HTC Incredible :: Custom Ringtone With Stock Alarm?
Oct 19, 2010I have noticed after 2.2 update that with the stock alarm you can't use custom ringtones, just the stock sense ones. Anybody else figure out how to fix this without using an alarm from the market?And if not, what alarm from the market are people using that is reliable and uses any of your custom ringtones?

May 5, 2010Is there a way to set a custom ringtone for text messages? I see in the music app to set a song as a ringtone but it doesn't let me set it as a text tone. I also made a song a ringtone but it was not available to the text app. Someone mentioned Handscent but I was hoping to use the stock app. The Droids stock app apparently does allow music for ringtones as I just confirmed from my brother in law.

Jul 7, 2010I am not sure how this is happening, however, my customer ringtone frequently changes to some other short stock ringtone. I discovered that if I shut the Inc off and turn it back on, my custom ringtone returns.
Anybody know what is causing this and how it can be stopped?

Jan 28, 2010Hey all, so I just got a Samsung Galaxy finally in the mail. It took long enough to figure out how to put music on it, then use my music for ringtones. But when I am in Settings for Notification Ringtones, I do not see the mp3 I added but only in Calling Ringtones. Why is this? I want to use the same ringtone for notifications too!.

Jun 15, 2010I followed all the instructions on the other really long thread. I am having one issue though. I installed SDK and the drivers, that all went perfect. The only issue I am having is with the actual bootanimation.zip. I am thoroughly stuck. After I download a bootanimation.zip it shows up in winrar with 4 files (loading, eye, android, and the desc.txt) I know it has to go in tools. I am just not sure how? Do I add each folder or is there a way to add them all? I also know the name has to be bootanimation.zip. I tried a few different ways and pushed it to my Inc. But I cant get it to boot with the animation.

Aug 21, 2010I'm new to the droid world but catching on quickly. i have a droid incredible, rooted and updated radio and running sky raider 2.5.2. i am trying to use a custom boot animation from droid boots. i have tried using adb and it puts the file in data/local but the problem i have is it still runs the one in system/media. i bought the root explorer app and followed another guide to pasting over top of original zip in system/media but then i get a message saying the file being pasted is too large and cannot be completed. i reboot and it hasn't changed still says sky raider. i know its a boot animation but i dunno its something for me to play around with.

May 17, 2010I used the htc ringtone trimmed for one of the song in my music library on my phone and I'm sorry if there is already a thread for this but how are you able to delete these ringtones when you no longer want them? The program its self works fine for making ringtones but I cannot find anyway to delete them. I even looked in Astro. If someone doesnt mind could they please lend some advice on this. I've searched in the forums and I havnt found a solution to it.

Jul 5, 2010Everytime I "sync" or "load" more music from my computer to my EVO, the stupid custom ringtones I have for individual contacts reset, and I have to manually go in and change the ringtones for individual numbers. This has happened roughly 8 times so far. I've created the ringtones using RingDroid, and they are "on" the phone and available, they just won't stay on the contact I designate them for after plugging the phone into the computer.

Oct 23, 2008So you want some cool ringtones but the music you listen to isn't supported by Tmobile website... or the I'm too cheap to pay 1$ for a ringtone because I blew 200$ on my phone.
Step 1. Get Audacity. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Step 2. Find a file named Lame_enc.dll This is the mp3 encoder needed for audacity to export files as mp3 files.
Step 3. Find something worth making a ringtone out of. Audacity has an excellent ability to record anything you can hear through your speakers. I instead just loaded the program. then open the mp3 file I wanted to use.
In this case I choose a file I recorded while I listened to it for the sole purpose of turning it into a ringtone. takes a sec to import it. Then Play the song to ensure it is what you want. Also note the time marks for when you want the ringtone to start and when you want it to end.

Takes no ROOT, just install the SDK and a small amount of knowledge on how to use the ADB tool. Here is a video of it on my EVO.

It seems to work whether I put bootanimation.zip in /data/local or /system/media no problem... but the one thing I can't figure out is how to get a sound to play. I've tried every combination I can think of... boot.mp3 in the zip file, android_audio.mp3 in the zip file... tried the zip without the mp3, just placing the mp3 in the same directory as the zip (and also tried both names that way, in both directories stated above). Is there something I'm supposed to add to the desc.txt file? What am I missing? The only info I can find for the Eris is just "put a boot.mp3 in the zip file" which is just not working...

The one I want should be simple (I think)for a person who knows what they are doing. All I want is the stock boot animation droid word highlighted in neon green like a lot of blue ones I see where it splashes blue with highlights and the red eye turned the same neon green with my name highlighted neon green like the word droid but name will be above the eye. If it was a little short it would be great. If I go into the boot animation.zip there are two files. One is a file that just has a few numbers in it the other is a bunch of pictures. Does that number file determine the speed it displays those pictures?
