When phone was plugged into my cpu - I placed movies on my sd card. However, when my phone is unplugged, and I am using RockPlayer for instance, I can't access the SD Card?

Is there any way to locate my downloads? See what's on my SD card? access the native .pdf reader directly? See a directory of my files? In other words, generally use Android as it comes out of the box like a normal operating system?

Like, maybe run the app on both phones, then have it show up on the maps, so we could find each other using GPS? Me and my friend go in the trails around my house a lot, and our phones are very accurate for where we are, so we're not worried about the accuracy of the GPS, as we know how it is already.

The exact fucntionality was that when a different sim card is put in the phone, it preiodically sends you 3 texts with the location of the phone by cell tower, GPS and another (WPS I think?) format. So you get a rough location and also the phone number of the person with the phone. Handy...
Anyone got an idea of what this app was called? It's not Wavesecure, Lookout (which totally failed to locate the phone or restore the backups - rubbish), Where's My Droid...

After installing 2.2, when i hook the phone up with the usb to the computer it is no longer a recognized device and says i need to install drivers...
i just reinstalled motoconnect and it still doesn't recognize it.
I had a scare today where I left my phone at the gym and thought I had lost it. Whats a good app to locate the phone remotely? (preferably works with GPS AND cell tower location, because I don't have GPS on most of the time.) It would be nice to be able to remotely lock it as well... looks like there are some options available but I'm not sure which one works. The thing with the app store is that you can't sort by reviews, its hard to tell which app is good and which one doesn't work

Anyway, they threw in a free 2GB SD card. I already bought a 8gig card. Should I return it? Will the 2gig be enough plus the phone memory? I know I'm being a little cheap but the extra cash wouldn't hurt.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOkay, so my phone has been freezing a lot lately, just locking up, going black. I couldn't find the issue, phone is rooted, tried many different roms, virtuous has been the best to me freeze wise. I wasn't even able to get through setup 99% of the time. I finally found out everything works fine when the sd card isn't in there (only 4 GB - class 2 / upgrading soon). It is formatted as FAT32. Do you think transferring all the files to my computer, reformatting it, and then putting all the files back on will fix the problem? Or have any other suggestions?

I clicked on PDF, and low and behold there is something that was downloaded to the SD card as a PDF on it. I did not download this, which means they gave me a used SD card with the replacement phone ( sketchy right?) Anyway, I want to delete the pdf, how do i do it? Unsuccessful workaround I thought I could navigate to the 8GB drive via ASTRO, and then play the avi files, but Rockplayer show as a player option!

1)Since my Dinc is rooted, will I have to copy anything to the new card after formatting it, or should my phone remain unaffected?
2) I know there is class 2, 4, and 6, with each having faster read/write speeds and being quite a bit more. Will those speeds really make much difference when being used in my phone for backups, random files, apps, and music or videos?
3) Can I copy my sd card files to my phone's internal memory and transfer them that way? Or do I need to transfer them through my computer?

View 8 Replies View RelatedJust updated to 2.2 and phone/sd card will mount to pc but then it randomly acts like it has been unplugged and plugged by in. For instance I was copying a 1gb file from the phone to the sd card and it was copying for all of 20 seconds then it was gone then it was back and wanted to know if I wanted to copy over the existing files that had been transfered before the disconnect (or whatever). It does this on both the sd card and the phone memory; anyone else have this problem? Have a solution? Oh, and this is done over the same usb cable I have been using for months without the slightest problem.

I have looked at apps like MixZing, Cubed, and DoubleTwist, but these all seem like they won't play music from both the sd card and internal phone storage like the stock player. Are there any players that will do this, and perhaps find album art like the others?
