After installing 2.2, when i hook the phone up with the usb to the computer it is no longer a recognized device and says i need to install drivers...
i just reinstalled motoconnect and it still doesn't recognize it.

Is there any way to locate my downloads? See what's on my SD card? access the native .pdf reader directly? See a directory of my files? In other words, generally use Android as it comes out of the box like a normal operating system?

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe last week or so, I've noticed that the GPS on my phone starts trying to locate where I am without a program prompting it to do anything. I had just left the gps on, so it would be ready for maps/etc. Is there a way to tell which program is accessing it? My understanding was that you could leave the gps switched on with the droid x because it would not actually use it, unless a program called for it.

I have My location enabled, I have it reading off 3G towers instead of GPS, and I have the Weatherbug locator app. Also it is tracking me in the background. Nothing. I have 'My Location' as the default, but it doesn't change.
Only time that it updates is if I enable GPS following, then it gets it perfectly. Otherwise no dice.
Anyone have this problem as well?
I lost my phone last night, and I had wavesecure on it, but I haven't been able to locate it or even lock it! but I know the battery was really low. Does wavesecure not work if it's uncharged? Anyway, I'm still on contract, but no insurance. Is there any way to still somehow locate my phone using wavesecure?

View 17 Replies View RelatedWhenever I plug my phone in, it tries to install the drivers but can't. I am running XP and yes I know it's because I have USB debugging turned on. But you kind of have to if you want to root it. I've tried turning USB debugging off, installing the drivers, and then turning it back on which failed. ADB wouldn't recognize my phone. I've tried charge only and PC mode. I'm getting irritated because I paid money for Root explorer and I'd like to be able to use it. Not to mention titanium backup.

All right guys I'm having all sorts of driver issues. At one time I've been able to take screen shots for my X, use adb, the works. Now for some reason I can't get any of it to work. I'm sure I have a driver conflict somewhere. What I want to do is wipe out all the drivers that are installed for my X and start from scratch like my X has never been plugged into my computer.

~Windows XP SP2, 32bit
~The SDK is installed and working.
~The USB drivers have been downloaded through the SDK.
~The phone is in USB Debug mode.
~The USB drivers have been installed in windows.
~Windows device manager shows that everything is working fine.
~Windows recognizes the phone when it is plugged in.
The ONLY thing that does not work is that the phone won't show up in the list of devices adb sees. Everything else appears to be setup and working just fine!
Since installing the OTA froyo update I cannot use windows media sync with my computer anymore. I am using windows XP and when i plug the phone into my laptop it comes up as a digital camera and will not show up in windows media player as a device to sync with.

The exact fucntionality was that when a different sim card is put in the phone, it preiodically sends you 3 texts with the location of the phone by cell tower, GPS and another (WPS I think?) format. So you get a rough location and also the phone number of the person with the phone. Handy...

I bought a new laptop about 2 weeks ago and I want to use my phone with my laptop. I download the drivers for the phone and they could not install and everytime I connect the phone to the computer it says the device is not recognized. The phone now can't connect and I can't see the files that are on the phone. I want to be able to put music and videos on my phone and I can't now. It works perfectly fine one my desktop which is an XP, but I wont be able to use the desktop because I will be leaving for college soon.

I have been trying to go back to the stock firmware using this guide: [URL] ..... but I have a problem. The adb drivers for my device work fine when I am in the system or in the recovery, but don't work in the bootloader. I am able to type "adb reboot bootloader" when I'm in the system/recovery and it will follow the command, but once I get into the bootloader it stops. When I type "adb devices" a line saying "List of devices attached" comes up with nothing underneath it.

I'll try to be as detailed as possible. Things to note right off the bat: - Motorola Droid 2.1 - Windows Server 2003 laptop - ADB has worked perfectly with this for ~ 8 months My work gave me a HTC Evo to do some development on. I installed the HTC drivers, ADB worked fine, did my development and now I am done with the Evo. The problem is my Droid no longer works with ADB.
