Sep 1, 2010So I unrooted my phone to update it to froyo. I want to get root back but if I update to froyo will I be able to use unprovoked to root it?

HTC Incredible :: After Updating To Froyo Battery Charges To Slowly For GPS.
Sep 3, 2010Before Froyo, I was able to charge my phone in my car and use the GPS. Now, with Froyo, my phone charges way too slowly. Infact, my phone actually DISCHARGES while uses the Navigation when plugged in!! I have two questions:
1. Is Froyo designed to slow charge the phone?
2. If so, it makes my GPS setup defective. How do I revert back from 2.2. to 2.1?

Aug 22, 2010I am on Orange so I am hoping to get the Froyo update sometime this week or the weekend. I was wondering what do I need to back up prior to updating. Will I need to back up my contacts, calendar etc? Does the upgrade wipe these?

Aug 4, 2010I got the update request on my phone for Froyo 2.2. I downloaded it using the WIFI. However when it came time to install it said I did not have enough memory and took me to a screen to delete some apps which I did.
After doing this I no longer get the request to upgrade and when I check to see if there any updates available (under "About Phone") it says "there are no updates available". I checked to see what the latest firmware was and it says 2.1 so I know it hasn't updated. I have no idea how to download it again and I have called Vodafone (my service provider), HTC and Carphone Warehouse (the place I got it from) to no avail.

Nov 15, 2010Ok so I've searched the forums high and low. But I haven't been able to get a clear answer or solution. But anyway I did the Froyo update on Oct 7th. Im really lovein the flash capability. But since then none of my widgets are updating. Face book, social network, Recent messages and news. When I try to update a status on my social network one it jus says, "can't send update. Message failure. " And I have the orange triangle with exclamation point on most of my messaging icons. So I just need to know if this is either a soft where fix I need to wait for. Or is their something I can do to fix this myself.

I just checked my usage and am showing that out of 14 hours since reboot it's been awak for 11 hours. Eight of those hours were spent plugged in on my nightstand last night.

Aug 15, 2010after updating (the official update) my HTC Desire to Froyo 2.2 I cannot capture any Video (any resolution). It happens that I press the trackball and the timer (on the upper-right corner) disappears and nothing works anymore (menu, etc...), only the Home button allow me to go back to the home panel. After doing that, the battery die in a few minutes and the phone is very slow: i.e. some video camera service is still up and running and consuming battery.

Oct 21, 2010I was following the "guide to rooting no mater whats your status" and got stuck because of a bad link, then found a new link later on in the thread and that still didnt work (staus 7 error) anyways i have a rooted 2.1 with now unrevoked-forever, S-off.....what should i do from here, just stay with 2.1 and just mess with roms, or try and find another thread for updating to 2.2 with a rooted 2.1?

Jul 16, 2010I looked through the forums but didn't see any answer to this issue; I have a DINC and when I logged in to Facebook the first time and linked the photos they all showed up; but now when people update their picture, it doesn't update on my Incredible. I tried logging out and back in then 'resyncing' it again to no avail. Any resolution to this problem? I see that some Evo and Hero users are having the same problem.

2) DO NOT PLUG IN YOUR PHONE
3) Run unrEVOked v3.0
4) Under FILE choose CUSTOM RECOVERY
5) Point to the img file
6) Plug in your phone
What does the new version do that the old one doesnt?
Is it in my best interest to do it?
How do I do it with v3.1?

May 18, 2010Yes, Auto sync is on. Yes I've even manually synced it.I put the contact in there 3 days ago. It has complete info, even added it to my favorites and friends.STILL NO UPDATE INTO MY GMAIL ACCOUNT.I LOVE this phone but its little things like this that have me still keep me missing my blackberry.)

May 10, 2010Unfortunately, when you link the Facebook contacts to your device it will save their picture that you had when you first linked the contacts to your Gmail.You would have to delete them and re-add them if you want to change the pictures.

I've already tried clearing the data in the Calendar application, and manually syncing them. I go into Menu>Setting>Update automatically, click on the box, then get the Data warning "this may result in additional charges from your wireless provider. Enable automatic download of weather data"
Click on YES
then I back out, and go back in to the setting, and the box is UNCHECKED again.
It's not holding the update yes setting.

Nov 18, 2010So, I noticed this when the new Angry Birds Update game out (the one that added 45 new levels). Whenever I try to update this app, it downloads, but the installation always starts and just stops, saying the installation was incomplete. Of course, I went and took the next step, uninstalling, and trying to reinstall. Same problem. If I was looking at the Angry Birds screen on the market during this, it pops up Installation error Unknown reason-18 I ran into the same issue with Google Sky Map updating, and reinstalling. Same error message. Does anyone know what this error is?

Jul 24, 2010Anyone having trouble with widgets stop updating? Like my clock/calendar/weather/news/pretty much any widget i have stops updating after an hour. So i look at my clock widget two hours later and it is an hour behind. Happens to ALL my widgets.Even the quick turn on/off wifi,bt,gps and such. They just stop updating/showing animation.I have ADW launcher installed. I am wondering if it is that. I do not really want to remove it as i hate the stock 3 button interface at the bottom (why do i need a contacts and phone, just use the phone to look thru contacts, wasted space IMO) and am quite keen on keeping the 5 button.Any ideas? If i power off the phone and turn it back on it's fine again for about an hour. SOmetimes randomly thru the day it will start updating and working fine again then randomly stop again.

Google Talk photos are not updated to reflect my Google Account.i.e. Some people have no photo displayed on the phone, but on my computer (in my Google Account) there is actually a photo, whether it be one the user selected or I set for them. And the photos that are there are not updated when/if someone changes it. The old one remains there.
2. Google Latitude photos do just the same. They are not updating... Anyboy experiencing similar problems, or have a fix? The photos seem to update, but slower in my contacts (People). But they don't update in the Google-based apps, which is wierd.
HTC Incredible :: URL Input - Autocorrect Not Updating Properly
Aug 28, 2010When I try to enter something into the url/search bar on either the stock browser or dolphin hd (which is what I normally use) one of two things happens. Either the input box simply closes after a few keystrokes and I have to start from scratch, or the input on my screen doesnt match up with what is actually sent. Generally, the autocorrect will not be updating properly, and will refuse to even give me the option to send what I've written and will insist I go to a previous page, even If I just want to do a Google search from the bar.
Other times, it will start to accept input into the suggestion window but stop after a few letters, and when I hit return to go, it will only take those few letters it has acknowledged, rather than what is actually in the Input window. The only work around I've found Is that if I just close the keyboard and click the box again, the correction window will be gone and it will use the text I'd entered. This is only if I am in the version of they keyboard with the .com shortcut, e.g. URL entry. The fact that it happens in multiple browsers make me feel like it's a problem with how the sense keyboard is handling URL input.

Sep 7, 2010I dragged and dropped music from iTunes right onto a "My Music" folder on my SD card while my INC was connected to my Mac using the USB wire. Today, I found out how to copy and paste wirelessly and did so, but the Music Library Applications are not updating. I checked the My Music folder on my SD card and the music is in fact, there but not showing up in any of the music library's.
