Just got the incredible from another member and it was fresh off a factory reset and i tried to add my google account it it just keeps telling me it cant establish a reliable data connection. i tried it on both 3g and wifi same results what do i do now its basically unusable at this point?

I have my original gmail account "slaved" to my google apps account, so when I log in to user@gmail.com it displays my google apps user@domain.com as being logged in. For most things this is great, but now with the android phone there are some gotchya's First was the Market. I had to create yet another gmail account to buy anything off the market, because when I sign in to my 'gmail' account on my phone it signs me in as an apps user.
Second, is my google voice (attached to gmail) has its own set of contacts associated with my gmail account, and they are not synced with my google apps account. I was hoping the phone would sort of mesh them together, however I'm not seeing that. On my iPhone I was using soocial, however they recently stopped allowing unlimited contacts and their new free limit is below my number of contacts. Is there a way for the phone to keep these to contact lists "connected" and synced together?
I just received by HTC Inc and just learning to use it. Can someone recommend a good calendar app other than the calendar I have in my Google account?
View 11 Replies View RelatedEverything seems to be working fine except - no Picasa. I set up the phone with my Google account and calendar, mail, contacts are all synced fine. However, no Picasa albums in Photos section. Went to Account setup, clicked on Google account, no Picasa there either. On my wife's Droid (OS v2.1 also) Picasa is listed under Google account options. Is this an Incredible bug or am I missing something?
View 43 Replies View RelatedSo back when I first got my phone I was putting in contacts the dumb way selecting "phone contact" rather than putting them in under my google account. I also have a bunch of contacts recovered from backup assistant. Since I am constantly flashing new roms it has come to my attention that there isn't always Verizon Back up Assistant support on them. Take for example CM6-RC3, I love the rom, totally and completely....except when I try and run Back Up, it says it isn't compatible with the program and recommends uninstall. So my specific inquiry to all the great rooted Dinc users out there is, is there an easy way to turn all those annoying "phone"/old non google contacts into google contacts without doing each one individually on my computer/phone?

I opened a new gmail account for her, then activated her phone on my number. I tried to sync her Eris with google, with the idea that she could sync with her Incredible. Unfortunately, the contacts won't sync.

When you go under Settings>Sync...> it has the four Gmail accounts, with only one giving you the option to sync calendar. I want to sync the calendar of one of the others, not that one, and I can't figure out how to switch it. Also, the account is showing up as my Google log in for Maps. I've found an option to make the Gmail portion your default but no overall Google default.

I have a Google Apps Premier account (paid version) that allows me to use my company email address through google servers. Since my login for this account is not a gmail address with the phone recognize it for setup purposes? I do have a standard gmail account as well but all of my mail goes thorugh the apps service. Has anyone tried it with a google apps login?

Personally I would rather it did not do this, for whatever reason. I know there are only a few Incredibles out there, but I thought the sync would be similar to the Droid or other Android phones people currently have.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI realize that the Incredible will bring in your Gmail contacts during phone setup so I have all of them currently organized in Gmail as Last Name First Name in the single Name field as Gmail currently doesn't have two separate fields for first and last name. Does the phone itself have fields for first and last name and if so does it make more sense to reorganize my Gmail contacts so the phone can recognize what is the first name and what is the last name?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my phone yesterday, and the verizon rep insisted he needed to setup a new google account on the phone. I didn't feel like arguing since I already have one so I let him do it. Once I got home, I setup my account and sync'd all of my email and contacts, but I cannot delete the original account he setup off the phone. I also cannot sync my calendar through my account. The phone is only wanting to sync the calendar with the account he set up. Can someone offer advice on how to delete the account he setup? BTW, I have gone in and tried to delete the account, but the phone tells me applications need this account and in order to delete it, I will have to reset the phone to all defaults and all information will be lost.

Go to the GMail app, select add account, fill in the metrics and then...... "Needs to communicate" message for ~ 3 minutes, then bombs out with - "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". 3G is fine, on a wifi connection that is fine, web browser works fine..... View 3 Replies View RelatedI have two gmail accounts, each with their own Google Voice account. Account 1 is my primary account, and I have even ported my phone number to this account. I'm using this account on my phone (nexus 5), and have 0 issues with this account. All texts, voicemails, etc come through with no issues. Account 2 is largely not used. I would like to use account 2 on my nexus 7, for texts, and maybe making calls if I don't want to give out my real number to someone.
My issue is when I'm logged in to account 2 on my nexus 7, I'm getting text notifications for account 1 on my nexus 7. But if I were to open Google Voice on the nexus 7, once GV refreshes, the texts disappear. It doesn't happen the other way around. If I get a text/vm to account 2, it does not notify my phone, which is logged in to account 1.
I've checked the settings in both GV accounts, and neither account is linked to the other, or to send copies of texts/vm notifications to the other. How do I stop notifications from GV account 1 to stop displaying on account 2? I have cleared cache, data, uninstalled the app. The only thing i have not done, is a reset of the nexus 7.
I was initially logged in to account 1 on my nexus 7, but I would have thought removing the app from the device would have essentially erased all traces of the account 1 on the nexus 7. I even signed out of hangouts, to make sure Google was not treating this like my phone, and sending it both places.
Is it possible to use a google account for features such as google contacts and latitude? I know this is not possible for Android market, but would it be possible for other google products? I saw it is possible on this Android 2.0 review: Android 2.0 Review: Almost Human Did they remove this feature from the 2.1 that Hero uses, or can't I just find it?

View 35 Replies View RelatedI use Google hosted apps with my own domain for e-mail, calendar, chat, etc. and I use the e-mail address from that with my main Google account as well. So, both my Google account and hosted apps account use the same address. I had no problem setting up my account on my phone when I got it Friday, but I've been running into a few issues. First off, every time I try to buy an app in the Market, it asks me to set up a Google account to associate it with, even though I already have. Also, when I try to use Google Listen, it asks the same thing. Is there a way around this, or will I have to create a separate Google/GMail account?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a set of "Anycom" stereo Bluetooth headphones, and when I try to connect them to my Incredible, the "pair" right away and the Inc recognizes them for what they are. The problem is all I get is a "Paired but not connected" message, under my Bluetooth settings. I hit "connect" and it does momentarily, then it goes back to that same message. I'm not getting the prompt for the "0000" pin input, which I think may be the problem as the headphones may be waiting for that to be inputted.

View 3 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my wifi no longer connects to my home network automatically. I need to go in to the wireless settings then in to the wifi settings menu itself, where I'll see my network "Not in range-remembered" for a second and then it'll connect itself. It wasn't like this a few days ago, and I don't think this happens at the 2 other wireless networks I frequent, I'll try and remember to check tomorrow when I drop off my son at the in-laws.
I deleted the network and added it back in, still no auto connect. I rebooted the phone and it connected once, then after I turned off wifi and turned it back on, it went back to needing a manual connect, which it really isn't even that. It just doesnt want to connect unless I go in to the wifi settings.
Now I wish there was a way to connect my Non-Rooted Froyo Incredible to Ad-Hoc WiFi networks, but I can't seem to find a way. Does anyone know of any ways to connect my Incredible to my Ad-Hoc WiFi networks? Because that would be the only reason I would root my incredible, but I wouldn't do it if there wasn't a solution available.
