HTC Droid Eris :: Market Fix Changed My Market Icon Back To Original
Apr 29, 2010I had an edited png for the market icon in the vending apk but when I applied my edited png's to Ivans rom with the market fix it seems to have changed the icon back to the original market Icon. When I first loaded the rom it showed my edited png for the market icon but after my first reboot it seems to change the icon back to the original. I assume that the market is updating upon reboot so I pulled the vending apk off my phone and my edited png's are still there but its still showing the original market icon. Anybody else with an edited market icon notice this or any ideas of why its going back to original? I have tried this a couple times and it always updates after first reboot...

Android :: Apps Built With 1.5 Get A Black-backgound Icon In The Market
May 1, 2009We've rebuilt a couple of our apps with the 1.5 SDK (but targeting 1.1).
The Market seems to have a bit of trouble with the background of the icons. They appear correctly (with transparent backgrounds) on the desktop, and they appear correctly when the app is downloaded from the Market and installed on the device.
However, they appear on black (not transparent) backgrounds in the Market uploader web page, and in the Market application on the device.
It looks to me as though the Market has a problem when it extracts the icon from the .apk at upload time, with .apks built by the 1.5 SDK.
Android :: New High Resolution Icon Field In The Market Console
Nov 17, 2010I have noticed that there's a new high-res icon field in the market console. Does anyone know what that's for? I have tested this new field, and I can tell for sure that it was ignored when rendering the android market icon. Maybe that it will get used after a market upgrade... Furthermore, I have had problems with the market icon. After various tests, I have realized that it is always the mdpi icon, scaled to some random size (51px, etc..), even if there's a hdpi icon, and whatever device I used. But I see some icons which seem to be pixel-sharp. Is this just an illusion or is there a trick?

Android :: Uploading Apps To Market Invalid Icon Image Size
Mar 5, 2010I'm trying to upload my first application, but when I select the apk file, I get the following message:
The icon for your application is not valid. Please use a 48x48 PNG.
The file was created in Fireworks, and is a 48x48 24 bit image named appicon.png.
Anyone know of any reason why I would still get this message?

I tried googling and they said that I might need to change the region of my phone. How do I do that? Also, I can send pictures via bluetooth but I cannot receive any files nor pictures from them. They can detect the name of my phone but they are unable to establish connection to my phone.

This "7c02815a-e245-102d-a194-6ec07c99d928.apk" file for bluetooth file transfer and using data cable. I copied that file in my video folder (for self knowing folder I pasted) now I don't see that file in my mobile video folder. So how will I install? There are no icons like "Android Market", "Installer Application", or "Application Installer" etc. I am using Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro and 1.6 firmware.

Jun 30, 2010i have the widget set up to where it is a scroll box of all my friends and stuff but on one of my friends, it has an icon on the bottom right hand corner of her pic and i dont like it. i always clicked on her name instead of the pic but is there a way to get rid of the icon? i tried removing the widget and replacing and it is still there. i hit menu and hit widget action but all it gives me is send message, view contact, etc and i dont want it to do any of that becuase the little icon ruins the pic.

I installed a few apps I used before and love Hancent SMS. With the Moment when I opened the on screen keyboard there was an icon on the keyboard for TTS, on the Hero I dont see that. May 2, 2010I have a weird icon on my HTC Hero that I have never seen before. Above the bars there is a triangle. The Hero manual does not address this icon. It seems to be completely undocumented. Although the manual says that an "R" in this area means your phone is in "roam mode", I believe my phone uses a triangle instead. In any case, my phone says that it is in digital roam mode. I have no idea why it seems to be stuck in this mode. I have rebooted it several times and, each time, it always goes into digital roam mode.

Feb 12, 2010Ive only had my Hero for a week, however I've noticed that when I update an app, the icon is duplicated when I go to "All Programs." Its cluttering my Programs page because there's double of like 25% of my apps. The only way I've been able to fix this is to uninstall and then install it again. Is there any way to fix this??

Jun 10, 2010When I rooted to 2.1 I had a microphone by the gear. I also notice a microphone on the Evo. I was having issues with Gmail and switched to the official RUU and now have no microphone icon. That is an amazing feature! So how do I get it back? Diff keyboard or a feature I am missing? It looks like I cannot root anymore (for a while at least). Anyways just having the microphone icon would suffice I don't have to root per se.

Sep 7, 2009I did a search and nada. When I get a missed call I get the icon on the status bar. When I hit phone button it shows me who called me and return the call. However, the icon is still there. I have found that I have to go into the 'people' contact list and look the person up and then press the 'call history' in order for the icon to go away. Anyone know of an easier way?

Aug 19, 2009I got my HTC Hero a couple of days ago. Configuration went fine and I really like the phone. But for some reason, when I click on the Mail icon, rather than giving me access to my Gmail inbox, it wants to configure a new Exchang Sync or other pop3/imap account. I configured my Gmail account when setting up the phone initially and have gone back to factory settings a couple of times, with no success. I know that my Gmail/gcalendar data are there. Currently, the only way to access my mail is via notifications (so only when I get new mail). Any suggestions for solving my problem.
