I am becoming sick of the Incredible's stock player, mainly because of its poor shuffle mode. I have looked at apps like MixZing, Cubed, and DoubleTwist, but these all seem like they won't play music from both the sd card and internal phone storage like the stock player. Are there any players that will do this, and perhaps find album art like the others?

So when I go to SD Card and Phone Storage. It lists everything all out. Under my phone memory it says Total Space: 748MB. I thought this phone had 512mb rom? Anyone else seeing this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently changed the storage location on my Incredible's camera from Phone Storage to Storage Card (i.e., my SD card). Yesterday I decided to move the previsouly taken photos "IMAG*.jpg" from the phone storage to the SD card and used the Astro app to perform this move. I made the mistake of using "move" rather than "copy-paste". Something went wrong and somehow none of the "imag*.jpg" that were previously on my phone's internal storage are neither there nor on the SD card.
Where could these files have disappeared to? Is there a "Trash" folder in Android like in Windows where these jpg files could be still hidden? Anyway to recover them? Using the search feature on Astro didn't reveal any of the newly disappeared jpg files.
Here's what I did using the Astro app:
step 1: navigated to /emmc/DCIM/100MEDIA
step 2: clicked on multi and selected all the jpg files there (about 15 or so), i.e., all file names turned orange.
step 3: clicked on Edit, selected Move.
step 4: navigated to /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA which already had a few images that I had taken since changing the default storage location in my camera.
step 5: clicked on EDIT, selected Paste.
That's when I got a message saying "unable to move" or some such error - I don't recall the exact words and I had to click ok only for the same error to appear again some 15 more times. I guess it appeared once per image.
I went back to /emmc/DCIM/100MEDIA (the phone storage location) and to /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA (SD card location) but the files aren't there in either location. Please note that I'm a noob to Android having only used Windows Mobile OS phones in the past. I appreciate any help and insight in this matter so that I don't loose files more important than some randomly taken pics.
My phone keeps telling me I'm low on space, but I cleaned out my sd card and I know I haven room. Just today my phone at the top scroll bar said I was running low on space, and that my text memory was full even though I only had very few.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been having the problem of the music player not displaying embedded album art. To fix this I tried Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Media Storage, then clicked "Clear Data"
I was told this would make the music player "rescan" for tracks and update the player. DON'T DO THIS ON THE INCREDIBLE! It caused the music player to not find anything on the internal storage.
With my Samsung Galaxy S Wifi 3.6 Media player? I already have a 32GB card in it but want to add more music.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my Incredible won't mount both the internal phone storage and the SD card storage at the same time. What I mean is...when I plug my phone into my PC I only get a single popup asking to mount the phone's SD card storage, but not the internal phone storage.If I remove the SD card (or unmount the SD card using menus on the phone) and then toggle the connection type from Disk Drive, to Charge only, and then back to Disk Drive (to burp the connection), the internal phone storage will mount, but the SD card won't mount because it has been removed.When I connect my wife's incredible, my computer sees both the SD card storage and the internal storage (as expected) and gives me prompts for both. I took the SD card from the problematic phone and put it in the "good" phone and there are no issues at all (IE.. both the internal storage and SD storage mount). This of course means there is no issue with the SD card.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo if I do a Factory Reset on the phone it still has some of the old photos/videos I took, which leads me to believe it doesn't fully clear the device of everything, just the settings that I changed are returned to their factory defaults (duh!).I was curious if I do the Clear Storage option, which means turning off the device and holding one of the volume toggles while holding the power button - would that mean that the entire Android OS would be removed, or does it mean it does a format of the phones entire partition and re-installs Android (similar to a reformat/recovery partition on a computer)? In which case I would need to reactivate the phone doing the simple *228.

