anyone else having issues w/ latitude not updating? my friend and i both have incredibles, but my friends location will not update. if he hides the location and turns it back on, it will update on my phone. but, it's not updating when i hit the refresh button on my incredible.

Anyone use google latitude? I have been messing with it and since 2.1 it will not update friends location. Anyone else have that issue.

Google Talk photos are not updated to reflect my Google Account.i.e. Some people have no photo displayed on the phone, but on my computer (in my Google Account) there is actually a photo, whether it be one the user selected or I set for them. And the photos that are there are not updated when/if someone changes it. The old one remains there.
2. Google Latitude photos do just the same. They are not updating... Anyboy experiencing similar problems, or have a fix? The photos seem to update, but slower in my contacts (People). But they don't update in the Google-based apps, which is wierd.
It used to work fine but about 3 months ago it had just stopped updating on either of our phones. I have a friend on my friends list and his latitude position updates on my phoned fine (although her has disappeared also in the last few days also). The only way I can get too see my wifes location oon my phone is for her to open google maps on her phone to update her position. The same is true for her to see my location on her phone. No settings have been changed so I don't know what had happened, does anyone know how to fix this bug?

I'm running my GPS when Maps is used...rather than a triangulation method w/ the towers. However...there have been QUITE a few occurances where Latitude shows me in a totally different STATE. I live in metro Atlanta, but apparently, I spend a lot of time at a country club near DFW in Texas. Once, I was going down the road...started up Maps, and it was tracing me going up an interstate in a city 120 miles away from me. At the time, I was no where NEAR an interstate...but Maps was showing my movement second by second.
This is rather irritating. Google developed the O/S, they developed Latitude...yet Latitude seems to work fine on other phones OTHER than the G1. Upon reading up on Google's Help Forums...I'm not the only one with problems when it comes to Latitude and Android.

My update reach from half and hour to 7 hours. Often it only updates every 3 hours. My battery is full to 3/4 at this time.
According to Google the updates depend on how often you move and how strong your battery is, but the update will never take longer than 1 hour.
Do you guys experience the same problem?
I am using the HTC Clock widget that also shows the weather (default widget on home page) but it doesnt update the location or weather. I have turned off GPS and background sync to save battery and I am assuming this is the reason why it isn't updating. Can someone confirm this is the reason? BTW I absolutely love the phone!

Google's Latitude is in my app drawer, but I cannot find it to remove it in System > Apps nor through Titanium backup. Is this because it's integrated into Maps and only has the app drawer shortcut for ease of access (like Places, Nav, etc.)? Any way to remove this "feature" or to at least remove the shortcut from the app launcher? (I'm not confident enough to run things from a pc command line - don't even know what tools I'd need on my pc to get to that stage either so a way for noobs would be preferred)

I tried logging out and back in then 'resyncing' it again to no avail. Any resolution to this problem? I see that some Evo and Hero users are having the same problem.

I believe i know how to do it,

2) DO NOT PLUG IN YOUR PHONE
3) Run unrEVOked v3.0
4) Under FILE choose CUSTOM RECOVERY
5) Point to the img file
6) Plug in your phone
What does the new version do that the old one doesnt?
Is it in my best interest to do it?

Yes, Auto sync is on. Yes I've even manually synced it.I put the contact in there 3 days ago. It has complete info, even added it to my favorites and friends.STILL NO UPDATE INTO MY GMAIL ACCOUNT.I LOVE this phone but its little things like this that have me still keep me missing my blackberry.)
View 8 Replies View RelatedUnfortunately, when you link the Facebook contacts to your device it will save their picture that you had when you first linked the contacts to your Gmail.You would have to delete them and re-add them if you want to change the pictures.
