View 1 RepliesHow we can route audio output via speaker even when the headset is plugged in?
My code:..................
1. When my car is off, I need the telephone audio to go out the headphone jack.
2. When my car is on, I need the Moment to make a Bluetooth connection with the car and send the telephone audio to the car.
3. I need to keep the audio cable plugged into the headphone jack 24/7.
It is an extremely long story, so just assume 1, 2, and 3 are true and accept that premise.
If the car is on Bluetooth is active but there is an audio cable plugged into the headphone jack, audio is sent out the cable and NOT via Bluetooth. So when the car is on, I need to trick the Moment into not realizing that there is a audio cable plugged into the headphone jack, so that it will send the audio via Bluetooth to the car. Here's my plan:
Disconnect the audio jack from the Moment.
Wire speaker audio to the audio jack.
Assume I have a PACE SMT kit and am comfortable with dealing with surface mount components. From the physical layout, is this do-able?
I have so far found two bugs in Galaxo 1.6.3:
a) Speaker doesn't work in call (very weak). works well in ringtones etc.
b) Scrolling contacts by letter doesn't work.
Other than that this is a leap forward, especially with the overclock options!
Both bugs, as well as others, fixed in 1.6.3.1 update!
I am looking into writing some apps for Android phones that work with audio. These phones do not have a line in jack but do have headphone jacks that work with some headsets that include a microphone. Is it possible to work with audio coming in through the headphone jack if I plugged in something like a portable computer mic?

But now the phone is randomly stuck in headphone mode. I have searched the forum and the only fix people have mentioned is rebooting and taking out the battery... That doesn't work for me.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an old TV with a DVI connection - I have put an HDMI Convertor on it and it woks fine with my laptop - so with a laptop I output the video via the HDMI cable to the television and stick an audio cable in the headphone socket and get the sound through my hifi.
Someone tried it for me just using a HDMI to HDMI and no sound came from the headphone jack however I wondered if because mine was not "true" HDMI it might work? Will an android tablet do this?
I like to listen to MP3 with my Hero. But the ringtone volume is way too high with a headphone. So before plugging in the headphone, I have to manually turn down the volume. And also I have to remember to revert it back to normal level when the headphone is unplugged. Is there an app to do it automatically? Or am I the only one here?

View 2 Replies View Relatedfound an app that will allow me to send audio to a bluetooth receiver / speaker AND allow me to use headphones / wired speaker at the same time??
I'm not rooted. If this could be done via rooting, I might just consider doing it.
AND, while I'm asking, can the audio signal be sent to and received by two different bluetooth receivers at the same time? I currently only have one bluetooth audio receiver, so I can't try it.
I bumped an old thread ( http://androidforums.com/htc-droid-eris/60269-eternal-speaker-still-plays-while-headphones-plugged.html#post1893727 )but then realized it was for a specific phone (not mine).
I listen to music or podcasts all day long at work. When I get a call, I pull out the headphones and answer the call. From time to time, I will not get any audio through the phones normal speaker. It will work if I plug back in the headphones or if I go to speaker phone. The only way I have found that will clear up this issue, is to pull the battery and reboot. It is like my phone is getting stuck into thinking the headphones are still in.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a samsung galaxy s2 on AT&T running android 4.0.4. I have the bluetooth set up to play audio through my car stereo.
Everything was working fine until a couple of days ago when I accidentally booted my phone into safe mode. I re-booted it back into normal mode, but a lot of my settings got messed up after that happened.
The odd thing is that now, when I am in my car, the phone connects to the stereo over bluetooth - I see the name of the song, artist, etc information on the car stereo, and can do things like skip to the next song using the controls in the car. However, the sound actually plays through the phone speaker instead of the car speakers!
I have my HTC hero and when I plug in my headphones and the phone rings or I get a text notification, both the headphones and external speaker ring. Is there a way to get the ring/notification only through the headphones? I really don't want to have to turn my phone on silent mode and just have a pause when the phone rings while I'm listening to music. so far i have been unable to find a setting or app for this issue.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have my headphones plugged in (yes they're plugged all the way in), I get an email/text/gtalk notification. The notification sound comes through both my headphones and the rear speaker. What's up with that, I'd like for all sound to come through the headphones when they're plugged in.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe Eternal Speaker plays forever. I never noticed it before today, but my Eris is definitely not disabling music playback through the eternal speaker when I plug headphones (or an adapter, or anything) into the headphone jack. Sound still comes through the earbuds or headphones nice and crisp, just the speaker is ALSO playing the same sound, at the same volume.
This sort of defeats the purpose of one of the main reasons I use headphones- to mute sound for everyone but me. I tried different music players, different headphones, made sure the phone knew they were non-mic headphones, everything. I can't find a setting to tell the speaker to disable when headphones are in- isn't it supposed to be automatic?
My captivate external speaker plays music while I'm listening to the headphones, am I missing a setting to turn this off? Shouldn't the phone's external speaker not be playing music while I'm using my headphones? Sometimes the external speaker will remain silent while my headphones are working (as I would imagine should be the case) until I receive a text message, and then the external speaker will play music along with the headphones. Anyone think this could be a problem with my device? My 30 day period expires on Sept.5 so I am wondering if I should return it for an exchange?
View 4 Replies View RelatedDuring a video hangout, the audio randomly switches from "speakerphone" mode to handset mode. The video itself is fine. The other person's audio will get really quiet because it's coming from the handset speaker, and they will complain that they can't hear me anymore.
After this happens, I can manually hit the speaker button and choose the option to use the Speaker rather than Handset mode, and the problem fixes itself. However, the fix usually lasts less than a couple minutes. Within 1-3 minutes it will change back to handset mode. This happens even if the phone is sitting down on the table during the hangout and I'm not interacting with it and there's no chance for me to inadvertently press a button or cover up the proximity sensor.
I'm using an EVO LTE with a stock ROM w/ root if matters.
I really like my Eris but the volume level is really bothering me. I can plug my IPod touch (with volume about 90%) into my car using the headphone jack and setting my car volume to a little less than half way is plenty loud. Playing the same audio tracks through the headphone jack of my Eris plugged in the exact same way with the volume cranked all the way up and I have to literally turn the stereo volume to the max to get the same level.
View 7 Replies View RelatedCan anyone please comment on the audio quality through the 3.5mm headphone jack on the Droid? I will be using Skullcandy Titans which are in-ear earphones with noise isolation. I am hoping it is at least as good as that through my iPod nano 4th gen. I know that isn't an amazing benchmark but I'll be satisfied if it sounds at least that good with high-quality audio stored on the SD card. Speaking of SD card, do they still pack in the 16GB MicroSD card with Droids these days?

