I am not sure how this is happening, however, my customer ringtone frequently changes to some other short stock ringtone. I discovered that if I shut the Inc off and turn it back on, my custom ringtone returns.
Anybody know what is causing this and how it can be stopped?

I just traded my Palm Pre for a Samsung Moment today (made the deal off of Craigs List). The phone worked great all afternoon after I got it but 30 minutes ago I pulled it out to enter something into my calendar and it was off. I tried to turn it on but it seems dead.The battery has at least 40% remaining last time I looked and it is charging right now just in case. Anybody else have this happen? Is there some special way to turn this on that I don't know about? I held down the hang up button to turn it on and it is not working.Any ideas? (The Sprint rep at the store where I swapped with the other person said the warranty sticks to where ever the ESID is active - meaning on my account so I do have the warranty for it).
View 13 Replies View RelatedFor a few weeks, my phone has been shutting itself off randomly for no apparent reason. I remove the battery, pop it back in, and it powers up normally. It's off now, I've removed the battery (for about 10 - 15 seconds) and it still won't turn back on.

Anybody else figure out how to fix this without using an alarm from the market?And if not, what alarm from the market are people using that is reliable and uses any of your custom ringtones?

I also made a song a ringtone but it was not available to the text app. Someone mentioned Handscent but I was hoping to use the stock app. The Droids stock app apparently does allow music for ringtones as I just confirmed from my brother in law.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a couple of questions about the volume rocker: if i've got an incoming call I hear my ringtone going off, but when I click the volume rocker the ringtone gets shut down. You can imagine that's pretty annoying when the rocker gets inadvertently pressed in your pocket (since it's so sensitive), you'll practically always miss the call. when the phone is locked, the rocker is used for media volume when listening to music. This combined with the sensitivity of the button is pretty annoying as the volume keeps getting adjusted when the phone is in my pocket. Is there a solution to these problems? Can the volume rocker be disabled completely? I must add i'm probably noticing these things more because I've purchased a rather tight glove (Puro) for the phone, and the buttons get pressed rather easily.

But when I am in Settings for Notification Ringtones, I do not see the mp3 I added but only in Calling Ringtones. Why is this? I want to use the same ringtone for notifications too!.

Instead of returning me back to the bottom of the web page it always puts me at the top. Then I have to scroll all the way back to the bottom of the page again. Is there any way after hitting back that it could return me back to the bottom of the page, or from where I left off? My iPhone 3GS always did this and there has to be a way to do on my Evo.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can attest to the fact that this works. It even brings the little red x's back. Looks like new. I just tried it on my wife's LG Env3. She washed it a few months back and both stickers (on the battery and the phone) were completely red. Did the rice/oven trick and all was well, no problems whatsoever. Well lately she's been having some battery problems ,her phone has been shutting off randomly at times as if the battery is loosing connection with the phone. No corrosion issues from the wash, I honestly think this issue is unrelated. Well, it turns out that there was a problem with the Env3's battery/connection design and the Verizon rep. was happy to send her out a replacement phone right away. View 2 Replies View RelatedHad a problem with my alarm clock this morning. It went off @ one of the alarm times I have (although I could swear it wasn't checked to be on for today). But then I could not shut it off. Tried hitting nearly ever button both physical and virtual and the damned alarm wouldn't stop. I eventually just shut it off and turned it back on and that did the trick. Did I miss a step in how to turn alarm off?

When turning it off, it would alert you it would be turning back on at your alarm time to wake you and would do exactly that. Stock app doesn't do that. I've searched and gone through market apps descriptions looking for this function. At the least I want the alarm to go off when the phones turned off. I don't need it to notify me when its turning on, when its shutting down.

The other elements are found successfully, but foo comes back null. MyCustomView has a constructor MyCustomView(Context c, AttributeSet a) and a Log.d(...) at the end of that constructor appears successfully in logcat just before the "epic fail".
findViewById() returns null for custom component in layout XML, not for other components. Why is foo null?
I used the htc ringtone trimmed for one of the song in my music library on my phone and I'm sorry if there is already a thread for this but how are you able to delete these ringtones when you no longer want them? The program its self works fine for making ringtones but I cannot find anyway to delete them. I even looked in Astro. If someone doesnt mind could they please lend some advice on this. I've searched in the forums and I havnt found a solution to it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I use the task killer...and at the moment say when I kill tasks it'll tell me there is about 200M avaliable memory free...if I use the phone for a day it'll maybe go down to 150M even if I am still killing apps and there is nothing in 'running services'. If i turn off the phone and turn it back on it goes up to 250M. What is running that I can't stop myself to make it go down from the 250M but that I can just eliminate by turning off the phone?

Anyway, I was at work the other day doing a presentation and I thought I had my phone on vibrate. I did not and received a text message and the ringtone went off. I pushed the volume button down to silence it but it would not. If the phone is in lock mode, is it not possible to silence a message?

View 4 Replies View RelatedEverytime I "sync" or "load" more music from my computer to my EVO, the stupid custom ringtones I have for individual contacts reset, and I have to manually go in and change the ringtones for individual numbers. This has happened roughly 8 times so far. I've created the ringtones using RingDroid, and they are "on" the phone and available, they just won't stay on the contact I designate them for after plugging the phone into the computer.

Step 1. Get Audacity. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Step 2. Find a file named Lame_enc.dll This is the mp3 encoder needed for audacity to export files as mp3 files.
Step 3. Find something worth making a ringtone out of. Audacity has an excellent ability to record anything you can hear through your speakers. I instead just loaded the program. then open the mp3 file I wanted to use.
In this case I choose a file I recorded while I listened to it for the sole purpose of turning it into a ringtone. takes a sec to import it. Then Play the song to ensure it is what you want. Also note the time marks for when you want the ringtone to start and when you want it to end.
I've just got a Wildfire (Telstra Locked) and I am trying to change the Text Message notification ringtone but I cant see any options apart from the included tones, which are all crap.So any clues.By the way it is easy to add custom ringtones and change them but not the notification tones.
