I lost my phone last night, and I had wavesecure on it, but I haven't been able to locate it or even lock it! but I know the battery was really low. Does wavesecure not work if it's uncharged? Anyway, I'm still on contract, but no insurance. Is there any way to still somehow locate my phone using wavesecure?

I recently lost my phone, and had an app on it that texted me the location. Unfortunately I was overseas and didn't get the phone back, but it was a good little app - but for the life of me I can't remember the name of it or find it in the market.
The exact fucntionality was that when a different sim card is put in the phone, it preiodically sends you 3 texts with the location of the phone by cell tower, GPS and another (WPS I think?) format. So you get a rough location and also the phone number of the person with the phone. Handy...
Anyone got an idea of what this app was called? It's not Wavesecure, Lookout (which totally failed to locate the phone or restore the backups - rubbish), Where's My Droid...
As I say, done an extensive web and market search and can't find it anywhere..
I had a scare today where I left my phone at the gym and thought I had lost it. Whats a good app to locate the phone remotely? (preferably works with GPS AND cell tower location, because I don't have GPS on most of the time.) It would be nice to be able to remotely lock it as well... looks like there are some options available but I'm not sure which one works. The thing with the app store is that you can't sort by reviews, its hard to tell which app is good and which one doesn't work

I know people are saying the new facebook is stuck on contact syncing and draining the battery, but it cant be draining it this much. Today when I was at work is where I noticed it the most. I started at 1 and when my group took a break at 2:42 I had lost 65% battery life!

-remote locking phone
-remote wipe phone
-gps tracking
After installing 2.2, when i hook the phone up with the usb to the computer it is no longer a recognized device and says i need to install drivers...
i just reinstalled motoconnect and it still doesn't recognize it.
I turned my screen on put in my lock pattern and my phone turned off anyone know why this would happen? Couple things you should know.
1) I searched the forums and found nothing about this if there is please give me a link and a mod can close this thread.
2) I had to do a battery pull to turn it back on because it wouldn't respond to the power button.
3) I don't use a task killer.
4) This has never happened to me before.
5) The battery had 51% power left.
6) I want to know if I should be worried or its something that happens often?
7) I have had my Eris since January 06 so the 30 days deal is out the window.
I have the 2.1 leak, so I can't root....yet. I was wondering if, as root, the HTCLockScreen.apk could be removed. If it could be removed, would the stock android lock screen take over?

Does anyone have any advice on what I can do so that I still get a notification (vibrate/sound) that I have a text message or an email, but nobody can SEE those messages on my lock screen?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI currently have lost the Battery Cover to my Motorola Droid within the first two weeks of me having the phone.I have yet to take it off once, I must have gotten a lose one (Which I have read is quite a problem).I e-mailed Motorola and they linked me to purchase a new Cover for $10, plus $5 shipping (And that wouldn't even ship for another 5-6 days!).Am I entitled to a free replacement? Will Verizon (I know, "call them") replace one for me?
View 3 Replies View RelatedReceived my 2.1 OTA at 1:36 AM last night and ever since, I can't manually lock my phone by short pressing the power button anymore. I thought maybe this was a Spare Parts issue, since I had changed the Power Button behavior on 1.5 using Spare Parts (when I pressed Power from any screen, it would return me Home; pressing from Home would Lock). So, I uninstalled Spare Parts, but this didn't remedy my problem. Any advice?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyone else lost 3G? My phone is fine cause I haven't flashed a ROM in a few days. But I Rooted a friend of mines yesterday and flashed Suave Smush. Everything was fine until he called me this morning and said he had lost 3G. A little later it would not send or receive a text message. Then it kept saying he was out of his home network. We wipped it clean and did the Nand Restore and its fine now. His phone still has Android 1.5.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy question is when you root the Eris is anything lost such as data on the phone that will have to be re-installed? Or is does it wipe the phone? I would prefer not to have to re-install but I will if it is necessary. Also will I be able to receive any further OTA updates? I know that the one scheduled for tomorrow is most likely the last that this phone will see but just in case I want all of my bases covered. I would also like to take advantage of possibly putting 2.2 on it if there is not an official release so I can take advantage of the awesome features that 2.2 offers. I really don't care about loosing SenseUi because I use Launcher Pro and love it and prefer not to switch back to SenseUi. One more thing. I really want to take out certain apps that came with the phone that are only a nuisance to me such as amazonmp3, Stocks, Tweet & google talk. And of course take advantage of the apps that are available only to rooted phones.

It's nice that it monitors the battery and lets me turn on/off WiFi, GPS and BlueTooth or change my display options from one press.

My eris battery life last me a full day, but my battery drops to 85% within the first hour after my phone is removed from the charger. The battery than dies slower from that point on. I figure this may be a bad battery or bad meter. Is there a way to calibrate the battery meter?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Eris, just updated on Monday for the lock up from sleep Anyway, I am a low user of the phone and keep, wifi, Mobile data off unless I am using it I have noticed the last 2 days the battery life is improved. yesterday, phone on at 6am off at 11pm, 65% left, no data used, few Txt messages and about 45 min of phone calls Today so far, on at 6am, WIFI, Mobile data off, one 6min call and one txt, at 9am, still 100% battery. turned Mobile Data on at 9am now it is 11:50am and battery is still 100% my on time is 5:45, awake time is 8 min (2%) this is typical for me. I don't have email set to push, I refresh when I want it. I also use Advanced Task Manager. So maybe the issue that was fixed was also causing a battery drain and is fixed now?

Having trouble finding a good battery widget.
When I go to "open" the newly downloaded HTC battery widget program it comes back with "will not launch". I uninstalled it ads installed it 4x now, nothing works. Am I doing something wrong?

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Droid Eris will charge from about 20% to 100% in a matter of 1-3 hours- it's always quite fast! Last night, my phone was at 20% when I went to sleep at about 12am and when I woke up at 6am it was only at 40%. The phone felt very hot. I took it off the charger and put it in another plug. It is now 4pm and the phone is only at 80% and at times feels hot. I checked out the cord and there are no lesions or breaks or any visible problems w/ the cord. I'm not sure what's going on- any thoughts? I'm going to take it to the VZW store to obtain an understanding. It's only been 3-4 months that I obtained the phone.

View 8 Replies View RelatedIt looks about 99% certain that my Eris is gone. I'm still holding out a little hope that I'll find it around the house. I thought I was carrying it and the charger in my hand along with my work jacket yesterday morning. When I got to work, I couldn't find either in the car so I thought that maybe I forget to pick it up. Got home and couldn't find it or the charger. When I pulled the car out of my yard's parking spot (it's on grass) later in the day, I saw the charger laying there. However, I didn't see the phone. Since it would be weird for someone to have taken the phone but not the charger laying right next to it, I'm holding out a 1% chance that it's still around the house. However, I haven't been able to find it at all.Anyway, I've put it on suspension right now (the in-store rep says that I can bring any phone back on line to replace it if I get a different phone through eBay or other source). So at least I've got any opportunist locked out of the phone.Here's my question - I don't have the funds to pay $150 - 200 for a "new" Eris on eBay. So, if you were me, what would you consider to be the best cheap smartphone alternative that I can pick up for less than $100 on the open market? (preferably more like $50 <g>). I'd just get a cellphone to tide me over but since I'm having to pay for the data plan, I might as well get something with a browser.Any suggestions? Anyone have something lying around that they aren't using? Yeah, yeah, I know.
