How do I have to have my Incredible set to have it play music from my SD card while I have it plugged into the charger in my car? When it's plugged in the SD card is not recognized.

Got my Incredible a couple of weeks ago, and I'm very happy with my purchase. I'm an experienced smart phone user(4 generations of Treo's, Blackberry, Moto Droid), but I've encountered an issue that has me perplexed.I loaded about 20 mp3's in a folder I created on my SD card.I immediately checked the default music player and was happy to find that it found and played all 20 songs.I went back to use the music player a day or so later and found it listed all of the newly loaded songs twice.In looking at the details of the songs, I found that somehow a process on my Incredible copied all 20 songs to the internal memory! I was hoping to eventually load about 10GB of music to my SD card with the assumption that I could play those songs directly from the card.But until I figure this out, that obviously is not going to happen.I'm hoping the collective brilliance of this group will explain this unusual behavior and solve this problem.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis has been going on for awhile; not Froyo related When I have Slacker Radio or Pandora on, and I plug my phone into an external speaker though the headphone jack, another music player,(Mixzing, Mspot, Double twist, etc) will start to play music that is stored on my storage card! Even if I force close it, in a minute or so it starts itself up again.. This only happens if I am running Slacker Radio or Pandora.. anyone have a suggestion? This is annoying as hell, since I like listening to Slacker/Pandora through my external speakers, but having 2 songs going at once is bizarre!!

Am I doing something wrong? I need something like iTunes where I can drag my computer files and put them onto iTunes-->Phone.I am currently creating folders in my sd drive for music. I'm glad it can read different folders and files inside them! But there has to be an easier solution..
View 1 Replies View RelatedWould love a good music app for my captivate which bypasses everything and immediately goes to the last song played and begins from there. Bypasses the unlock screen and any "last apps" I was using. A true "plug and play". Is there such an app? Right now I have to plug in the phones, unlock the phone, back out of my messenger or email program, select the music app, select the album or artist and then the songs. Its all a bit tiring if I do it somewhat frequently like in and out of the car.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI just activated replacement Eris number two. Upon plugging it into my PC, the phone started playing a loud music track at maximum volume. When I went to adjust my volume, I found that this sound was being controlled by my ringtone volume and not media volume (interesting). I did a reboot of the phone and was greeted by the sound as soon as I plugged it in. The sound's duration is about thirty seconds.
I've plugged it into the other computer here and had the same issue. I've had it plugged into my computer for about an hour, and I have heard the music start up without notice twice so far. I did a google search as well as a search here and haven't found another user with this peculiar (if amusing/irritating) issue. I can upload a video/soundclip if wanted. I was considering rooting but I don't want to have to go to the trouble if I'm going to have to send this phone back to Verizon.
Alright I'm sorry for such a stupid question but how do I access the SD card to add APKs when plugged into the computer?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI went to use my Eris as a music player for the first time. I plugged in my headphones and tested it out by playing a song. The song plays loud and clear through the headphones, but also plays loud and clear through the phone speaker/earpiece. I could not figure out why it would not just play through the headphones. (I have tried a pair of apple earbuds, as well as basic Sony ones).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI uploaded 100 songs to my SD card from my PC. When I opened the music player app in the phone, it shows all 100 songs. So I opened up the songs list, picked a song and it played just fine. After the song I hit the forward button to play the next song (next song of the 100 that I had on there) and it played the same song again. So upon looking at the music player it now showed "1/1" at the top, instead of "1/100". It's like it's locked on that 1 song. If I go into the menu I can see all my songs, and I can choose/play them individually, but I can't have all 100 songs chosen, so that they'll just play one after the other. How do I make the music player show all 100 songs again? I just want to open up the music player, hit play, and sit back & enjoy the next 100 songs playing one after the other. I don't want to have to select each one individually to play. (Hopefully this wasn't too confusing).

Shouldn't the phone's external speaker not be playing music while I'm using my headphones? Sometimes the external speaker will remain silent while my headphones are working (as I would imagine should be the case) until I receive a text message, and then the external speaker will play music along with the headphones. Anyone think this could be a problem with my device? My 30 day period expires on Sept.5 so I am wondering if I should return it for an exchange?

I just put a bunch of videos into a folder I created titled "Videos" and now Act1 can't find em and the default picture viewer seems to create doubles. How do you guys organize them? Ok I just restarted my device and it looks like apps are starting to read things right again, so that's good. It's ok if I keep everything in a created folder right?

I currently use PlayerPro from the market, and I wanted to use the Google cloud for "wirelessly syncing" my music.
I use doubletwist for listening to new music that is stored on my SD card. I use Google Music for streaming my favorite tracks that I have uploaded. The problem is Google Music automatically searches my SD card and displays all the music stored on my phone along with the artists/playlists/etc. that I have stored on the cloud, which makes it confusing when browsing the library. Can I prevent Google Music from searching and displaying what's on the SD card, but still allow doubletwist to see it?

I looked over and the phone had obviously rebooted itself. This is the only time this has happened to my DINC. I don't find anything out of the ordinary on the phone. Any clues why it would reboot itself without being asked?

View 20 Replies View RelatedI was able to root my phone with this method when everything else failed. Try this if you have had trouble with other methods. I did not discover this, I heard it from someone on IRC (forgot who).
1. With your phone booted up and plugged in via USB, type adb reboot recovery.
2. Start your adb shell loop (using the while loop or bat file).
3. Click in and out your SD card repeatedly while the phone is booting into recovery (apparently every 0.5 sec will do).
4. Watch for "- exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -" to appear in your terminal
5. Follow the rest of the instructions at public:adb_in_recovery [RootWiki]
It's my wife who has the Incredible and neither of us can figure out how to turn the screen off when it's plugged in and charging.It stays on all night and is very annoying.If there is a mode to turn this off, please enlighten me.

The odd thing is, when i went to play some music using the music player, only about a quarter of the songs showed up. When I used Android File Manage to check the SD card, they were all there and playable. All the songs are MP3 format. how I can get the songs to work on the music player?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is not a perfect solution but it does give a work around to the fact that, even though you can set the phone to not have the screen shut off when plugged in, you still have the problem of it dimming to lowest setting. Anyway, what I did to fix this was to download a program on the app store called keep screen. It gives you the option to make it so that the screen doesn't time out or dim for certain apps. What I did was just go in and select all apps and tell it to not dim on any of them.
Then on the front page of this app there is a button to "start/stop service" I use this button like a toggle. If my phone is plugged in I toggle that button and toggle it off when I unplug. It is not a perfect solution and requires manually doing the toggling but it's the best solution I have found to keep the screen and brightness up when my phone is plugged in. Anyway, just thought I would share in case anyone else was looking for a solution for this. Also, if anyone has found a better way of doing this i would love to hear it.
I get the blinking green light for a notification like your are supposed to, however it does not happen when the phone is plugged in and charging. Any suggestions?

I have been trying to transfer my music from the folders to the sd card (made the folder and named it "Music".It will show for a lil while and when i go back into the folder in the sd, says it empty.I also downloaded the doubleTwist program, the files transfers okay, and then the same thing again.I have already formatted the new sd card and also factory reset the phone but it keeps on doing the same thing.
