I don't have headphones plugged in and I am getting the icon. And also sometimes getting headset as well and am not able to get or make phone calls when this is active. I have to phone off phone to reset this.

I like to listen to MP3 with my Hero. But the ringtone volume is way too high with a headphone. So before plugging in the headphone, I have to manually turn down the volume. And also I have to remember to revert it back to normal level when the headphone is unplugged. Is there an app to do it automatically? Or am I the only one here?

1. When my car is off, I need the telephone audio to go out the headphone jack.
2. When my car is on, I need the Moment to make a Bluetooth connection with the car and send the telephone audio to the car.
3. I need to keep the audio cable plugged into the headphone jack 24/7.
It is an extremely long story, so just assume 1, 2, and 3 are true and accept that premise.
If the car is on Bluetooth is active but there is an audio cable plugged into the headphone jack, audio is sent out the cable and NOT via Bluetooth. So when the car is on, I need to trick the Moment into not realizing that there is a audio cable plugged into the headphone jack, so that it will send the audio via Bluetooth to the car.Here's my plan:
Disconnect the audio jack from the Moment.
Wire speaker audio to the audio jack.
Assume I have a PACE SMT kit and am comfortable with dealing with surface mount components.From the physical layout, is this do-able?
speaker works as it supposed to work in stock rom but in ported it doesnt.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my plug stopped working, ive only had my galaxy s4 active is only 2 weeks old. it only charges when plugged into my laptop or xbox, but when i plug it in the manufactured plug and usb cord the phone will not charge while on. when off, the phone just vibrates every 3 seconds. and will not charge.
it used to charge on the plug when i would have it already plugged into my computer for a little bit. but now it doest work anymore..
I tried using the jack to hook up to the car and a portable speaker system. When I did, the phone went crazy and the voice dialer screen came on the tried dialing a number from my contacts. Has anyone had this happen or know.

(I could do a very large review on it vs. an iphone 3g.However, I have found that my corporate email calendar is not syncing correctly. I am missing events! I have reinstalled the active sync account 3 times now and each time it resyncs different calendar items.I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this or if I am just doing something wrong.

On my old phone if I plug headphones or 3.5cable into the jack the phone thinks it has a Mic and disables the one on the phone. So if I get a call while in the car listening to music I can answer the phone and hear the caller through my car stereo but they cannot hear me. Am I going to need a special cable with mic to use in my car?
I don't have my Incredible yet but want to make sure I have all the cables and gadgets before it gets here in a couple weeks. I do a lot of car traveling for business and need to make calls and listen to music.
Trying to use an fm transmitter and panora just constantly skips songs and then the voice dialer comes up and then it randomly calls a contact. Anyone know how to disable whatever feature lets it receive commands via jack?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've recently come to the conclusion that the sound quality on the Droid Incredible is sub-par. I'm talking about the headphone output when playing music MP3's or Pandora streaming ... not call/reception quality. The sound is just not as clear, bass is very muddy, and treble is compressed.
Anyone else make these observations? Maybe it's just my phone? Fwiw, I compared the Inc against a Creative Xen Micro MP3 player and a Nu Force USB DAC on my PC. Headphones I tested were with decent Westone UM2 and Grado SR80. Most of my audio sources were electronic / trance MP3's at high bit rate, which tend to have a very full range of bass & treble.
I'm assuming this is just HTC's electronic design ... choice of DAC's, opamps, etc.
I take my phone everywhere with me, usually on my hip in a holster of some type. The headphone jack on the Dinc represents a substantial port of entry for dirt and moisture. I know I had an LG flip phone years ago that make with a rubber plug to prevent such substances from entering.
I am hoping that someone here has a solution for the Dinc, and hopefully available at say, Lowes, instead of ordering a $0.10 piece of rubber off the internets. It doesn't have to be a "headphone jack plug" per se, but something that will work just the same?
To those that have gotten the incredible early (lucky bastards!), how is the sound quality and volume through the headphone jack? i currently have a moto droid and might switch to the incredible. one concern is the output through the headphone jack. the droid is very quiet through the headphone jack and before the 2.0.1 update had a terrible crackle on the left channel. does the incredible sound good through the headphone jack? any crackle at higher volumes? does it get loud? really loud?

I looked over and the phone had obviously rebooted itself. This is the only time this has happened to my DINC. I don't find anything out of the ordinary on the phone. Any clues why it would reboot itself without being asked?

