of the letter buttons will work. From what I've tried, the only way to fix it is to exit all the way out of the messaging application and go back in. The buttons will animate like they are being pushed, vibrate, and even show swype trails and word suggestions, but none of my words will show up on the screen.
I haven't figured out the specific instances when this happens. It seems a little random but I think it may only happen when I lock the screen without leaving the messaging application first, I get a text, and try to reply immediately from the app. But I'm really not sure - it might just be random.
I got an Android device specifically for Google integration, since my employer uses Google for 50% of our work (email, calendar, chat). Yet bizarrely, Android's Gmail app seems to be the weakest point of their platform.
IMHO (and please not let this become some kind of fanboy bashfest of someone trying to put in constructive criticism here):
The "Reply," "Reply All," and "Forward" buttons are very inconvenient -- at the bottom of the message, rather than a toolbar of some kind. This means that when I want to respond to one of those interminable email chains, I have to scroll past wads of old crap to reply. I've had intermittent success with forwarding attachments. It seems unpredictable when an attachment will forward and when it won't. Can someone shed some light into when it works? I suspect it has something to do with Outlook or other clients that attach files in non-standard ways. Very limited offline functionality. I would really prefer if there were an IMAP mode so I can review email while offline (e.g. on the plane or underground). Specific to the Droid: The D-Pad has so much potential, but instead all it does is jump from link to link in an email, which I do not find intuitive at all. At a minimum I'd think that the D-Pad would let you scroll; ideally, I'd like to see the D-Pad help solve the first problem described above (lack of access to the reply and forward buttons) so enough whining from me. I'd appreciate any solutions to the above (and "Shut up and deal with it" is not appreciated). It could be keystroke shortcuts I'm not aware of, apps that work better than the default Gmail program, pending app updates that take advantage of the Droid's unique hardware, etc.
Is there no Facebook Sync in Jagar? Do I have to load sense to get that to work?

Of the apps I've downloaded, only a few of them have worked. Of those few that work, some don't work right. Has anyone had problems with these apps crashing on them, or just not working correctly?
- Nice Battery (see description at bottom of: My Ultimate CLIQ settings (so far))
- WeatherBug (kept showing the wrong location, crashed when trying to change location)
- Snake - doesn't work just says its "paused"
- RingDroid - crashes when I select the "Facebook Pop" button
- Layar - screen is rotated 90 degrees at all times
There have been others, but usually I just uninstall them right after discovering it doesn't work right.
I've had an HTC Desire on Orange in the UK for about 6 weeks and it is having persistent problem. Firstly despite having a strong 4-bar out of 4 signal, online services and the internet do not work at all when a 3G signal is being received (e.g. news, weather, all widgets, internet, email etc).Calls and texts do work however with a 3G signal.But when a 3g+ signal (HSDPA) is being received, all internet services as above work fine.However, when a 3+ signal is being received, the phone does not make or receive calls or text messages, and often fails to send texts. Calls I make immediately shut down (bleep + �call ended�), and incoming calls from other people go straight to answerphone. Also often when turning the data connection on/off, it freezes and has to be rebooted, and turning airplane setting on and off does not fix the problem.
I have also tried the different network settings (GSM, WCDMA, auto, etc). �GSM� sends and receives calls and texts but doesn�t work (or is incredibly slow) with internet, and �auto� and �WCDMA only� show the problems as above.I don't think this is a network/coverage issues as, as I have seen many people reporting these same issues on other networks and in other parts of the UK, and I have read that other people are having to manually turn off HSDPA to be able to make calls (using an app?). Even if I can stop HSDPA from connecting to make sure the phone works, I still can�t use the internet at all on 3g � even GSM works better!
Finally, when I connect to a bluetooth device (e.g. car and headphones) the phone will connect briefly, and then randomly disconnect. I have also seen this issue reported elsewhere.I very much like the phone and don't want to get rid of it, but these problems are making the phone unuseable.Also I don't know if I should be contacting HTC or Orange about this. Will the upcoming Android 2.2 fix these problems?Anyone know how to fix this or if I need a new handset? Are there any apps that can help? Also does the Nexus One have these problems and are they fixed by Froyo?
So I made a discovery - my dialpad doesn't work during a call. Even if I bring it up via the softkeys, the numbers don't register a tap...anyone. else have this issue or is it just my phone?
View 49 Replies View RelatedUnless it is just my settings, when I text I can send a text and receive a quick reply and can reply back and forth. However, if I back out of messaging (go to main screen to any other app) the reply that I receive has lost the area code prefix and my replies will not be delivered. All my contacts have been entered with the 10 digit number but like I said, if I leave the messaging session after my first send, the contact number is truncated to 7 digits.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSwype worked fine for me before I received the 2.2 update on my Droid Inc last week, but now it doesn't. I've tried the following, as recommended in many other posts:
1) uninstall and reinstall swype
2) switch text input method to default keyboard and then back to swype
3) hard re-set phone, and none works in restoring swype. Oddly, in the "settings/language and keyboard" menu, swype is checked as enabled, but in actuality it isn't.
Hello! I'm trying to set up my wife's droid 2. She uses outlook at work. I have outlook webmail set up on her phone. She is able to receive work emails but can not reply or send an email on her phone. It always says message not sent. Is there a setting I'm missing?

View 1 Replies View RelatedA while back I was looking through either the stock messaging app or Handcent and saw an option to auto reply to text messages, and you could change the text to make it say whatever you needed it to say. Today I tried looking for that option again and didn't find anything. I searched on the forum but only found other apps that I would need to install in order to do this. Hopefully someone knows what option I am talking about or uses it. If not, I can always use Tasker to do this, but prefer to use the messaging apps.Edit: So I found the answer about 30 seconds after posting this. The only way I can reply with a picture message, is getting out of the messenger, opening up my album then finding the pic and sending it out that way. Is there a better way to do this?

Of all issues HTC is making statements on, this is one that hasn't been acknowledged at all. I think most people just attribute it to poor reception when really it's just a flaw in the jack design. It seems to be the case in every 0003 I've come across, but I'm not 100% sure on the 0002s... Maybe we can get some input here.
When fully plugged in, the connector pin for antenna is not always touching a contact on your 3.5mm plug. Supposedly some headphones work, but there may be slight variations in the headphone plugs by manufacturer that would work. I've tried several sets... AKG, Skullcandy, Panasonic, Phillips, etc. and several Evos, they all have the same problem. Try this: Turn on the FM radio without headphones. It'll ask you to plug headphones in to use as an antenna. Plug the headphones all the way in, until it snaps, and it'll start tuning... You'll then hear nothing but static OR get lousy reception that changes a lot when you move the headphone cables around, right?................
