View 3 RepliesI am working on an app that connects to a media providing site and downloads mp3 files to the user phone. I would like for the user to be unable to copy these files off the phone but only listen to them through my app. I am currently trying to encrypt the files using DES and encryption and decrypt and play the file in bits in the app. This is however not working. Is there a better way of achieving my end goal or has anyone else implemented a similar solution?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm making an Android App, and i need to put a control that let user choose between 4 different colors. I want to do this with something like radio buttons: the problem is that radiobuttons are round...
is there a way to set them looks like square/rect buttons, and assign a color to their inside rect area ?
If not, how can i achieve that choose for the user ?
I need this because i'm making a Todo/Task android application, and i need the user to choose the priority of a task, between for priority level that are rapresented with a color. So i think to do that by showing 4 buttons, each with a different color associated, and a text inside ("0", "1", "2", "3")
I've been working on an application lately that is using GMaps to display a location that is stored in the devices database. However when no location is available (no GPS signal is available) the user can go through an edit wizard and at a certain point he can add a location himself. I already have to code to display the stored location, but is it possible to write something so the user get's to see a map and when he clicks/touches on a certain area a map pointer appears and the location is stored. Is that possible in any way? Is there any good online documentation available? I searched through this group and on Google but couldn't find anything usefull.

For example, user selects his default home apk and I want him to reconsider his choice once again. I know how to do that on 2.1 and before, but is there a way to do that now on 2.2? Famous Home Switcher, which did similar thing, does not work on 2.2 anymore thanks to google team.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have both gmail and facebook synced to my phone and have chosen to only sync fbook contacts that are already in my gmail. Problem is the picture selection seems to be completely random. Some contact pictures are from gmail, some contact pictures are from fbook and some are from gmail when I first setup the phone and never changed. Is there an easy way to help the phone 'decide' which photo to go with?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been assigned the task to use an android tablet to run a single app in an enterprise setting. Ideally, when one switches on the tablet this app should be loaded perhaps during startup and the user need not step out of this app. The app logic itself is rather easy but I am wondering if it is at all possible to load a single app during load and not allowing the user to step out of it.

I'm looking for a way to allow a user to press a button to browse the contents of the SD card, and then select a folder, whose path will be returned to the application. Similar to how you pull up the "Browse..." dialog on Windows for installations.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying for my app to create a picture this way... It works fine, except when doing this, the picture is written in the "Camera" folder (/sdcard/dcim/Camera). Since the picture was not taken with the camera, this is not desirable. Is there any way to put it directly in dcim?

View 2 Replies View RelatedOk, I hate iphones, and apple products. But a few of my friends have iphones. One friend in particular has an iphone, and we send pictures sometimes.
The problems is, every time he does, it comes in a slide show. One picture gets sent, and it takes about 5 seconds before I can see it, as it's showing a black slide, and then the picture shows.
It's a real small slideshow picture, and I've got no way to download it even. It's real annoying! He kinda laughs and sometimes will just email it to me, like the way that iphone users had to send pictures before they got the ability to send mms messages.
How hard can this be? Is it something he is not doing right, or is it just some stupid way that iphones send mms messages to where only iphone users can properly use the photos?

I updated to Froyo recently on my HTC Desire and noticed that the preview picture on my gallery folders changed. Is there an easy way to change the preview picture of the folder? It seems to be using the first picture in the folder. I tried deleting the folder and recreating it from my computer but didn't work. The first picture in the folder also doesn't seem to be related to the alphabetical order, or date order so not sure why it's even picking that picture as the first one.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI just got my new Droid phone 2 days ago. Great phone! But I have many things to learn. I have a question about the saved pictures. Why is it that when I open my photo gallery there are more than just the "all photos" folder. Seems when I take a picture, or save one off the Internet or transfer the pics off my old phone, that it makes a new folder for each different set of pics and puts all the pics in the "all pictures"folder. Is there any way I can just have the "all pictures" folder as the only one?

I have downloaded a picture attachment from my Gmail that is an 'unwanted picture' which I opened when I went to Gallery/Download folder. It is currently the default preview picture now for the Download folder. I've already deleted this picture from the Download folder, but anytime I download a new picture attachment, it still uses the 'unwanted' pic as the folder preview.I've even tried manually deleting the Download folder using AstroFile Manager.Everything I've tried doesn't seem to work.I desperately need help because currently I'm not able to download any picture from my Gmail account without that stupid picture showing up as the preview for the Download folder.
