I have a Phone contact that is linked to both a Google and Facebook account and both those have pictures for the contact. The phone has defaulted to using the Facebook picture but I want to choose the Google picture. How can I do this?

I have both gmail and facebook synced to my phone and have chosen to only sync fbook contacts that are already in my gmail. Problem is the picture selection seems to be completely random. Some contact pictures are from gmail, some contact pictures are from fbook and some are from gmail when I first setup the phone and never changed. Is there an easy way to help the phone 'decide' which photo to go with?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI realize that the Incredible will bring in your Gmail contacts during phone setup so I have all of them currently organized in Gmail as Last Name First Name in the single Name field as Gmail currently doesn't have two separate fields for first and last name. Does the phone itself have fields for first and last name and if so does it make more sense to reorganize my Gmail contacts so the phone can recognize what is the first name and what is the last name?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a smartphone running Jelly Bean. As I like the gmail contact photos very much, I was happy that one new feature of Jelly Bean is the fact that the contact photos are synced with Google servers in hi-res (720x720). I spent a good deal of time replacing the awful downsized pictures with new hi-res pictures. They sync in 720px, everything fine, so far.
Where my problem begins: Within the next days I expect the arrival of my new tablet. It's a low budget one (Arnova 10b G3) which runs Ice Cream Sandwich and which maybe won't ever get a Jelly Bean firmware.
I'm in a conflict now: On the one hand, I'd like to use the tablet with my Google account and not create a dummy account or something like that. This would spoil much of the usability of the account. On the other hand, I don't want to destroy my hi-res contact pics because one Google sync under ICS would downsize them forever and I guess they would again sync downsized to my Jelly Bean phone.
Is there maybe a hack that prevents Google from syncing the contact pictures? In this case, I could use the Google account on the ICS tablet just without contact pics. The downsized pics are rubbish anyways if one's display has a proper resolution.
Or, can one prevent Google from syncing the contacts after setting up the account? I know that the contact sync can be unchecked in the settings but as far as I know, that doesn't prevent the initial sync.
When I first got the phone I had it sync my contacts with facebook. However as time has passed my facebook contacts have changed their profile pics but my incredible still has the same pic on the phone profile from the first time I set up the phone. How do I get it so my contacts on the phone have the current facebook pic?

I have my original gmail account "slaved" to my google apps account, so when I log in to user@gmail.com it displays my google apps user@domain.com as being logged in. For most things this is great, but now with the android phone there are some gotchya's First was the Market. I had to create yet another gmail account to buy anything off the market, because when I sign in to my 'gmail' account on my phone it signs me in as an apps user.
Second, is my google voice (attached to gmail) has its own set of contacts associated with my gmail account, and they are not synced with my google apps account. I was hoping the phone would sort of mesh them together, however I'm not seeing that. On my iPhone I was using soocial, however they recently stopped allowing unlimited contacts and their new free limit is below my number of contacts. Is there a way for the phone to keep these to contact lists "connected" and synced together?
Is there a dialer that will let me choose which number to ring from a contact directly (long press ?) ?

I was wondering if the X10 can do the same as my last android Hero, which basically link the facebook info contact to my related phone contact, including the picture. I guess this wont need any hardware, but software. Has this improvement being asked or is it planned for future updates?

When I created these links, the profile picture (in the phone) changed to their facebook photo. I knew how to change it back to the photo in Google, and did so for each contact. However, every time my facebook friends post anything, the profile picture in my phone changes back to the facebook photo. Is there any way to stop this annoying behavior?

View 11 Replies View RelatedEverything seems to be working fine except - no Picasa. I set up the phone with my Google account and calendar, mail, contacts are all synced fine. However, no Picasa albums in Photos section. Went to Account setup, clicked on Google account, no Picasa there either. On my wife's Droid (OS v2.1 also) Picasa is listed under Google account options. Is this an Incredible bug or am I missing something?
View 43 Replies View RelatedSo back when I first got my phone I was putting in contacts the dumb way selecting "phone contact" rather than putting them in under my google account. I also have a bunch of contacts recovered from backup assistant. Since I am constantly flashing new roms it has come to my attention that there isn't always Verizon Back up Assistant support on them. Take for example CM6-RC3, I love the rom, totally and completely....except when I try and run Back Up, it says it isn't compatible with the program and recommends uninstall. So my specific inquiry to all the great rooted Dinc users out there is, is there an easy way to turn all those annoying "phone"/old non google contacts into google contacts without doing each one individually on my computer/phone?

I opened a new gmail account for her, then activated her phone on my number. I tried to sync her Eris with google, with the idea that she could sync with her Incredible. When you go under Settings>Sync...> it has the four Gmail accounts, with only one giving you the option to sync calendar. I want to sync the calendar of one of the others, not that one, and I can't figure out how to switch it. Also, the account is showing up as my Google log in for Maps. I've found an option to make the Gmail portion your default but no overall Google default.

I have a Google Apps Premier account (paid version) that allows me to use my company email address through google servers. Since my login for this account is not a gmail address with the phone recognize it for setup purposes? I do have a standard gmail account as well but all of my mail goes thorugh the apps service. Personally I would rather it did not do this, for whatever reason. View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to list the 'Display name' of all the contacts belonging to a single account.I am planning to use a cursor adapter for populating the list and hence would require the corresponding fields (Display name, Account info) to be fetched in a single content provider querry.Looking at the Contacts Database Structure a single table amoung Raw Contacts, Contacts and Data wont be able to provide these two parameters and hence a join is necessary.As far as i know join wont be possible to fetch the data from the content provider.