All audio function works when I plug in the headphones though (dialer, video, etc) Is there anything I can do to fix it? View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I plug in my audio jack into my desire to listen to music with my speakers, sometimes the media player goes crazy. It skip songs, fast forward, it makes random calls. And all sorts of crazy things. I googled around, looks like quite a number of htc users face this problem too. What are your advice on this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat do you think of the audio level on the speaker of the incrediable?
I feel it is low and weak compared to the Motorola Droid.....
Just purchased the Legend and there appears to be an issue with the speaker. I want to identify if it is just my phone or if other users are experiencing this problem. The speaker on the phone is producing static whenever audio is being played. It can be heard clearly when doing the following: Click on the volume button on the side (either up or down) and place the phone to your ear. Open the phone application, click on a number and place the phone to your ear. The static lasts for 5 or 6 seconds and then dies off. Would appreciate if anybody with the phone coud check this out as I'm unsure if a return is required.
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust put the latest ROM on my phone last night and rooted. I was all excited adding my apps back and setting the phone up that I neglected to test the phone.
I received a phone call today and couldn't hear anything. Like the person on the other end muted their phone. Now the kicker, if I put the phone on Speakerphone I can hear the caller just fine (as fine as pre 2.2). I looked around and haven't been able to find any reference to this.
Not sure if this is a GS issue or a Navigon issue...I am trying to use Navigon with a headset. But when there is audio guidance, the audio comes on both the speaker and the headset. I would expect the audio to be heard only from the headset.

View 9 Replies View RelatedOkay so sometime yesterday my headphone jack just stopped working; the sound would only come out of the phone even with a headphone plugged in. I took the headphones out, turned it off, and turned it back on. Working again, no problem. Now today, I'm listening to music and realize I'm only getting sound out of one earbud. I thought it was weird for a headphone to blow out since I just recently got it in March, but I figured it must've just been that - a blown out earbud. However, my friend tried his headphones in there just to make sure, and the same thing happened. He wasn't getting sound out of his left (or right, not sure) earbud. I've tried turning it off and on with the headphones out, the headphones in, as well as downloading that headphone jack toggler from another thread I found on here. Same problem. :/ Is my headphone jack done for? Am I gonna have to get it replaced? Will the basic warranty even cover something like this? I guarantee I didn't drop it or get it submerged in water or anything...
