I searched and didn't find a good solid answer.I want to change my Google account password.I can do that online easily enough, but what will happen with my phone account? In my search I found someone who said it would just prompt for the new password and someone else that said it would factory reset my phone.So, has anyone here actually done this and what happened?

I have multiple Gmail accounts on my Incredible and I want to switch my original default to one of the other ones. When you go under Settings>Sync...> it has the four Gmail accounts, with only one giving you the option to sync calendar. I want to sync the calendar of one of the others, not that one, and I can't figure out how to switch it. Also, the account is showing up as my Google log in for Maps. I've found an option to make the Gmail portion your default but no overall Google default.

i try changing the password with the chrome browser on android. didnt work. i went into account that didnt work.
I got my HTC Desire a few days ago, and as I needed a Google account for the Market I rememberd one I had created/palyed around with some months ago. The credentials were stored in my KeePass file, but the password was like 20 random letters and numbers. So I changed it to something typeable and entered it in my phone. Needles to say I forgot to change it in keepass and now I can't remember it.
Is there any practicable way to show the password stored in my device?
I can login to Gmail.com on any desktop/mobile browser however whenever I try to add a Google Account on my phone, I get this error: Your username and password do not match. (To recover your account information, go to URL.... on your computer.)"
I have tried changing the password but its still the same. I know its not a password issue as I can login to google.com on my desktop and laptop.I also went to this site and tried to add a Google account but it did not work. Tried setting up a different Google ID and it worked right away. So it looks like there has to be some issue with my Google ID.
how it happened as it was working fine until I reset my phone.
I have recently wasted all of my time on my tablet. I have stop using my tablet since new years eve due to my forgotten google account password. I have to hard resetting it but my Tablet does not have volume buttons on the outside only on the touch screen.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have read the threads that come with putting in the title above, but I have a special question.Does anyone know of a procedure that I can go through to not only change my primary Google account on my DROID but also have it transfer bought app info from the old account to the new account?I have bought well over $10 worth of apps, an I would like them associated with the account through my domain as opposed to my current account (just a regular GMail address).Any ideas here? Or is what I remember reading in the past still true - bought apps are locked to one account and cannot be changed?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've got a new phone, and both it and my old one show up on Google Play, with the tabs showing the respective apps installed.The old one is rooted, and I want to let my son use it on his own GMail ID. I've no problem resetting it or loading a completely new ROM.
Is there a proper procedure for dissociating it from my GMail ID and adding it to his. I have a suspicion that if I just change the associated email address in the Google Play settings on the phone, it will still appear on my list of devices.
I want to change my google account for some reason, but all my paid app was registered under my current account, so is it possible to transfer all to my new account without paying it again?

I have entered the password/PIN I use to unlock the phone. No good. I have entered the password I use to access the Exchange server. No good.
I have no freaking idea what password the phone is asking me for. Right now it seems my only option is maser reset of the phone, re-install everything...
So i can log into my youtube account just fine on the youtube app.but then i keep getting an alert at top of incredible, saying couldn't log in to youtube account. when i go to my accounts/sync.there is an error message there (despite the fact that im logged onto youtube app!).says "incorrect password"wtheck? i remember having similar issue w/ my moto droid, and i just made NEW youtube account and it worked.am i missing something? do i have to log on differently on the account/sync area w/ a gmail domain?

Twice.
The first time I did it directly on the site and followed the instructions.....THEN I went to the phone and actually changed it in the Voicemail provider settings (there is a spot for it)
When called it still made me put in my voicemail #.
So I started the process over again.
This time I set up my verizon voice mail with the phone number and the ",****" for the pause and the password. Then i told it to use google voicemail.
Then I went into google voicemail and set up the phone again.
And....
Voila....it automatically puts in my password for me now. Although on the phone it doesn't show that its there at all.
There doesn't seem to be a reason to switch the setting on the phone as the voicemail indicator in "messages" doesn't change.....and also It doesn't seem to be able to set up the true visual voicemail through it.
You have to use the Google Voice app to get them and just search through your mails. (If anyone has a way around that one I'd be grateful - for both the message indicator and the visual voicemail)
When I bought the incredible, the Verizon sales rep told me I could use my gmail password to lock/unlock the phone. I haven't been able to find this option anywhere, though. Is it possible to do that?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have my original gmail account "slaved" to my google apps account, so when I log in to user@gmail.com it displays my google apps user@domain.com as being logged in. For most things this is great, but now with the android phone there are some gotchya's First was the Market. I had to create yet another gmail account to buy anything off the market, because when I sign in to my 'gmail' account on my phone it signs me in as an apps user.
Second, is my google voice (attached to gmail) has its own set of contacts associated with my gmail account, and they are not synced with my google apps account. I was hoping the phone would sort of mesh them together, however I'm not seeing that. On my iPhone I was using soocial, however they recently stopped allowing unlimited contacts and their new free limit is below my number of contacts. Is there a way for the phone to keep these to contact lists "connected" and synced together?
Just got the incredible from another member and it was fresh off a factory reset and i tried to add my google account it it just keeps telling me it cant establish a reliable data connection. i tried it on both 3g and wifi same results what do i do now its basically unusable at this point?

View 11 Replies View RelatedEverything seems to be working fine except - no Picasa. I set up the phone with my Google account and calendar, mail, contacts are all synced fine. However, no Picasa albums in Photos section. Went to Account setup, clicked on Google account, no Picasa there either. On my wife's Droid (OS v2.1 also) Picasa is listed under Google account options. Is this an Incredible bug or am I missing something?

I also have a bunch of contacts recovered from backup assistant. Since I am constantly flashing new roms it has come to my attention that there isn't always Verizon Back up Assistant support on them. Take for example CM6-RC3, I love the rom, totally and completely....except when I try and run Back Up, it says it isn't compatible with the program and recommends uninstall. So my specific inquiry to all the great rooted Dinc users out there is, is there an easy way to turn all those annoying "phone"/old non google contacts into google contacts without doing each one individually on my computer/phone?

I opened a new gmail account for her, then activated her phone on my number. I tried to sync her Eris with google, with the idea that she could sync with her Incredible. Personally I would rather it did not do this, for whatever reason. View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my Captivate synced to my work and school exchange server for about two months now. This morning, I had to change my work exchange password. However, on my phone....when I into Account Settings>Incoming Settings and try to change the password. I get "Two exchange accounts allowed". It seems it thinks I'm trying to setup a third account rather than change the password to the existing account.
How do I change the password? (I've thought about deleting the account....but my fear is that it will create another instance of calendar and contacts. which happened once before, also annoying...if anyone knows how to get rid of the old duplicated calendars.)
If I wanted to change the password for the account synced with the Droid, what would I have to do to make that work?
Also, what would happen if I just changed it from the web interface?
For some reason after I changed my gmail password it keeps saying "Sync is currently experiencing problems, it will be back shortly." I tried logging into the gmail app but it keeps saying invalid username/pass. Won't even let me log in to facebook either. Running 2.1 (not rooted)

I need to either remove/reset the password so i can change it or have something to change the password.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI realize that the Incredible will bring in your Gmail contacts during phone setup so I have all of them currently organized in Gmail as Last Name First Name in the single Name field as Gmail currently doesn't have two separate fields for first and last name. Does the phone itself have fields for first and last name and if so does it make more sense to reorganize my Gmail contacts so the phone can recognize what is the first name and what is the last name?
