I just noticed i have some blue stains, probably from my jeans on the back of my white hero. Water with washing up liquid does not seem to help so im thinking of using a bit of alcohol but im worried i might take off more than just the stain!
Im definitely going to get one of those silicone covers now..
I have a new HTC Hero (running new firmware) and all is fine except for one query regarding the trackball sensitivity.Basically it seems way-too sensitive for me, I find that the slightest touch moves it. For example it's very easy to over-shoot scrolling down a web page with multiple links and select the wrong one.I don't know if this is a feature or a fault since I have no other Hero to compare it with. (May be I have fat fingers!)Also I few (rare) times either the trackball has "moved itself" or something else weird has happend because I've seen the centre homescreen move on its own to the right... Which again makes me wonder whether there an issue with the trackball.

View 2 Replies View RelatedTwo things I think my Hero could do without7 Home Screens - I really don't need all that real estate on my phone. I think 3 or maybe 5 at the most would have been plenty. I feel compelled to fill each screen with all the really cool widgets but I presume this will have some performance cost on my phone. I know I could use a different Home app, but I'm trying to use Stock applications wherever possible to reduce app clutter.Trackball - I hardly ever use it, apart from maybe some precision clicking on links in the browser. Does anybody else use the trackball extensively.Maybe I'm missing a trick here.
I just sent an email and without thinking about it used the Trackball to navigate the cursor around my message... Looks like the Trackball might actually be quite useful after all.
Is there a way to delete or disable htc sense? I want to see the android launcher... I'm on 2.1 official rooted.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a question about handcent sms application. Whenever I get sms via standard message program, my trackball lights up. However, when I'm using handcent sms notification, it would not light up. I have turned the trackball light on in the settings, but it does not work. Does anyone else have this problem?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI've had my hero for several weeks now, and i've barely used the trackball at all; once or twice for fine tuning the cursor position (functionality that could easily be replicated by a couple of cursor softkeys) and when using the camera (which is only because they *make* you use the trackball).
I wouldn't be surprised if we start to see android phones released in the near future without the trackball.
I wouldn't mind, but i searched the app store and i couldn't find a marble madness clone anywhere! Does anyone use the thing on a regular basis or find it indispensable in any other way? Any good apps or games that make use of it?
While I'm at it - i dont think i've EVER pressed the call button (furthest one on the left), always use the touchscreen instead. I just pressed it now for the first time to see what it would do, and accidentally dialed somebody, they just called me back to see what i wanted, because all they could hear was the clacking of keys as i typed this post.
Is there anyway to get a glowing trackball for notifications like the N1?? That would be kinda cool.

So I've tried to do a search on this, but I've only been able to find either threads from 2009 way before the 2.1 update, or threads that did not completely answer my question.

I want my hero to do something. Can the trackball light up or anything with notifications?
Can I change the LED colors? the pattern? Something!? I know that i can flip it over to silence it.
I just got my Hero a few days ago, previously I had an Instinct. So far I love the Hero, but one of my few complaints about it is having to take pictures by pressing the trackball. The trackball just feels odd to press and most of the time I have to press it multiple times for it to take a photo. Anyone have any solutions to this? I doubt there is a way to change this in the settings, but is there an app or something that uses a more convenient button for photos?
View 11 Replies View RelatedIf it is possible to change the trackball light colour, i read about a guy who swears he had blue the first time he turned his hero on, and after resetting it went back to white,im sure its only white we will be able to achieve.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got my new HTC Hero and I'm still getting to know it at the moment... However I do have a little frustration with it. The trackball will light up and everything when I get a missed call or email or sms etc. and it will keep it up only for some 10 minutes. Any idea how or if it can be set up to light up indefinitely (that is, until i clear the notifications)?