View 20 Replies View RelatedI was able to root my phone with this method when everything else failed. Try this if you have had trouble with other methods. I did not discover this, I heard it from someone on IRC (forgot who).
1. With your phone booted up and plugged in via USB, type adb reboot recovery.
2. Start your adb shell loop (using the while loop or bat file).
3. Click in and out your SD card repeatedly while the phone is booting into recovery (apparently every 0.5 sec will do).
4. Watch for "- exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -" to appear in your terminal
5. Follow the rest of the instructions at public:adb_in_recovery [RootWiki]
It's my wife who has the Incredible and neither of us can figure out how to turn the screen off when it's plugged in and charging.It stays on all night and is very annoying.If there is a mode to turn this off, please enlighten me.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMaybe others already know this or figured this out. Apparently our phones work a lot like a Blackberry. On a Blackberry if you hit the home key or end key to exit an app it will stay running. Same thing happens here. However, if you hit the return key to exit the app it will stop running.
I tested this out on my Incredible and it also works. I used Facebook and a couple other apps as examples. If I go in to the app and then leave the app by hitting the home key it stays as an Active backgrounded app. If I however use the return key to leave the app and return to my home screen then the app is listed as inactive cached. This could help a lot of people with battery life and sleep issues, but I'm not sure. I know the way Android works that background apps aren't supposed to really do anything There does appear to be a difference though. This also works on the Engadget app which I've heard people mention for not closing.
While making an 8 hour trek to Chicago this weekend, I learned something horrible about my dearest Incredible. She overheats, BADLY when I have my GPS on. Three hours into my drive, my phone actually shut down. So I was curious if anyone had any pointers, or had this happen as well? I had my screen at MINIMAL brightness, had the GPS on and had screen on to follow along, was streaming music from pandora as well. All updates for email/twitter/fb or anything were turned off. Now I had the phone on my shifter console, where there was no sun. But it was on it's back, so on the assumption that it couldn't "breathe", I wedged the top against the opening to my CD player so it was tilted. So air could get to the back of the phone, STILL my status for my battery was "over heat." I had no case, or holder on, nor did I plug it in to charge.
After the phone shut down I took the back casing off, took the battery out, and let it sit on the floor and turned the A/C vents towards it. But really disappointed that my phone couldn't handle the trek. Anyone have any helpful tips about keeping their phone from overheating, or WHAT TO DO? Or if I damaged my phone? It overheated 3 times on my drive...and really disappointed I'm going to have to dust off my Garmin.
Is there a way to set different behaviors based on whether the phone is plugged in? For example, I want my screen to stay on when I have it plugged in in my car. Is that possible?

When I attempt to go to the out of office on the phone it says the following: "Unable to get your Out of Office settings from the Exchange server right now. Please try again later." I've never seen it work & was wondering if anyone has the same issue or knows how to fix it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running the Lite official 2.2 ROM. I'm seeing a lot more BS running in the background than I used to on 2.1 (using System Panel Lite). Another thing I noticed is that no matter how I try to exit an app, none of them go inactive. They are all still listed as active. I'm not hitting "home" to back out, I'm actually hitting the back button. I didn't used to see this behavior on 2.1-1. If I backed out of an app (gmail, quadrant, youtube, etc) they went to "inactive".
Now all are listed as active I've had a ton of little quirks with this ROM but I've been working through it. It's almost totally up to what I want except the issues of stuff running I don't start ("Mail", BUA, etc) and stuff not going inactive when not in use. I don't use any ATKs or anything, since I know better. But I don't want to have to constantly kill un-needed apps in System Panel because they're not going inactive like they used to.
This is not a perfect solution but it does give a work around to the fact that, even though you can set the phone to not have the screen shut off when plugged in, you still have the problem of it dimming to lowest setting. Anyway, what I did to fix this was to download a program on the app store called keep screen. It gives you the option to make it so that the screen doesn't time out or dim for certain apps. What I did was just go in and select all apps and tell it to not dim on any of them.
Then on the front page of this app there is a button to "start/stop service" I use this button like a toggle. If my phone is plugged in I toggle that button and toggle it off when I unplug. It is not a perfect solution and requires manually doing the toggling but it's the best solution I have found to keep the screen and brightness up when my phone is plugged in. Anyway, just thought I would share in case anyone else was looking for a solution for this. Also, if anyone has found a better way of doing this i would love to hear it.
Picked up the Incredible the day it was release and have had no issues what so ever. I rooted the phone last night, and today Exchange Active Sync will not let my phone sleep. If I remove my Exchange account, or simply disable active sync, then the phone sleeps.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having a calendar problem Microsoft Exchange/Active Sync. Calendar items I enter in my Incredible show up on Outlook. Initially, my Outlook calendar items also showed up on my Incredible but those calendar items have now disappeared after about three days and any new calendar items entered in Outlook do not appear. Email works fine and contacts entered in either Outlook or the Incredible sync without a problem.

I have Activesync working fine, able to receive and send emails, have all of my contacts and calendar items. Works flawlessly, other than the Company Directory. When I search for someone in the Global Address List using the Online Directories and then Company Directory I get the person, their email, Company and Title but no phone numbers. I have used a couple of iPhones and they return all the info and accessing the OMA page and searching returns all the info. Any thoughts? I looked at the logs on the OMA sever (also our OWA server) and show no errors in the Event viewer or the IIS logs and VZW was completely useless.
