Since the 2.2 update if I leave Wifi enabled and leave the connection area, 3G does not turn back on and I'm left with no data connection at all. Only way I can fix it is to restart the phone.

So Im writing an application to communicate to a Wi-Fi enabled Arduino board with a static IP...
This is what Im trying to do...
1.) Enter Ip and Host
2.) Connect
3.) Simply send either a "0" or "1" to the arduino board
There are two activities at the moment, one to enter the IP and port of the Board (which is set from the board itself) and one to send data to the board. When i comment out the connection methods in the Communicator class the app swithches activities without any issues, but when i un-comment them and attempt to connect, the app immediately closes after i attempt to connect.

Also, im not even seeing the "Connection Failed" message, the app is just shutting down,.

Situation: On airplane with in flight wireless. Want to allow wireless, but disallow cellular, including 2g/3g data.
Several posts have "confirmed" that the Incredible has WiFi N. Maybe it is capable of WiFi N, but N is certainly not enabled. See attached picture of Airport Utility at my house, which is a WiFi N router. You can see that one device is connected at 802.11a/n with a rate of 270 mpbs. You can see that another device is connected at 802.11b/g with a rate of 54 mpbs. That device is my HTC Incredible. I've tried it with two different WiFi N networks, and the incredible never connects at anything other than WiFi G, and it never has a rate higher than 54 mbps. Does anybody still care to argue that the Incredible has WiFi N enabled? Has anybody else experienced anything different?
View 49 Replies View Relatedi just picked up a unlocked a moto cliq.. my concern is that i have never had a data plan on my account (at&t). this phone seems to have alot of different apps and widgets updating themselfs continuosly.. i have no problem with while im at home beacuse of my wifi that i can connect to.. but when im not on a wifi connection it seems to still be updating.. which i dont want until i upgrade my plan to unlimited data.. How do i turn off these features or turn off data/ internet acess all together when im not on a wifi connection?

When watching live streaming content using NFL Mobile app over my wifi connection(which is Cox Cable), the feed loses its connection after exactly five minutes of streaming. At the five minute mark, the feed will freeze and the V-Cast loading icon will appear spinning, then an error message will appear saying that NFL Mobile could not establish a connection. Back out at any point during this and hit the button to play live content, live content will work again flawlessly for exactly five minutes. Then the feed will freeze, etc...There are no problems with live streaming content when I am using 3G. I have tried using several different routers at different settings and the problem occurs the same with all of them, and I have no problems with streaming content over wifi other than NFL Mobile. This problem also never occurred with the versions of NFL Mobile prior to the current 2.0 version. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? The app streams much better over wifi, but that's not worth having to restart it every five minutes. A big reason of mine for being with Verizon is the NFL Mobile app so if anyone knows anything please let me know.

Is there any app that will turn Bluetooth on and off when I arrive/leave my house?
I did a search and cant seem to find if someone else has this problem. I use either radio time or iheartradio to stream radio stations and I have drop outs all the time. If I am on 3g it does this as well as Wifi. I would think wifi would be solid but I have tried a couple different interent connections just to make sure it wasnt the connection. This drives me crazy because there is no reason I should be able to stream a 48k stream on a good 3g connection for a wifi connection.
Is there any tweaks I need to do? Am I doing something wrong?
I am using locale but I can't figure out how to make the bluetooth turn on when I leave home. I have a "home" situation which turns it off with my home address as the situation. Any suggestions?

Will it be actively searching for a WiFi signal when I am out of range of my home network and drain more battery? I have the Network notification unchecked in the WiFi settings if that helps at all. I hit dialer to get back but it just shows the dialer and none of those options. I have to wait for the other person to hang up first to even end the call. So far this is happens to me with dialer one,stock dialer and takephone.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI can attest to the fact that this works. It even brings the little red x's back. Looks like new. I just tried it on my wife's LG Env3. She washed it a few months back and both stickers (on the battery and the phone) were completely red. Did the rice/oven trick and all was well, no problems whatsoever. Well lately she's been having some battery problems ,her phone has been shutting off randomly at times as if the battery is loosing connection with the phone. No corrosion issues from the wash, I honestly think this issue is unrelated. Well, it turns out that there was a problem with the Env3's battery/connection design and the Verizon rep. was happy to send her out a replacement phone right away. Say I'm typing a text message and a call comes in or I go to another app or screen for some reason,(didnt send text) then come back to the messaging app the test I was typing(but didnt finish and send) is gone and I have to retype it.
Is there a setting so it doesn't delete it?
The Pre was nice because it would keep the typed unsent test till it was deleted or sent.
I think i turned it off accidentally, when i unlock my phone, i don't get any of the sun animations or raining animation or clouds, ect... how do i turn this back on?

When turning it off, it would alert you it would be turning back on at your alarm time to wake you and would do exactly that. Stock app doesn't do that. I've searched and gone through market apps descriptions looking for this function. At the least I want the alarm to go off when the phones turned off. I don't need it to notify me when its turning on, when its shutting down.

I just can't figure this out. All I need to do is be able to make calls to other cells and landline phones over my wifi connection using my incredible ( i don't get cell service at home). No international calls. I have sip set up and fring. I can dial out on my dinc and i will hear ringing but but that is it. No one picks up. I have called my home phone and it doesn't ring.