It seems like this is a bug and wastes battery life.
Sorry if this is a complete NOOB question, but what is the difference between the internal storage which is 6.6GB and the phone storage, which is about 750MB? How do I access the 6.6GM of storage? What am I missing here?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a media player - to play all kind of music formats, mp3, wav, etc. Also it would be good to have a player that have a simple search through folders capability to go to navigate to phone's internal memory. The player that comes with Incredible has the capability to search through folders in the internal memory, but I don't think it plays all formats. On the other hand I see that "market" place is full of different players, but all that I downloaded only search on SD card and does not have capability to navigate to internal storage. I know one of the simplest solutions would be to put all music on SD card, but heck we have 8Gb of internal storage why not to use it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI can't get my Droid to play anything but the stock sounds for notifications. If I try a custom sound I get this crappy digital phone ring sound. I have made all my folders on the root of the card. I have tried rings extended but it still does the same thing. It shows the sound I want. It plays it in the selection screen but when it comes time for the phone to play it all I get is that stupid bell. I even used sounds that I know work as ringtones by copying them to the notifications folder, but still that ring is all I get.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFirst off, I listen to long audio files (5+ hours) on my Inc. pretty much everyday. Ever since the the 2.2 update, if I pause the audio and do something else like open the web browser or an app; once I go back to the media player and press play, it'll restart the track from the beginning. I know this is different from 2.1. I could even turn the phone off and on, and it would still hold it's place in the track. Is anyone else out there experiencing the same thing? Am I stuck with this, or am I missing an option somewhere? I tried a couple different media players, namely Mixzing, but that too loses it's place. I'd really like to keep the stock player, mainly because the lock screen controls are so nicely integrated.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUp until now I wasn't having any luck syncing my Incredible with Windows Media Player 12. I ended up renaming my folder structure and it made WMP12 see the Incredible's media. By default, the Incredible makes a folder on the internal 8GB drive called MP3. Originally I put all my music in this folder. But when it was in there, WMP12 could not see it. I ended up creating the following folder structure, and it now syncs correctly. I think the main thing is to have a folder named 'music', not 'MP3'.Now my next step is to try and figure out how to sync my home computers music from any Windows 7 / WMP12 computer. I would like to plug my Incredible into my Windows 7 computer at work, and sync my home computers media data. I read that you can stream music from your home computer this way (WMP12 feature), so I am assuming there may be a way to sync it too. I'll let you know what I find. Let me know if you find out first.

When I go to change the notification ringtone in the settings, the ringtones that I have on the SD card don't show up, only the stock ringtones show up. I have tried the main settings, Handcent SMS settings, and the defualt Messages settings. Nothing works. I have uninstalled and re-installed Handcent but that didn't help either.

View 49 Replies View RelatedI keep all of my music and podcasts (which i copy/paste manually from my computer) on the internal storage.The last 2 weeks when I copy/pasted my new podcasts over for my regular 5 hour weekend drive, the podcasts dont show up anywhere in the default media player. I have to use Astro to find the file and select it from there. What am I doing wrong/how do I fix this?

so i tried to use the camera for stills and video this weekend. the video looks great, and works fine on my phone, but i have no sound on my computer thru windows media player. I'm sure its just a codec issue, but does anyone know which codec?
photos on the other hand were really bad grainy or blurry depending on which one fast motion was horrible (but i really wasn't expecting much there) way too long a delay between button push and photo capture the kids kept moving during the delay ruining the photos.

Ever since 2.2, my browser (I use Dolphin HD) moves very slow. Slow load times, and after hitting the Menu button it takes a few seconds for the menu to pop up. Am I the only experiencing this?
Also after the update, the stock media player (I use the HTC one) has developed a few problems. The biggest problem is that it no longer remembers where I pause my music. This problem only develops after being paused for a few minutes. After that, when I press play it restarts the song it was paused on. The other problem, which I've seen reported a few times, is that the player can lag easily and skips sometimes. I've noticed that when I play music and try to look through my music at the same time, that will also lag the music. Is there either a fix, or another music player that will remember where in the song it was paused and not be so laggy? I also need it to be able to Scrobble with my Last.fm account.
The laggy browser, the laggy music player and a general legginess seems to me like the phone is being over-taxed while doing nothing so when it's told to do anything else it lags. This was never a problem in 2.1. Also, after the 2.2 update I did a factory reset to make sure there was no lingering problems, and I have experienced all of these issues while using and while not using a task killer.
Maybe this is more of an android question, not sure, but here it goes: so the incredible has 6+ gb of onboard storage, primarily for media. if i buy a micro sdhc card (say 8 gb), will the music/video player apps see both storage devices and merge all songs/videos into 1 selection screen, or is it like a real computer/os and i have to swap folders/drives? if it's the former, will it be seemless? what happens to play lists? can i have a play list that spans on-board songs and songs stored on the card?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI rooted a few weeks back and very happy with everything apart from I keep getting low on space notification for my phone storage, when I rooted I didn't bother with partitioning my sd card as read about Mod Install Location which basically forces apps to be installed onto the sd card and didn't think I would need to install anything on my internal storage but it seems I keep getting low storage notification. So I am assuming some of the apps I install have to use a little bit of the internal memory? I used Cache Mate and checked all the apps etc. So considering doing the partitioning to trick my phone to think it has more space but wondering will I lose everything or have to back it up? Or any other tips to free up internal space as it seems ROM I am using (neophyte 1.6) didn't free up much space.
